Valet parking can be defined as an access point only?

I'm on ATT U-verse and must use their router but I wish I had an access point "N".  The new valet parking is adjustable as an access point only either turn off the router and DHCP functions?

Technically Yes, but if you do not set up this way, you will not be able to configure it by using the software, will have to be a manual configuration...

I recommend the following:

1. set the Valet for default values (hold the reset for 10 seconds, then release)

2. connect a PC to the Valet

3. access to user interface to 192.168.1.1 (if resetting the password will be admin)

4. go in the wireless tab and configure your SSID and security settings

-Do not forget to 802.11n you use WPA2 personal security only, nothing else will not give you of top speeds speed

5. save wireless settings.

6. go to the basic settings and change the IP address to something different, which I suggest you to 192.168.1.2 (if using another device Linksys or Cisco, as this will help prevent conflicts when you connect your networks together)

7. save the settings

8. close the browser and reopen it, access the user interface to the new address 192.168.1.2 (or you have chosen)

9. on the page basic settings, disable the DHCP server, and then click Save.

10 disconnect your PC from the Jack and connect the Jack to your network existing (use of the LAN numbered ports to not connect the INTERNET port)

11. Once you have the LAN ports on the Jack connected to the LAN ports on your existing router, you should be able to pull DHCP from the main router when connected wireless and surf the net...

Enjoy!

  • My Airport Time Capsule can act as a WIRELESS access point

    Hello.

I brought a Time Capsule with my Mac Pro. It worked well since yesterday.

I have set up the time Capsule as a WIFI, bypass at my local network access point. There is a router (cable) works at home.

It's my Mac Pro AirPort Utility and my iPhone, my Time Capsule is displayed with an exclamation point saying "device not found". I can't connect to the disk on this subject by afp share, or smb. Time Machine function is gone too. He failed trying to connect to the share drive from another computer connected to the time Capsule by cable network.

But at the same time, WiFi works well.

I tried to recycle energy. Sharing disk will be available. But if I start the Time Machine backup, it will not be a few seconds.

    Any idea?

    Thank you.

There are several posts here related the issue.

Luckily, you have set up your new Time Capsule for Back to My Mac (BTMM)?

If so, the 'temporary' solution is to delete/disable the option of the CCMM, as follows:

    • Run the AirPort Utility.
    • Select the base and then station, select change.
    • On the tab of the Base Station, go back to the section of my Mac at the bottom of the window.
    • If you have entries here, select it and click then the minus sign "-" button to remove it.
    • Click on update and allow the base station restart.

If you have not enabled CCMM, we have other options for you to try.

I have a L20-101. It worked well until we change our AP with 802n Apple AP again. I can see any other network, but I can't see mine.
    Any idea?

    Thank you

    Hello

Yes, I have an idea ;) How about you change the WLan card?
Seems that the new access point is not compatible with the wireless network for laptop card.
Maybe the minPCI wireless network card does not support the standard wireless access point.

    What do you think?

  • I can't configure WAG120N as access point

Dear all please help I bought a WAG120N but I'm not ready to use as modem router instead, I intend to use it as an access point. Please give me the steps to do so. Cordially Parag

Hi parag_ca. Apart from the suggestion of chadster766 to connect devices in a LAN to LAN configuration (where you need to connect the Ethernet cable from the main modem to one of the 4 regular ports on the router), you can also follow the LAN WAN procedure so that you always get to plug the ethernet cable from the main modem to the WAN or Internet the WAG120N port. Just change the local IP address of the router 192.168.2.1 to avoid IP conflicts.

  • A WRT160N V3 can be used as wireless access point.

I have an AT & T's broadband router.  A WRT160N is connected, so I now have Wireless N capabilities.  I have a second WRT160N I want to put in my living room as a point of access, so I can connect my BluRay player and video stream.  How can I configure the second WRT160N as access point?

    Thank you in advance,

    Andrew

Topic 1. Yes, you can use your second WRT and put in place as a second access point to your network. First of all, unplug the second WRT to your network and wire a computer in one of its LAN ports. Open the web interface at http://192.168.1.1/ on the main configuration page, change the address LAN IP of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2 and disable the DHCP server. Save the settings. Unplug the computer and connect the cable to the first router on one of the second router's LAN ports. Do not use the internet port of the second router! Now you can use the wireless access point in the second router as access point additional for your network.

