Vertical line on the left margin of all pages printed (1200 HP)

Hello:

Everything I print, on some paper, a vertical line scraggly appears in the left margin area. In my view, it is ink that has leached out, but I don't know where or how clean it. Ink cartridge seems solid. TIA and Happy New Year.

Take a look at your fuser unit, could be something wrong with that.  Make sure you leave cool before you go poking in there.  If this isn't the case, it might be a mark on your imaging drum.

    Yes, thank you. It was under warranty with HP, so they fixed it. It seems they replaced the raw Panel and she came back that all fixed as good as new.

    HP trouble shoot said there is nothing wrong and test page prints fine.  Then back to the problem so try to print.

    HI @philg2,

    I see your thoughts produce a wide margin left and right of the page is cut off. What program are you printing from, and this occurs when you print from all programs or just a particular program?

    I see your post that this is not happening when you print a test page, so I think the problem is somehow related to the driver or program that you use. Let's start with the HP print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that allows to quickly resolve problems printing, scanning and connectivity, including but not limited to:

  • What is the wheel yellow in the left margin of the subject field of the thread pane?

    Today, some, but not all of the unread mails had a small symbol yellow like the Sun wheel in the left margin of the pane Inbox thread.
    The symbol appears in the same area where the other e-mails can have small arrows indicating that I responded to an email.

    When I click on a such mail, it goes to State reading (normal font as opposed to "BOLD"), and the wheel also goes.

    While trying to ask this question, I had to request a reset password, and after you receive that mail, the last unread message remaining which had this wheel, had more of her. I am therefore unable to make a screenshot showing the symbol. However, it consists of a circular yellow box with a large number of short black lines in the radial direction, places evenly along the perimeter inside the yellow box, forming a ring or radial lines.

    If you know the symbol, what you call it? What he's trying to say?

    In which case it is important, I use an IMAP account.

    Looks like it's the new message indicator when using threads messages.

  • HP 8740: Vertical lines, while the scanning & photocopies

    I bought a new HP8740 about three weeks ago and everything worked well until today.

    Now I have black vertical lines down the scan or photocopy.

    First of all, I turned off the printer for 30 seconds and put the plug directly into the wall.  It did not work.

    I turned off - unplugged for 5 minutes - but still has the black lines.

    Can someone please suggest something else I can try.

    Hello @gouldian, thank you very much for your answer.

    The only difference between the analysis of the dumpster and using the ADF is where scanning occurs. Uses of the ADF Strip glass (1 "wide) toward the left side of the pane of glass for analysis. Cleaning if ideally white scanner ADF lid and glass ADF scanner should have solved the problem.

    I suggest you to do a blank copy on ADF, keep the page in front of you and carefully clean the place, you get the line in the band scanner & the white plastic strip.

    If the issue is always I suggest you to clean the ADF mechanism itself. You can watch a video of HP http://hp.care/2bYt7Qu that will help you to do this. The video is made using the Officejet 8600 printer, but it's the same for your printer as well.

    Please let me know what happens. Thank you!

  • IE 7 does not take into account the left margins

    I just upgraded to IE 7 to begin to test my Web site and noticed that IE 7 ignores the parameters of left margin on left floats and all pages in my basket. The CSS is basically the same thing for the main site and the shopping cart, but for some reason any IE 7 uses the left margin of my main website, unless there is a div floating left, but in my pages of basket shopping with the same CSS code, he ignores the left margins all together. The only difference is that the shopping cart uses tables for layout. I removed the main layout tables and used my CSS div. All the world did this experiment with IE 7? Is there any solution for this? Thanks for any help. JD

    My basket - without floats but no margin left http://www.discwritecd.com/sunshop/html/15-Second-Video-Ad.html

    Well apparently I did something on some pages that has been set by the Holly Hack, which apparently IE 7 bed is no longer.
    This is the Holly Hack, who was in the original CSS file:
    / * WinIE5 has the following selector to display the padding in #content. This comment may not be in the switch or it will trigger the end of the skin of the Jersey. */
    / * hide from MacIE------* /.
    * html #content {}
    height: 1%;
    }
    / * end hide * /.

