USRP calibration routines

Hello

Are there any routines of calibration in Labview that are equivalent to the UHD drivers use Gnuradio?

http://files.ettus.com/manual/page_calibration.html

Thank you.

-Jan

Hi Jan,

If you use the host on the API OR-USRP, it can use the utilities of same.  A version compatible with NOR-USRP delivered with the driver and you can find by clicking on start-> all programs-> National Instruments-> NOR - USRP-> utilities.  They are handled in the same way as are utilities UHD.

I am having trouble with the calibration of touch of the finger on my TX2 so I ran the calibration routine.

He plays, without recognizing the keys in a particular corner.

I can press somewhere near this corner, a few cm of distance, but it doesn't recognize any pressure on the cross.

It's always the same corner, one that is down right when the computer is in normal phone mode.  (Or the upper left if I bend down in tablet with battery mode to the other direction.)

This has happened for a long time, ever since I first tried calibration it.  I notice that I have already asked about it in this forum in January and while I had a lot of views, not a single person responded.

  • Is it possible to pair a third-party GPS for use with Apple Watch?

I would use one GPS other than in my iPhone connected to my watch.  For example, I would use a GPS watch instead of my iphone running the runtime (easier to transport).  Can I pair it to my Apple Watch something?  I tried several times the calibration routine on my watch and it is simply not enough precise for me without a GPS and I do not carry my big 6 + when I run.  I have an old Garmin watch... running would be great match its function GPS with the Apple Watch...

Aside from the fact that Garmin is known for plays not well with other devices, including older devices Garmin who were ANT only, no, this is not currently an option with the Apple Watch.

Hello. I am new to this forum so HELLO...

Forgive me for asking a vague question a little. I take a glance on one occasion Designjet Z3200 44 "in the near future. There are obvious things to watch? The guy is ready to demonstrate the machine. I have an old Canon W6400, so I'm pretty familiar with printing large format, but was wondering if you had any suggestions?

    Thank you!!

3 things you want to check.  First of all do run all the reports of service that will tell you the status of all ink tanks, print heads and, possibly, the gas station.  Expiration dates are more important on the printheads on the ink tanks. To run a print head calibration routine to make sure that the printer is.  Finally, open the hood and look at the State of the drive belt.  See if it looks worn out as a substitute, it can be expensive.  Looking for black particles bearing under the belt like that indicates the level of wear.  There will always be a few particles, but a lot is present which could indicate that the belt is near time of replacement.

So, if I use any program like Corel Draw, Inkscape or Xara my stylus securities madly across the screen. As an exponential deviation I move the stylus. As soon as I close these programs it's all OK again. Touch works very well though - it's because I think the touch is a MS driver and stylus is Wacom driver.

A few days ago I inadvertently deleted the Wacom driver and... EVERYTHING worked fine with one caveat: no second-button assignment option. I couldn't open the Wacom tablet and control panel pen in the Panel MS. I got the error that was found no Tablet taken in charge. Never looked in the Manager device and of course, no Wacom anywhere. • External sample clock change takes a lot of time on the SMU-5186

    Hello

I use the external Lv - niScope EX Clocking.vi example to define SMU-5186 using an external sample clock.  However, it takes a long time, 5-6 minutes, before I can get the first block of data acquisition.

Then I run the example 'niScope EX Acquisition.vi Configured' to switch to dashboard clock. There are also 5 to 6 minutes on the first acquisition.

I think maybe the SMU-5186 made some calibration when I change the source of the clock.

Anyway is to ignore the calibration? Or make it faster?

    Thank you very much

    Yiming

    Yiming,

Delays in acquisition are caused by calibration routines that must be performed on the engine to sample (ADC) every time that changes sampling rate.  This ensures our justified precision specifications.

I don't know if you've noticed also calibration of Power-Up, which will take 5-10 minutes to complete when the unit is turned on.  This is mentioned in our specifications at page 18:

    I hope this helps.

  • VI runs very slowly

    Hello world

I hope you all have a good week.  I know that it's so suddenly in the water at my zip code and ask for help, but the truth is that I am a novice LabViewer and as community, this forum might be able to help me or point me in the right direction, way less time it would have taken me my own.  So enough of this and down to the fun stuff:

Goal: 1. in a broad sense, I want to read in about 10-20 minutes of data sampled at 30 kHz to the PDM format.  There are 5 channels in total.

    1. filtering data with high and low filters not of all 5 channels channels.

1B. take the standard deviation of the first segment of each of the five channels of data and divide each piece read in by gap to normalize.

1 C add the first three channels together to increase the signal to noise & find places of pic

1 d. use these places of pic and enter the amplitudes of tip on five channels and write to a text file

1E. Finally, when data now stored as a text file for current and future use, track and analyze information of peak amplitude.

    The attempt:

As you can see, I have attached two files, Calibration_Routine, which calls find_peaks.  The idea is that the Calibration routine, opens the DDHN file, reads in a data block at a time (750 000 lines both before of errors), forwards the data to search for peaks, which as its name suggests, detects peaks and delivers them to Calibration_Routine so that they can be written to a text file.

