validation advises my vists update is already used, but I reinstalled in another computer, all first be retired

I recently had to be scrapped a PC which I had upgraded from XP to Vista with a genuine drive to upgrade Vista Home Edition.  I have another PC which was installed with XP and this improved Vista too, using the same disc.  The validation process advise the license is being used and I need to get in touch with Microsoft to resolve the problem. All attempts to find a phone number or address the issue leads to questions Forums. Can someone advise the right course of action.

I also recall that even following a track to buy a new license (out of curiosity) just trying to make me upgrade to Windows 7, which I won't do. I want to reuse the Vista upgrade on a replacement computer.  How can I go about it.
Thank you

You can move the windows on a new computer

If it's a full license or upgrade retail - Yes. You can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on one computer at a time (and if it's a version upgrade the new Windows computer must have its own license of qualification). The previous Windows installation on your old computer must be formatted or deleted. You will have to perhaps call Microsoft and explain what happened to complete activation. Turning it on the second computer will automatically be in effect 'disable' the license for the first computer.

If it's an OEM license - don't. OEM licenses, including Windows preinstalled on a computer before purchase and Windows purchased separately, are related to the first computer, they are installed on and cannot be transferred to another computer. To install Windows on another computer, you will need to buy another copy.

  • When I insert my recovery disk its Blanck, but if I used the same disc in another computer I can see the content inside

    Original title: DVD RW drive

I'm having a problem with my computer toshiba M645. When I insert my recovery disk its Blanck, but if I used the same disc in another computer I can see the contents inside. I try inserting the disk dvd movies and it will play normally. Please give me help with this problem because I want to get my phone to the sound out of the box state. Thank you.

    Hello

The drive came with the laptop or you did it yourself in the recovery Partition?

And you're supposed to boot from the recovery disc to start the recovery process.

You change the Boot order to make the CD/DVD drive first in the boot order. Then, you start from the disc.

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

And as a way to re - install with most of the Toshibas, you press 0 (zero) to start to start the process of recovery back to settings factory (new State) of the recovery Partition.

  • Can I use the Windows key from another computer non-working on my computer?

Can I use the Windows key from another computer non-working on my computer? I took the key of this computer and used on my current computer, but I get a message indicating that the key is not authentic, even if it is directly from a previously active computer.

    Original title: Activation

    Hello

No.; If the operating system on the other came computer preinstalled (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.) you can't use it on another PC.

If the laptop/computer came with preinstalled Windows operating system (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.), this product key provided with your computer/laptop to the OEM license preinstalled and is not transferable.

OEM license/product key (systems of operating pre-installed on Dell, HP, etc.) is related to the first machine it is installed on and dies when dies of this machine.

Only retail Operating System license that you buy and install yourself, are allowed to be transferred to another machine.

And retail licenses also can be installed on a machine at one time.

  • Given that I already used the windows key on my computer, means that I can never use it again? Or is - this perpetual, I can use it forever?

So a few months ago I completely wiped the BONE (sindows) acccidentally. I don't know why it happened, but there is no file at all, no OS. Using another computer, I had a trial version of the same Windows I have 7 Home premium and inserted the product key, I have inside my Dell laptop and got it to work under Win 7 again. My question is: given that I've used the key of windows already on my computer, does that mean I can never use it again? Or is - this perpetual, I can use it forever?

You can use as many times as you like on the same Dell computer.

There might be some cases if reinstall you it from scratch, you may need to use the activation of the phone well:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • Using a HARD drive in another computer?

The computer (where the hard drive comes from), is currently in a State of operation not.

I want to do is start this drive on another computer to look through of essential programs, so I can mark down.
I am aware that I can use another computer to look through the files, but I would rather start Windows Vista to look through.
I think it is when, for example, you connect a drive of Windows 8/8.1 in a new machine - it installs new hardware and starts right up. I don't want Vista to BSOD on me.

Anyone know if this is possible?

    Hello

In addition to the license issues, in all likelihood not we can start this drive in another computer, due to the fact that this damaged computer hard drive has all the drivers, etc is installed for the old motherboard failed.

That's all what you can do:

    Saving your files:

You can remove the hard drive and put it in a hard drive USB enclosure > plug it into another computer > and try to read and copy your data in this way.

Or you can install it as a slave inside another computer drive to read data.

  • IOS 9.2.1 update is already installed, but iTunes is updated

I have the IOS installed on my iPhone 9.2.1 update 6 +, but when I connect to iTunes, it says that he finds a new version (9.2.1) and I want to install.  I used to do my live updates directly from the iPhone, but when I go to general-> software updates, it says I'm in 9.2.1, which is the current version.  I suppose this may have something to do with error 53 and the new patch that came out that has the same version version 9.2.1.  I want to know if I should go ahead and do the iTunes 9.2.1 update as prompted or simply continue to ignore it.

    Thank you all!

  • How to use wifi when connected to another computer?

I am currently in a situation where I need screen sharing another mac via ethernet with my thunderbolt, while the Wifi adapter. I have a 2014 the computer I want to see is a new Mac Mini and Macbook Pro screen. When we are connected by ethernet, none of my wifi signal works, even if I am logged in. My computer is looking for internet connection coming from the mac mini, but that is not connected to the internet. As soon as I unplug my shot of lightning/Ethernet, then my wifi starts immediately to the top. In any case to be connected to my wifi, as well as the other computer by ethernet at the same time? Thank you

    Steve

    Your description is disconcerting.

Do not run cables on the carpet between the computers. Connect all devices to your router or switches that connect to your router, or via Wi - Fi to your router.

You have a SINGLE network. Some devices can be connected by Ethernet and others by Wi - Fi, but it's the same network.  There is no need to have all devices to use the same media. Ethernet is the fastest connection you can do, so if you have an Ethernet connection, Wi - Fi can be "".

As long as each device can get on the Internet at the same time without rewiring, you can also do a computer connection to computer whenever you want.

If the original computer that has been updated for Windows 7 comes with Vista while the copy of Vista is an OEM product and cannot be used on any other computer than the one it came with.  If the version of Win 7 is an upgrade, not a full retail product version, then the original Vista is still attached to this computer (as the qualifier for the upgrade) and can not be installed on another computer, even if it was a full retail product and OEM No.