For a wireless roaming the two Wrds with identical wireless settings (SSID, wireless security, etc.) and don't forget to enable the SSID broadcast. Only the channel assignments should be different. Different channels spaced at least 5 avoids duplication of canals. Now your laptop can connect to your network via either WRT and internet through the first WRT. It must also be able to move between the two Wrds without losing the connection.

Re 2. Because the WRT160N has only the ethernet 10/100 ports a CAT5e cable should do. Of course, you can consider getting a better cable, for example a cat6 for future enhancements to your network. It depends on how much effort it is necessary to replace the cable later if you decide to go for gigabit ethernet on your local network.

  • The WRT600N can connect to a wireless access point?

I installed Windows 7 on my desktop and I was not able to install all types of Linksys wireless adapters.  I decided that linking an my WRT600N wireless access point in the other room and hardwireing the office to the access point, would be a good idea.  I'm probably going to connect it to a Net WTG624 Gear, which is capable of acting as an access point and you connect to another router.  The question is, can the WRT600N you connect to and use the internet and the local access and, ultimately, on the Office of cable?  I feel that it is one of the most stupid questions, I ask myself here again, but I'm not sure.

EDIT: I'm sure it's called Wireless Bridge.

    Thank you

    Zach

    Hello Zach,

The WRT600N can connect at the point of access, and vice-versa. I have a WRT600N home and have the same model of NetGear as access point (what are the chances?) and it works fine, although I do miss the 5 GHz as the Access Point is only 2.4 Ghz 802.11 g Standard.

    I hope this helps!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: Can I define eprint to n/b only?

Can I set eprint (to a Pro Officejet 8620) to n/b only?

I have the Windows printer, the default value of n/b, but it does not affect when:

    -Print from my iPhone

-J' I send a document to the printer

Can I have those also appearing on b/w?

    Hello

If you use AirPrint from your iPhone, the print settings are very limited and you will not be able to print in black and white.

What I suggest for your iPhone that is download the HP eprint app and print from the app where you will have the ability to print in black and white.

For e-Print via a content by e-mail to your printer, there is no option to print in black and white, just the default color of the content.

    Best regards.

    OK, let's do this easily.

If independent IOS, this is what you want the PA to start with, the more simple (and fast) to get this race is to format the flash of the AP (command: format flash :).)

When formatting is finished, load the standalone IOS using the method of the Mode button.

  • Valet parking more and FIos

    Hello

I have the router Actiontec of FIOS REV D. and I just bought a Valet Plus with the hope of using it for my wireless, but stay on the same network.

    (1) how to configure the Valet and Actiontec to communicate with each other

    (2) I want to keep the network service customers if it is possible for Valet

    (3) I would be able to use the ethernet ports on both devices and wireless for valet and always be able to communicate between devices.

    (4) Finally, I don't want to disable all FIOS TV services.

You must connect two routers together with the Ethernet cable.

You can't connect two routers using the Wi - Fi connection. So there should be a cable between Actiontech router and with valet services more.

    Connection type 1:

If you want to use the network comments on Valet Plus router then router function or the DHCP server on the Valet more should work.

Consider that the IP of Actiontach router address is 192.168.1.1. Then connect the cable to the port of Actiontech router to the Internet liked Jack port. Connect the computer to the Valet Plus router and run the Cisco connect software on your computer. The Cisco connect software will automatically create the network invited for plu Valet and it will also change the IP address of the Valet Plus router. In this case, you can use the two routers (wired or wireless) Internet connection and network reviews.

But Actiontach computers/devices connected to the router will not be able to communicate with the computers/devices connected to the Valet more because of IP address change.

    Type of connection 2:

In this type of connection, you can connect Actiontech router to more router Ethernet 1 Valet port and use it as an access point or switch.

Consider the IP of Actiontech router address is 192.168.1.1, then you can change the IP address of Jack more on 192.168.1.2. Disable the DHCP server on the router more Valet.

In this case, you will not be able to Jack by using the installation CD. You must manually change the settings and you will not be able to use the Valet guest network feature.

But the computer connected to the Actiontech router will be able to communicate with computers connected to the Valet Plus.