    Once I deleted it from the main CSS file and put it in a specifec IE CSS file everything has been right once again. And of course he hasn't needed the selectors MacIE stars hide more is simply:
    #content {}
    height: 1%;
    }

    For anyone who is still trying to figure it all out, rather than create a separate file, this could be done in the header of each page after the link to the main CSS file, like:

    However since my cart is dynamic php, instead add the code to each page, I had to add a line of code in my header template file as follows:

    I still had to change all static HTML pages in my site which is a pain. JR

  • Flashing of the vertical lines in the tab bar?

    There are small vertical lines in the tab bar. They appear after the closing of the tabs. They are flashing, then change places when I place the cursor on any Firefox buttons or bars. And sometimes, they are flashing and the text cursor in the address bar of mirror.

    Disable all modules and themes does not affect them.

    I'll try to add a screenshot of the problem.

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

    The url of the problem page is shown below. When the 4 additional columns will have been completed and sent to the printer, the left margin is 3 ", which does not show the 2 right hand colums in portrait mode.
    Before installing latest versions 5 and 6 of Firefos all columns have been printed.

    In my first attempt (Firefox 6), he did cut the 2 right columns, so I followed the advice of the-edmeister and changed to landscape. Then I reset my portrait layout and with "Shrink to the width of the page" checked, all 5 columns show in portrait view.

  • Satellite M70-339 vertical lines on the screen

    Hello...

    I have a Satellite M70-339, which will show only the vertical lines on the screen.
    I connected an external monitor and booted in safe mode.
    I uninstalled the display drivers.
    I started to monitor and reinstalled the display drivers.
    The computer will now boot up screen.

    I put the display to indicate to both monitor and screen.

    On the monitor, all right.
    On the screen, I get vertical lines color, similar to a wallpaper (wallpaper is not pretty).

    Did anyone has got any ideas what could be the problem, or how to diagnose the problem
    Any help would be appreciated.

    John C

    If everything is OK on the external monitor that is the best evidence that this problem is related to the internal LCD. Display must be exchanged.

  • Qosmio G10 has vertical lines on the screen

    I have a G10 which I use for the last 15 months since I bought it.
    However, there are now 4 vertical lines on the screen, 2 Purple (magenta?), 1 yellow and 1 cyan. Other than these lines there are no other problems, it never fell down or something like that.

    The lines are still there, they do not change in any way and are always in the same place. They appear on the screen at first power up, before the Qosmio logo lights up.

    They have not all appear at the same time, they all appeared individually in the past two months. I've seen the last of them disappear briefly, then stay on.

    I guess that my screen is dying slowly, I guess to be an expensive item.

    Any advice thrown my way would be greatly appreciated!

    I took a picture of the screen you will find at:

    Note: the photo was taken with Media Player full screen on a black image, just to clearly show the lines)

    Hello

    I suggest you connect an external display to check if it's a graphics card or a display problem. If cela pipes appears also on the external screen then it could also be a problem with the graphics card.
    If these lines do not appear on the external display while the display of the laptop has a malfunction.
    However, this does not change your situation. I recommend you contact the Toshiba ASP to solve this problem.

  • Satellite P30-110: vertical lines on the screen - Virus?

    I have a 110 - p30 and emerged recently vertical on my screen I have run norton AV and nothing was found is a possible virus any help appreciated because I don't want to lose all my work.

    Hi Dave

    If you don't want to lose your work trial to save on a way you like it (data CD/DVD or copy files on the external HARD disk device).

    I don't really know if the vertical lines are the result of some viruses, but I believe some hardware malfunction can be responsible for this. Just detailed test can give more answers. In your case the best solution is to backup all important data and preinstall the device with the recovery media. On this way the unit will be own pre-installed and you can check if the lines happen.

    If so, there are certainly a hardware problem. Sorry, but in this way it is not easy to give you more answers. Please back up your data. If the problem will be much worse than what you have a big problem.