    The problem:

So far the code seems to work fine but get up to about 4.5 million lines will read and then goes incredibly slowly but without producing errors.

    I ask on your part:

As a newbie to LabView, I understand that there are probably plenty of room for my code optimization.  My suspicion is that there are some hidden buffer which is filled and clutter up the whole routine.

    1. How can I go to investigate memory problems?

    2. in a general sense, is there a better way to re - write my code?

    3. If, and I know it's a stretch, but if you see any obvious problems with my code, what are these and could you pointing me to some resources so that I can fix it?

As I post this, my goal is to work my way through this document:

    http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361H-01/lvconcepts/vi_execution_speed/

I hope that between the graceful help from members here, and my own slow but steady reading, I can get this thing to work.

I really appreciate your time to even look at my post.  All the best,

    -Joe

    Update:

I understand the reason why it was cluttering.  I tried to convert my dynamic data (blue wire) in a table inside a loop.  Once I put it inside outside of a loop of the VI can get through 20 minutes of data in a few minutes.  Not too bad IMO.

The downside, it is write data in a way that I didn't expect, but at least this part can be tested now if there is interest I can re-post the fixed code.

  • High level VI execution control... What don't get me?

    Hello all-

I am writing an app that has controls on the front panel to access the calibration routines or collection of two subsets of channels on my data acquisition hardware (USB-6211)... called A Bank and Bank B.  The problem is that, once I called one of the subVIs, I lose the ability to call another user interface main... at least until the first call has finished its task and returns control to the main VI.

For example, I'm collects data on Bank A and would independently to calibrate or collect on Bank B at the same time, TI later the keys on front lines until the first task is complete.

According to me, I must be missing something quite basic here.  Maybe it has to do with selected delivery system or a bad design at a higher level?  Is the structure of the event that I use fouling things up?

Because the 6211 don't let me read the analog-ins a subset of channels so that the other subset is busy, data acquisition, I try to read all 16 channels once per second (an average of values for about half a second), this data table can feed these subVIs for viewing or recording.  I need the DAQvoltagesAverage VI to run continuously in the background, update the table every second for use in the other routines.

    Am I way off here?

Any help is greatly appreciated!  I have all downstream work, but were not able to understand this issue more high level.

    Using LabVIEW 2011 on MacOSX

The structure of the event does not end the VI has not completed. In addition, you are locking thre façade in the configuration of the event. The main program Calera until the Subvi is in your implementation.

There are a lot of way to independent lauch screws, for example using VI or "start the asynchronous call" server, for example. You can even use two independent loops while and structures for each event.

(What is the purpose of the s 1. waiting seems useless here.)

  • execution/multithreading helps

I'm analyzing a data under labview professional 2d table updates data at 20 Hz or more.  I'd like to run both a 'short' (operations of addition may be 500) calculation and a long (maybe 0, 5-1 sec processing time?) calculation, with the short a update ~ 10 Hz and the update has been done for a long time a whenever it ends.  What is the best way to get this kind of thing in labview?

... of calibration routines that both loops of consumer depend on for their calculations.  These routines must be performed when the user pushes a button in the user interface.  What is the best way to coordinate access to these?

Use several producers, one to add data to consumers, one to insert the calibration information.

You will need make the data type for the queue a cluster. One of the elements to set the type of function, the other to add information given or cal.

  • CM1312nfi MFP printing strange colours in plain text documents

My CM1312nfi MFP printer has started printing text wrong color, even on plain text pages. On plain text pages, with the text selected by default is black, it's printing text sort of greenish in about half left of the page and a blackish purple on half right side of the page.

I changed the black toner cartridge, but that did not help.

I ran only a calibration routine, but that did not help or the other.

I run the site Internet HP postscript driver (upd - ps - x 64 - 5.5.0.12834.exe) because the application that I am printing demands. It printed fine with this driver for hundreds of pages, and then all of a sudden he started this thing green and purple.

The system is a HP Pavilion e9260f running windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

There has been no recent change in the system of the printer. This seems to be just all of a sudden.

I'm at the end of my mind. Any suggestions? It's time to send it to HP for repairs?

    P. S.

The symptoms you describe are related to a physical defect somewhere on the printer.  The software should have nothing to do with it.

Your cartridges are brand new HP or handed over to new/completed?

Assuming that your cartridges are new to HP the other element to be considered is the fuser unit. Bad ovens need to be replaced and can be quite spendy.  Unless you can find a fault with the cartridges, it is likely that's going to be worth it to replace the printer with a newer model.  HP or a certified technician should be able to take care of the repairs for you too if that's what you prefer.

  • Sound weird coming from the hard drive, every Min or 2-Dell Inspiron 15R SE 7520

Not really sure if this is still a bad question. This player has not yet failed. It's just making a weird noise, I have no idea what could be the cause.