  • D6200 Access Point - 2.4 is no longer connects 99% of the time

Hi gurus, I have a D6200 which is defined as an Access Point (I have to use my ISP modem issued their secret squirrel nature do not share the parameters and limitations of VOIP, but that's another story). I had already used the D6200 before getting the NBN (Australia) and so why was happy to keep the same configuration of network with her now implemented as an AP.

In any case, served as AP all 2.4 and 5 without problems with things like my printer and Panel Solar Inverter only able to use the network 2.4. Like today I can connect is 2.4 (warned, saying: I have the wrong password)-had a power outage yesterday that could have an impact, but seems odd when only 2.4 network hit.

-J' have confirmed the password, delete all.

-Checked the channels for interference, all clear (tried a few others just in case where)

-Tried a simple power cycle, no joy.

-J' have done a factory reset, reconfigured AP, created with pre-existing, passwords and network names. 5 works fine, 2.4, no joy.

-An another factory reset and reconfigure but leaving name network and passwords according to the default. 5 works fine. 2.4... worked well on my iphone6, but not on my ipad (always get incorrect password). Unable to connect via 2.4 via macbook either.

-Just not changed my phone from 2.4 to 5 no worries, attempted to return to the 2.4 password and wants new and can no longer access

I am at a loss. I have seen many problems with 2.4 in the forums, but nothing that seems to relate directly to it (which has not been fixed with a simple factory reset).

    See you soon. Diving.

Ok. I can't explain it, but then nothing for a few days, connected to the computer today and was able to conenct to 2.4 did the same with the phone and the printer and everything back to normal. So I guess that the solution to this problem is to do nothing for a few days and hope for the best. I can't contact at all but I'm glad I'm not buying a new router in the meantime.

  • Card wireless INTEL PRO 2200 BG - don't find any wireless access point

I just try to run internet with the internal PRO INTEL BG 2200 wireless card.
The driver version is just updated to 9.0.4.39. The problem is, I can't find any wireless access point.

I also use a D-Link card, with this card, I found the available access points. What could be the problem with the INTEL PRO card. I'm sitting right next to the router/hub.

Also, I thought that I might need to activate the wireless with additional keys Fn function, but they do not work, I guess. Maybe I need a driver for this tool also. Do anyone know where I can find drivers to use the Fn keys?

    My system:
    TOSHIBA Tecra
    WINDOWS XP (SP 3)

See also: The INTEL internet LAN works.

    > What could be the problem with the INTEL PRO card. I'm sitting right next to the router/hub.

For me, it seems that the WiFi network is not enabled.
Usually, you need to activate the WLan switch which is placed on the side of the laptop. Then, you'd see an active WLan led.
If you n t see the light, then the WiFi network has not been activated.

In addition, choose the WLAN using FN + F8!
You can also activate the Wlan in Device Manager-> card Wlan-> properties-> Advanced tab.

    Good bye

  • Cannot connect to my Satellite A210 adapter for access point

    Hey everybody...

I have a little problem with my wireless. We have some books and access point. Everyone can connect to access point except me. I have the Satellite A210-127. Do you know where is the problem? How can I connect to the access point?

    Thank you

In a first time, you must activate WLAN antenna correctly. Upon first use WLAN switch and set it TO position (the LED will be ON). Next step is to use the FN + F8 key combination. Don't forget THAT WLAN is enabled.

After this use please ConfigFree radar to see if the access point is visible for your laptop.

  • Implementation of access point with WRT54GL

    Hi all

I am very new to this wireless networking thing.

I'm having some trouble with my wireless router.  My ISP gave me a wireless Huwaei modem but I live in a two-story apartment and modem from the ISP plays well on the second floor, the signal is very weak.

My problem here is that I am trying to use my router to broadcast the signal to the floor.

Is it possible to set up an access point with my Wi - Fi router?

My idea is that the router would be placed in another part of the apartment and clone the signal from the modem wi - fi and move this signal. I want to place the wireless router in the second floor.

    Such an action is possible?

Thank you very much for your help.

You can set the WRT54GL as Access Point, both your two routers must be wired to the other...

To make the two routers are wireless, is not not possible.

For both routers works between them, connect the Ethernet cable between the LAN Port of your Modem to the Lan 1 Port on the Linksys router. Click here and follow the instructions how do your Linksys router works with your Modem.
