  • Card mother Iona-GL8E MS - 7613 and internal driver SATA compatibility

    I have a 1 TB internal hard drive (SATA2) ST31000528AS and I would add another either a 1 TB ST31000524AS (SATA 3) or 2 to ST2000DL003 (SATA3).

The 3 SATA would work on this motherboard? I do not fear speed SATA 3 (6 gb/s) being the speed of SATA 2(3gb/sec) as long as they work.

I'm leaning towards the 2 TB as the cost of the options is mininal compared to the 1 TB.

    Hello

You have a newer PC, so I don't foresee a problem using a 2 GB hard drive.

  • Can I switch to an Intel Pentium D 945 on a card mother Napa-GL8E?

Hello, I have a HP Pavilion a6403w with an Intel Dual - Core processor E2160 (1.8 GHz) on a card mother Napa-GL8E. I would like to know if it is possible to switch to an Intel Pentium D 945 (3.4 GHz) on this motherboard. Before that everyone goes to the top and say no, I read a few post image Core 2 s running on this motherboard. And if an Intel Pentium D 945 would not work, what else would be a good upgrade for my PC? Thank you.

(Edit: Opps, I posted this in the wrong forum.)

    Computer a6403w and Napa-GL8E pages care about motherboard;

    Type of socket: 775
Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades
Intel Core 2 Duo (Wolfsdale) E8xxx
    Core 2 Duo E6xxx until E6850 (Conroe)
Pentium (Conroe) E2xxx series with Dual Core E2160 technology
    Core 2 Duo E4xxx (Conroe)
Celeron 4xx series (Conroe) until Celeron 450

Based on this information, the Pentium D 945 only is not supported on this platform. Referring to your "multiple posts reading" on quad-core Core 2 on the Napa, the information relates mainly to non - OEM versions (read no HP) of the Board of Directors. Sumsolstice mentions the internal docs showing micocode updated but does not purely and simply that it will work. The best processor would probably be the Core 2 Duo (Wolfsdale) E8xxx series.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I can't back up the HARD drive to fix. The old tower is more regognizes the HARD drive either. What I read this other safety device to prevent theft. I have to chalk this up to my lack of knowledge on the MPT and BitEncrypt software. I'll just have to buy another copy of Windows, and to reformat my HARD drive or buy a new HARD drive so I can't reformat. I wish I had found this forum until I "shot myself in the foot' on this one. • ESXi 3.5 does not start after the failure of the card mother SATA port 0.

I have a DELL PE1800 with ESXi 3.5 U3 Server installed on HD1. The card mother port SATA 0 failed. I bought a new sata, Rosewill RC-218 controller card. Installed and attached hard drives. Configured the BIOS to disable the integrated and restarted sata controller. Now ESXi 3.5 will not start.

My old configuration has two hd with ESXi 3.5 U3 on disk 1 and my VM on disc 2. Now no drives are seen by ESXi 3.5. Yet see bios of them.

Another thing you could try is to install ESXi on a USB key. http://www.yellow-bricks.com/2008/07/29/ESXi-35-update-2-on-a-USB-memory-key/

Plug your storage space on good sata port. I have an eye for a sata controller from dell PERC 5 can be had quite cheaply on ebay and others.

  • The card mother MS-7184 (AmethystM) in my old HP PC takes in AHCI mode?

First of all, thank you for taking the time to read my post!

I recently bought an OCZ Aligity 4 256 GB SSD drive. I want to use the SSD as drive replacing the original hard drive in my old HP Pavilion Media Center TV m7334n desktop PC. Here is the link to my pc:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/product?cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en&product=1821850

I know that the motherboard identified on the Web site above for this model of PC is A8AE-(AmberineM), but the motherboard I have is MS-7184 (AmethystM), the specifications of the motherboard is here:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00378480

I updated the BIOS with the latest version (3.47, 03/03/2006) I can found on the HP website. In the BIOS, I can't find any info on the AHCI support. My questions are:

1 - is the card mother MS-7184 (AmethystM) in my old HP Pavilion Media Center TV m7334n Desktop PC support AHCI mode?

    2. how to configure CMOS when I use the SSD as my main drive on the old HP computer?

Note Please that I have aleady copy drive hard whole orginal on the new SSD and I started my computer on the new SSD. This works. I have another post questions on the recovery of the system on the SSD, the post is here:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-operating-systems-e-g/system-recovery-doesn-t-work-on-cloned-SS...

    Thank you!

    You are the very welcome.

I leave these settings at their default values.

You have the SSD connected to sata port, and it must operate to the maximum 150 Mbps transfer speed, 133 or 100 no matter what readings are displayed, as would an IDE drive.

The problem is that since there is no AHCI setting, the drive cannot enjoy the native command files or TOPPING.

Aside from that, an SSD should be better that a standard SATA I mechanical drive or IDE hard drive.

Even subjectively, you should 'see' a difference in sensitivity of disc, not you?

Improved time, faster startup time for research, for example.

After replacing the card mother a Qosmio G10-120 original Win Xp MCE with the official update (FC43S1 A5A001749010 P000454980 jury), some problems have arisen:

    1. second HARD drive internal no more seen.
    2. all buttons stop "standby/disable rebooting the computer" do not completely take effect (office closed way unexpected but manual power button continues to show the color blue and portable remains active).
    3. always on cooling fan.

