Very slow application on Portege R500 laptop
Hello
I'm having a problem with Sage Line 50 V13 - 2007 (please don't stop reading!) on two laptops of R500 Centrino Duo. Two laptops have 1 GB of RAM and U7600 1.2Ghz processors. I am posting this in the Sage forums and call wise too. All Sage updates are installed.
Registration of the activity of a single wise client causes Sage hang for a minute and twenty seconds before displaying the results. During this time that the EXE of Sage takes about 9% CPU, the CPU total use plane around 10%. Use of the network (switched 100 MB link) is about 1% use. Laptops are connected to the network, not to a docking station, and I tried the CPU frequency in the Toshiba Control Panel applet on strong and dynamic. It is not to open a report in an external program, this is purely Sage. Other laptops and computers open this screen activity in about a second, their specifications as follows:
Old Toshiba PentiumM 1.3 Ghz, 504 MB RAM
XXX T7200 Core 2, 2 GHz 1 GB RAM
Destop PC: Intel 3040 @1. 86 Ghz Dual Core 1 GB
I tried to set the processor affinity Sage EXE process to one or the other CPU instead of two, to no avail.
All the world has the same problem? Thank you very much in advance for any ideas or suggestions.
Great info, it might be useful for someone else

Very low volume on Portege R500
The volume on my R500 (R500 - 11 c to be exact) is ridiculously low. Only with the volume at maximum (100) and using headphones I hear nothing, and even in this case, it is far too low to be useful. I can just do the test sounds to the left and then good listener when using his test detected in Control Panel-> Sound-> speakers (there no helmet to choose)-> Properties-> Advanced-> test. Unplug the headphones I hear nothing in the speakers, because of the (very low) sounds made by the fan and HARD drive. Play music (with headphones) I can just do the sounds are produced, but I can't even on what is happening.
I tried the things mentioned in the "Satellite 5105-S901 sound is very low (even at max volume) to aid driver Toshiba ' thread without success (including the Loudness equalization).
I am running Vista Business 32 bit and have tried the driver_audio_realtek26117B.exe, driver_audio_realtek_TC00157600B.exe and Vista_Win7_R243_x86.exe the driver files and also used the util_mute_off_25847B.exe utility.
Enabling silent makes the already weak sounds go completely silent, so I don't think it's a matter of mute.
Jack detection works, I can see that in the Realtek HD Audio Manager program. Using sound test of this program (Configuration of the speakers) I have to go to a completely silent, and even in this case I can't hear something on the right headphone. (I think, it's darn so low, that I could imagine I hear.)
Decreasing the volume slider sound 100 harder almost inaudible noise similarly points out, and around 45 it is more audible even in a quiet room with headphones.
So it seems that I somehow need to reset the audio chip in a 'normal' level Or it is broken and does not display anything more audible.
Does anyone have ideas, what I can try next? I can boot XP or Linux, if anyone has any ideas on how to get her here, just to start. (They are silent as well, I did not like extensive tests under those as Vista).
Hello
According to your message, you have tried to increase the volume by using all possible options
Have you tried to increase the volume in Control Panel-> Realtek HD audio manager?
Check this boxYou also tried to update the Realtek audio driver.
Did you use the Realtek page directly?
Check it!If this will not help, you might try the laptop with the new system recovered
But if this does not improve the volume, then this could be a hardware problem

CS6 departure signs and very slow application
When I start InDesign, "from panels' part of the boot process hangs for a while. After about 2-3 minutes, the app will be charge. However, when I'm in charge, passage of one pallet to another (for example, pages to layers) - literally - takes 30 seconds. During the major part I the rotation beach ball. Has anyone else seen elsewhere?
I trashed my prefs: no love.
Uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign: no love.
OS: 10.8
computer: iMac 27 "2.93 i7 with 16 GB of RAM
Other applications of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are very good.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Do you have any software like Suitcase fusion font management or fonts Expolrer?
Also, you can check in safe mode.
In my view, that the issue could be a third-party plugin, which may be causing that.