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=XwYSdD4fyRU

The ticking, in this video, is exactly the same. The only difference. Undermines the fact every 1 min, sometimes every 2 minutes... and sometimes all 3 or 4 minutes. And he just does the ticking sound once. not again and again.

If a tick from time to time. You can hear only - when everything is guiet? Just a tick and it disappears for a while?

Does that mean that my drive has failed? Reason why I'm asking. After a year of use, the hard drive has failed-It just died. Dell has replaced the disc/Msata too. It was near another year, with replacement. Is this a sign that I should back up and save all my info. Contact dell.

IF kills laptop another disk hard-is there a chance of the motherboard is defective?

Things that I've tried - defragment the disk, I even check and repair sectors... found nothing.

    Any help would be appreciated...

thought about upgrading to an ssd, but I really want to do, if the motherboard is to kill hard drives?

    Thanks for reading

Here I am again, a bit frustrated... Has achieved a good response when I posted... but nothing else after that... Different response of old Story/Issue...same... (((I thought of it out on mine)))

Don't know if that's the right answer, but I thought that if there was someone out there with the same problem, it might give you some answers.

After reading and Goggling... I found a few different answers... "My favorite, but NOT CORRECT"... Your drive is dying, you must back up all the files and save them to an external disk, before it fails... where there is a click or a bad sector... it will multiply and more.

Of course, there is a simple answer from someone who knows nothing about the hard drive. But incorrect. Especially if you do not experience problems or blue screens.

A hard click or clunk, may be two different things. Non of them pointing to a player out. Depending on the player, it could be a bad sector. It could be one of 2 things, "THERMAL CALIBRATION ROUTINES", or it could be "ADVANCE DRIVE PROTECTION".

I don't understand how an any of them work, but a quick Google search should provide you with answers.

On my drive a simple defrag helped. Now I hear the noise, every once and awhile. Sometimes I don't hear it at all in a session. You are not sure if it was a coincidence? But I feel much better knowing what to do.

Thanks for reading my question and post

  • PARALLE_DGEREE_POLICY = AUTO

    Hello

Using Oracle 11.2.0.3 on IBM Power Series 7 and the database parameter PARALLEL_DEGREE_POLICY = AUTO is defined.

It is ocrrcet that in doing so we don't need to define the degree of parallelism on the table itself.

The hope was that the database would then determine the degree of parallelism of use/if/wehn use a parallel query.

We wanted to avoid having to manually set the degree of parallelism on the tables themselves as hope would be the database would be the best decision.

It seems that the database is currently flooded with parallel processes, for example issue a sql and can spawn > 10 parallel proceseses, seen sometimes more than 100

Database then seems to grind to halt.

Thoughts for what if this setting is set to AUTO is negative impact on database performance?

Any other setting should be set to esnure that it behaves like epxected serverless overwhelming.

    Thank you

I had good results with this.
Set not a degree of parallelism on tables or indexes.
It is essential to have good system statistics, I would collect statistics system for a few hours.
You need to run the calibration routine Resource Manager, if you have not it will not work properly.
If you have really found many proesses PX, set your parallel_servers_target setting to allow the tail and use you Resource Manager for precise control of the present.

    It does not work.

  • I1 Display - it's a failure?

Did he have someone else here the original display of i1? Or any information about what is likely to happen at the start of the device itself to failure?

In my latest round of calibrations, you use the latest version of i1 Match, I wasn't able to get very good results, and the results when I tried the advanced calibration routine have been particularly weird. I tried to put a white dot to 6500K, but I was still getting a very pink result on two different monitors.

When I used the easy calibration routine, I was able to get better results, but they seem to shut down compared to what I was getting into last year. (Yes, it's been a while since I've done calibrations fresh, and no, I don't have the notes what hardware parameters in both monitors before, so I can not just go old profiles.)

I think that if the i1 puck himself did not exist or had a dirty window or something of the sort, I would just also twisted results with advanced and easy calibration routines. But it seems equally unlikely that the i1 Match software would have decayed just sitting on the computer for several months.

It's time for the replacement of material, does anyone have experience with the current i1 Display Pro? The impressions?

Who would say that the sensor has failed, or the monitor is a failure.

As it happens with multiple monitors - I'd be willing to bet on the sensor is going bad.

How could a routine walk-run? Inside, Indoor walk or another run? I do this routine outdoors with Gps first so that I'm not kidding my calibration data? Help please and thank you!

    Hello

Choose indoor walk or run Indoor (it does not matter which) to an indoor walk-run routine.

Even if Apple Watch does not currently offer as a workout interval training, choose one of these allows the most appropriate data sources (which are the same for market and short) to use to track your training.

If walking or running, the accelerometer is used to estimate pace and the distance (allow your arms swinging naturally) as well as the frequency heart sensor for the estimation of calories burned.

Run or walk inside will not affect your calibration data. Calibration is based on the GPS of the iPhone data and is only held during the outdoor walking training or race outdoors when the iPhone combined is taken along.