    Upgrade the motherboard consisted of:

    1. creation of new channels DMI Council (in particular "Model name" field was set to "Qosmio G10").
    2. loading the CD-ROM TCN0000006 official update tool.
    3. no recovery BIOS or EC/KBC.

    Any idea?

I m wondering how you did update the information in the DMI?
As far as I know that the Toshiba authorised service provider is able to update information DMI as the model name, version number, etc. using utilities and special tools.

I googled for the motherboard part number, you have deposited in your original thread, and it seems that this motherboard has been developed the Qosmio F15 series.

OK, I found the appropriate drivers!

    ATI drivers:

Drivers of North Bridge: catalyst 8-12_vista32-64_sb_72277

SMBus, & IDE drivers: catalyst 8-12_vista32-64_72274 - run the program so it extracted all files in c:/ATI do get out. Then manually install two IDE controllers and SMBus drivers by using Device Manager.

Also, I solved the problem with the hardware interupts. The on-board USB controller and suport Legacy interfere with the video card. To fix this go into the BIOS and under Advanced, disable Legacy support. Then in Device Manager disable all three usb controllers. These controllers have been disabled as soon as the missing of interruptions. I'll get a PCI usb so I can still have USB ports.

I'd rather than PCIe PCI for this purpose.

HP liked SIIG for a number of their SATA PCI slot cards.  SIIG has updaters for these maps on its web site, and the pilots understand place in Windows 8.  Here's what I recommend if you want to only two new SATA internal ports:

    http://h30094.www3.HP.com/product.aspx?SKU=3062195&mfg_part=SC-SAT212-S4&pagemode=CA

There is also a card HP SIIG eSATA that HP has used, and I have also used that... it worked great.  It has two eSATA ports and no port SATA internal:

    http://h30094.www3.HP.com/product.aspx?cache=2012565552&culture=en-us&SKU=2850719

In addition, you can connect a single SATA hard drive on an eSATA port (the reader would need external power supply) for formatting, etc.  For that you need a cable with eSATA on one end and a connector type SATA internal regular on others... it is so much easier than to open the box and play with the internal cables.  The best quality I've found for those who are Macgurus.com or Granitedigital.com.  Opt for a shorter (1 m) rather than a longer therefor version if you choose to do so, in order to reduce the risk of interference (which I have never seen this):

Macgurus told them are indicated for the generation SATA I, II and III, and they are a little cheaper for a length of 1 m of the granite.  Both are excellent companies.

Finally, there is a HP SIIG PCI with combined eSATA/SATA, with a player external eSATA and SATA port internal:

    http://h30094.www3.HP.com/product.aspx?SKU=2850718&mfg_part=SC-SA1012-S1&pagemode=CA

I'd stick with HP SIIG solutions and probably buy directly from HP for this unless you can find the same for much less expensive on eBay.  The cards have had several revisions, and I think that if you get your HP, you would later.

  • Card mother H-IG41uATX HP works @ 1066 Mhz with single 2GB 1333 Mhz RAM

    Hello

    My card mother H-IG41uATX HP works @ 1066 Mhz with single 2GB 1333 Mhz RAM (Apacer PC-10600) @ 7-7-7-20.

    BIOS is Version 6.08, 07/07/2011.

BIOS it detected as PC-8500. CPUZ shows like PC-10700 work clocked at 533 Mhz (= 1066 MHz DDR).

The processor is Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo E 8400 3.06 GHz with FSB 1333 MHz.

    WIndows 7 operating system

    1. Why does is not able 1333 Mhz motherboard @ full speed?

    2 working memory @ 1066 MHz @ 7-7-7-20 VS memory work @ 1333 MHz @ 9-9-9-24, which is better?

    Khelifi

Sure... While theoretically fastest speed of memory should be faster, there is little or no difference in the overall performance of the memory. The memory CASE latency generally increases the rated speed increases. Latency means basically 'backwardness' and this latency to counterbalance the gain by increasing the speed. Still, you would never notice a difference between the two.

It always starts in safe mode, but I can't understand what is wrong. The old processor is a pentium 4 3 ghz, not sure what the motherboard was, new processor is AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual core 4200 + and I only know that the motherboard is an ASUS socket AM2. Device Manager does not recognize the CPU correctly, it shows just two entries called processor. As far as I can tell, it's almost certainly a driver issue, but I don't know how to diagnose or fix this. I am running windows XP home, I removed my video card, running 2 hard drives at 120 g (M) and 200 g (S), a DVD drive (M) and a reader of CD (S), and a stick of RAM to 1 GB.

If you have made the change without having to reinstall XP, you will be taking and Pray H@ll. the best thing to do would be to reinstall XP and make sure you have the drivers available for your motherboard available so that you can update the installed chipset. In addition, be aware that if you have an OEM of Windows version, the license is dead when you changed the mother/CPU card.

    I hope this helps.

Yes, but in order to be check secure web site of technical support from the manufacturer of the motherboard for Windows XP device drivers. If the drivers are available for download, then you know for sure that XP is compatible.