Portege R500 Toshiba 19AV505D TV LCD connection
I want to connect my Portege R500 laptop to a Toshiba 19AV505D LCD TV.
I tried to use a HDMI VGA cable and change the screen resolution of 800 x 600 and 16-bit color, but it does not recognize the tv.
Any ideas?Device manual says use a DVI cable to HDMI and I tried this first with a VGA Converter (as there is no socket DVI on the R500) but that didn't work either.
Would be a SCART to VGA cable work? What VGA-> HDMI adapter are you using?
What version HDMI support?
Maybe the TV requires HDMI v1.2 or v1.3 (see user manual)

Portege R500: What DVI port duplicator would be compatible
Hello
Does anyone know what DVI port duplicator supports the portege R500 laptop.
When I look at the product and its accessories none of the replicators of ports lists the portege R500 as a notebook taken in charge.Maybe there isn't one right now?
Hello
I also used the Web from Toshiba site Options & accessories search and found the following:
-Dynadock - USB Universal Docking Station with video (DVI) Phase 2 PA3542E-2PRP
-Slim Port Replicator 2 PA3603E-1PRP
-USB 2.0 Port Replicator II (Ethernet / EU Version) PX1173E-1PRPIf you need additional information on these individual devices then simply google for these reference numbers.

Portege R500 - remove 'Eject the PC' from the menu pinned using pyrite station
We run for Toshiba Portege R500 laptop in Windows XP Professional SP2 environment.
Toshiba tools are installed to allow UN/hot docking on laptops.
Portege R500 laptop computers come with the Slim Port Replicator docking station.During the docking of the laptop, 2 "pinned" items appear in the start menu called 'Eject the PC' and ' Eject PC and sleep. "
We found that because of our custom build and Toshiba tools, there are a few conflicts.
Most of these conflicts have been resolved, except for one that was recently found. When a user selects the option "Eject PC", it works as expected, however when the user plug their docking station back in, the port replicator is inactive (in other words, all the functions of the mouse, keyboard, cable LAN, etc. which are connected to the Port Replicator become unusable).
To remedy the situation, a restart of the computer is required to do and everything works then according to normal again. To avoid users to do this, is there a way to remove the icons "Eject PC" & "Eject PC and Sleep" be pinned?
Of course the added items can be deleted under the user's profile, but when the laptop is returned, these added items return.I tried to add a few registry keys to see if NoEject can be set to prevent this.
Hello
> To avoid users to do this, is there a way to remove the icons "Eject PC" & "Eject PC and Sleep" be pinned?
It is not known to me
I think that everything can be changed by using the right registry and value, but I have never tried this. But my knowledge of the Toshiba * Mobile Extension * tool controls this function.
On the page of Toshiba Europe, you might find a more recent version: 3.87.00I think you should update this tool.

