Values of weight in weighted linear fit

I'm using Labview 8.5, which has the linear adjustment vi weighted.

What values are acceptable as weight? In other editing software the weight expected are usually variations of each value. It seems to me that the weights provided by vi linear weighted adjustment are in a range from 0 to 1, which fits the way that much you value that point.

What is the vi actually looking for? A value between 0 and 1, or the standard deviation for each particular value of the dependent variable?

I can't just by reading the help, or search online.

You can use any weight you want, from zero to infinity nearby.

If you know the variance for the data, the value of the weight as opposite of variance (see also).

weight = 1/variance or

weight = 1 /(standard deviation) ²

    Please confirm me if what I do is correct.

    But again, I'm not sure I can identify the slope delta as the deviation of the slope.

    Thank you

    Hello

    I did some research more.

    As I understand it, slope delta (or radius of trust) can also be referred to as margin for error.

    You may need to do more research on your own in this regard, but it seems that the two are different types of analysis. Standard deviation is a measure of the variability of a set of data, while the slope delta (or margin of error) refers to the amount of random sampling error. If you can get a direct link between the two, I'm not sure, however the first link below indicates that this is possible.

    I hope this gives some more.

    Regarding the algorithm we use in the interval linear form VI, I think that the following document would be a good start.  There is a section called "confidence interval and interval of forecasting."    It describes the algorithm we use.

  • In the column of table when the values are grater that maximum linear axis it does not show the bar

    Hi guys,.

    In the column of table when the values are grater than there maximum linear axis it does not show the Bar.But I want to display the bar up to the maximum limit of the axis is linear without changing the limit max.

    Consider following the example:

    The values are 80 90 200 300

    and here is the result:

    Left: when I don't put maximum property of linear axis.

    Right: when I put in maximum property of linear axis to 200.

    Untitled.jpg

    Law 4th bar is not visible because the value of this bar is 300 which is excedding maxium. But I want the 4th bar to appear identical to 3 bar.

    How can I do this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Then you should change the value of Y to the maximum value.

    Another option, you should consider is changing the Render item column to reflect that the value is greater than the specified maximum value.

  • Gauss made ignores or even lose weight?

    Dear users,

    I'm confused with the tip Gauss Fit function and weight of entry.

    My goal is to eliminate the pic in the input data (white). Now I see that the overall trend is a form of Gauss.

    My first attempt was to introduce a weighting which prefers the external data instead of the plant (i.e. "Paper1 (no zero weight)" - the Red V-shaped curve). Well, I have a bell curve which is not very good ('Gauss1' - the red curve).

    My next attempt was to define certain values of weight in the Center to zero ("weights2 (some zero weight)"-blue dots, of zeros at the Center "). Surprise, surprise, it's even worse ('Gauss2' - curve blue).

    So, I deleted I put some values in the amplitudes of the nan - these values that are part of the PIC. The results is not of all publishable.

    As next, I removed the 7 points around the Center completely and mounted the two wings of the input data. Then I've interpolated missing the rest and came up with "Gauss3" - the curve orange.

    As a cherry on top of it. I pasted the original with the Gauss3 data interpolated to finally get rid of the central peak.

    My question is: why Gauss peak had ignored my weight? According to aid, they should not be different from zero; That's all.

    The problem may be due to the entry of "setting limits" to the Gaussian peak Fit.vi.  By default, the offset min and max are both 0, forcing the offset parameter must be 0.  When I changed the min and max offset for all three instances of the Fit.vi peak Gaussian to be unconstrained (-Inf, Inf), then the fit was much better.

  • Weighting of exponential power FFT spectrum mode

    In the spectrum power of FFT VI mode exponential weighting from the link:

    https://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361H-01/lvanlsconcepts/average_improve_measure_freq/#Wei...

    Weighting is applied according to the following equation.

    where Xi is the result of the analysis conducted on the ith block, Yi is the result of the average of X 1 XI, N = i for the linear weighting, and N is a constant for the exponential weighting (N = 1 to i = 1).

