It worked, but then some links do not open in a new window when they were supposed to. So I changed the value back to 3 and restarted the computer. Everything works now so don't know what the real problem was.

  One possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

  Delete all rules for Firefox in the list of permissions in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

  We have a TON of computers with Acrobat 9 Pro.  They have been working well, but today I had a ton of calls not being able to print to PDF.

  When you try to distill the accidents with:

  And old computer that was on Acrobat 9 works, updated to 9.2, worked, upgrade 9.5.3 = Busted as indicated above.

  You need to open the Profile Manager to create a new profile if you are not able to find the file profiles.ini.