HP 110-243w: desktop HP 110-243w very very slow
My elderly mother of 10 years of emachine with 1 GB of ram and simple memory layer dead so I quickly ran to the Wal-Mart the only store in town that sells computers and bought the best office they had with a quad processor, 8 GB ram, 1 TB of HDD and Windows 8, since updated to 8.1. A few months earlier, I had bought a computer laptop gateway with processor quad, ram 6 GB, HDD 750 GB at WalMart when my 12 year Dell, started having modem problems and was very happy with the speed of the new gateway. (I don't like windows 8, but the machine is fast.)
This HP 110-243w is slow, very slow. Loading facebook my laptop charge 2 seconds - my laptop Dell 12 year, took about 4 seconds. On the HP 110-243w, it takes 2-5 minutes before I can scroll down. If I want to go back a screen it again stalls for 1 to 4 minutes before it scrolls. Often, the whole page should reload. I tried to run on wifi like laptops. I am currently connected to the FIOS modem. A speed test shows 58 MB/s download and download 61 MB/s, but when I try to load a real Web page, speed disappears. Drivers HP page took more than three minutes, when I chose my windows OS 8.1, it took 4 minutes before loading the driver screen. When I click an option such as "audio drivers", it took 90 seconds to show 2 possible drivers.
I downloaded everything new nd drivers installed. I ran drive optimizers, acceleration routines, etc. It's always incredibly slow. I stopped the virus checker and other monitoring software and firewalls, and it is still slow.
I'm about to buy just another new no HP desktop. Anyone know how to speed up this HP 110-243? Does anyone know another CPU and/or the gpu that could be installed plug-and - play to replace the standard?
Personally, I was not amused that you bought a computer with a processor at 1.5 GHz, with a combination of processor (CPU) and the graphics chip (GPU) all shipped in a single chip to speed. And then you said that it was the best office that Wal-Mart had.
It is not the best of HP. The model of 'w' is a special Wal-Mart.
He was rated by guests very badly and voted 3.3 5. This means a score of 65%.

Portege R500 boot very slow when wireless
Hello
There was a post about it in April, but the only proposed solution was to create two distinct hardware profiles.
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=117662The laptop is a model of ppr50e-04x048en.
In the following scenarios, it gives the indicated start-up speed:
-Switch physical wireless off, network cable connected - Normal
-Switch physical wireless off, network cable unplugged - Normal
-Physical wireless switch on, cable connected network - Normal
-Physical wireless switch on, network cable unplugged - very very slow
It's so slow that sometimes you don't get bored after 10 minutes of waitingThere must be a better solution than separate hardware profiles?
> There must be a better solution than separate hardware profiles?
Don t think that there is a better solution, it was clearly explained in another view why the laptop does need more to start while the WiFi is enabled.
If the WiFi is on the phone looking for a possibility to start from the WLan or research for some settings that might be received by WLan.On the other hand, you could try updating the BIOS and could check in the WLan card properties-> Advanced tab if there are some settings which could be disabled like Wake up option or similar.

Re: Portege R500 - slow start when no network
Hello
We have several laptops from Toshiba Portege R500 used by mobile workers.
When they are in the Office that they start fine (connected to the network). But when not connected to the network, they take several minutes to start up to the logon screen.
I checked the boot sequence and the LAN is the last still start on the internal HARD disk.No idea why they are so slow start when not connected?
Hello
I understand that your notebook is in the field and use parameters that are applied in the company network.
Maybe the Vista (or XP) looking for these settings if you are not connected to the office network and the entire procedure takes a little longer
May I ask what anti-virus do you use?
Sometimes antivirus software might affect the start and might slow the procedure as a whole. -

I have a HP laptop with Windows 7 (OS) with 64 bit, but very slow. Can you suggest a way to start my fast pc? Most of the time it doesn't quite work.
Hello
There are a number of possible reasons, your computer may run slowly - virus infection or malware, missing to defragment the hard drive, too many programs loading at startup - and all with different causes / solutions. So here goes:
Virus/Malware - Download, install and run these scanners (only Avast so you do not have your own antivirus installed):
Malwarebytes': http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html .
SuperAntiSpyware: http://download.cnet.com/SuperAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html .
Avast Antivirus: http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10019223.html .
Disk Defragging - install and run this app: http://download.cnet.com/Auslogics-Disk-Defrag/3000-2094_4-10567503.html .
Startup programs - install this application, then select start only the programs you need to run at startup, as your antivirus, firewall, but not your Disk Defragmenter (examples):
Splash Guard: http://download.cnet.com/Startup-Guard/3000-2239_4-10958203.html.
Also, your system's drivers are up-to-date? Updated the driver can also slow down your system. Go to HP.com and insert the complete your laptop model number in the search box to find your latest drivers.
Let me know if these speed up your pc.
Kind regards
BearPup