    For the exponential weighting, N is a constant. What is its value?

    Yes, but N = I do not mean that it is constant. For weighted linear N = i means N = 1 when I = 1, N = 2 when I = 2... And on average stops when I reached your set number.

    For the exponential weighting N is constant (the number that you define) that leads to an exponential weighting. The average never stops in this case.

  • Linear adjustment settings

    Hello everyone

    I use linear Fit.vi to calculate the slope. Are there guidelines to make the right choice for the 'weight', 'tolerance' and 'method' taking into account the nature of the data?

    Thank you.

    Dan07.

    Don't wire the weight unless you have additional information on the data. For example, if you know the standard deviation of each point because it is derived from several measures, or if there is a known between the x and the noise in the data relationship. For example, if some points have a bigger mistake, you could downweight them accordingly. (how common is weight = 1/variance, see also).

    The method is not a simple U16 but an enum, to get a correctly typed entry simply with the right button of the Terminal and "create a control" or "create constant.

    Tolerance is used only for the iterative methods (less absolute residual, bisquare). They are most useful if you have some outliers in the data. Try a few values a few orders of magnitude and see how results vary.

    Regular, use only the wire the x and y bays and leave all the rest to the default value.

  • Curve fitting only part of a waveform

    I take a few data of an Oscilloscope and I need to make an adjustment to the curve.  As you can see it on the data in the Appendix data starts at 0 and ends a 10-6.  I want to just curved put on the part of the 5th-6 to 10-6.   That's what I tried

    (1) I take the waveform and use a "waveform components get."  Then I take the data Y and remove the first half of the data in the table.  Then I use a wave 'building' and put in the new data of Y and data from dt to make the NEW waveform.  I then put in for the VI Curve Fitting Express.  This works well for the slope, but of course the point of intersection is disabled because data that was in the 5-6 are now 0.  And 10th-6 data are now at 5-6 because I have stripped the first 5-6 data and reconstructed the waveform.   I thought I could use the 't0' value in the 'Build' wave to set the beginning of the NEW waveform at 5th and 6, but it seems that the "t0" is only for a timestamp (this is a calendar of data).

    (2) I thought to convert the waveform in X and is given because it is easy to transfer data from X by just add 5-6 each value in table X.  But then he would not enter the Curve Fitting Express VI.

    (3) I thought to use the "places" of the curve fitting Express VI entry, but I could not really get that to work.

    Thanks for any help.

    Away from the express VI and the Plains tools operating on simple table data. Many of the fitting screw (for example a linear adjustment) have an entry 'weight', then the value of weight zero for the data outside of the desired range. You can also simply take a subset before mounting.

  • digital output: relationship between input and output values

    Hi, could someone tell me if you are using digital lines material OR daqmx (SMU 6358, if it is dependent on the device), what is the value of weight of the inputs that will change the output of 0s to 1s?

    Suppose, I write a table of 10 numbers from 0 to 9, which will output look the same?

    Thank you.

    This is of specific devices, but you will see a pattern the same values across many devices. Of the datasheet for your SMU:

    • Continuous positive threshold: 2.2V
    • Line negative: 0.8V

    Yes 0 - 9V, depends on which direction you're going. It is a grey between 0.8V and 2.2V area because the value will not switch until it reaches the threshold value.

    From False to True, you need read a value of 2, 2V. Changes from true to False, you will need to read a value less than 0.8V

    This image does a good job of this representative. See the red line (positive course) and green-(négatif cours).

  • How to create a script for the calculation of the VO2max using text on a pdf form field values.

    I'm trying to create a script that calculates the VO2max based on user input in several text fields.

    My form is set up so that the user can enter values in the 4 fields of text:

    1 weight = weight in kilograms

    2. age = age in years

    3 time = time to walk 1 mile in decimal

    4. the heart rate (HR) = heart rate recovery immediately after you have finished walking 1 mile

    The VO2max equation that I use is:

    VO2max = 132.853 - (0.1692 * weight)-(0.3877 * Age) + (6,315) - (3.2649 * time)-(0.1565 * HR)

    After the user enters values in 4 text fields, I want the text of VO2max field automatically calculate the above equation and display the result to the user so that the user doesn't have to get all those numbers into a calculator.

    Any suggestions on how to write the script?

    Assuming that your domain names are what you entered in the formula, you can use the simplified field notation:

    132.853 - (0.1692 * weight)-(0.3877 * Age) + (6,315) - (3.2649 * time)-(0.1565 * HR)

    If you want the value to display only after al the data fields are complete you need to use a JavaScript calculation:

    function GetField (cName) {}
    oField var = this.getField (cName);
    if(oField == null) app.alert ("field of error for access to the" cName + "\nPlease verify the name of the field.", 1, 0 ");
    return oField;
    }

    var weight = GetField ("Weight");
    var Age is GetField ("Age");.
    var time = GetField ("Time");
    var h = GetField ("HR");

    Event.Value = "";
    If (Weight.value! = 0 & Age.value! = 0 & Time.value! = 0 & HR.value! = 0) {}
    Event.Value = 132.853 - (0.1692 * Weight.value)-(0.3877 * Age.value) + (6,315) - (3.2649 * Time.value)-(0.1565 * HR.value);
    }

    Hi all

    I need to implement the 'linear' Fit.vi in MATLAB. I use the method of least squares in the .vi but unfortunately MATLAB operator "-" does not give me the same result. It's strange because they both claim to use exactly the same methods of calculation.

    Here is the MATLAB link for this operation.

    I appreciate your help on this matter.

    Thank you.

    Re-reading your post, you will leave the way to much information for us to make sense of it all.

    Since you are apparently linear adjustment of LabVIEW and matlab linear adjustment compared, I assume that you fully functional code for both.

    Can tie you your VI and important section of your matlab code?

    Where the operator '-' fit into all this?

    How the results are different. They are at least similar? If you do a line with paper and pencil, using very few points, is agree with LabVIEW, matlab or not?

  • Best Poly Fit Coefficients do not match the best Poly Fit 2

    Hello

    I have dataset with 9 points and want to adapt or to solve linear equations with coefficient 9. The model - equation is then

    When I create the matrix H and send data to 'General linear Fit' it returns coeffcients and the best fit. Better adapt works well but I don't know how to interpret a coeficients.

  • Graph XY - linear scale data overlay / Journal

    Hi people,

    I'm in LabVIEW 2012 and I have a (x, y) dataset I want to draw on a set of dimensions. I also want to superimpose a second horizontal axis with the same data, but using a set of units on the scale (xStar). You can watch the enclosed screws to see how x transforms xStar, but it's basically the quadratic formula with an exponential lift. The x values are plotted on a linear scale, but because of this exponential transformation xStar-values are reported on a logarithmic scale (see image).

    I want these two studs--(x,y) and (xStar, y)-to overlap exactly what they are actually a single parcel. That, in view of all (x, y) point, I can quickly raise the value of xStar glancing at the scale of the secondary axis. x and xStar are two useful physical parameters, then it is useful to be able to read one or the other on the chart depending on the situation.

    Any suggestions on how to get these two plots overlap? Currently, I use the min/max-x values to generate appropriate min/max values xStar, which makes the plots suitable for endpoints (but not between the two). I also need to specify somehow scale increments? If so, what is a good method to achieve this?

    Thank you!

    The non-linear relationship (no log) is between x and xStar, you chose a logarithmic scale grid, so I guess that 'linear' scale must be adjusted.

    Since the x-> xStar relatiion is given and fixed to a scale, you can create an image on the chart with the tools of photography.

    read the newspaper scale min and max, read the pixel length x in the plot area and when the scale is changed (event) recalculate and pull scale "lin".

    -draw minor ticks, draw the main graduations and numbers.

    I would just use a scale, add a cursor block him to the plot and use changing the same cursor (read pointindex, get x, y data) to view xStar, x and y

    I posted a vi accidentally in this old thread
