  Hi Gerry. There is an option to remove the old date within the FMS. Vizioncore gave me a doc that explains it.
  in the left menu, go to foglight-> servers-> data-> vmware model management
  Here, you can select the vc to remove... but be careful with what you remove! Make sure that the right vc :-)
  If you led the whole tree and restart the service of Fogle, it should disappear... give fms a few minutes to delete (depends on the size of the data) before restarting the service... cheers, patrik

• Move mysql embedded db to another drive

  Hello
  My embedded mysql db is close to running out of space and I want to migrate to a different drive on the same host. Is there a documentation or someone can point out the orders on how to do this? I read the Guide installation and Appendix in vFoglight 6.5 installation: installation on Windows with an embedded MySQL database. But that only applies if you migrate the db to an external host.

  If you use the embedded MySQL db, it must be in the directory vFoglight. Displacement of db incorporated outside the vFoglight directory is not supported.
  That said, you can install MySQL on your computer with the data on the disk files that you choose and move migrate db into an instance of 'external' (running locally on the same machine).

• Data collector on Windows 2012, the installation fails.

  Hi guys.  I have a problem of noob :(

  I try to install a Suite of Enterprise Manager, so my no are this:

  1. Windows Standard 2012 x86.64 server, 12 GB RAM, 4 cores.
  2. 5.6 MySql database local, x86.64.
  3. Enterprise Manager 6.2.2
  4. Installation is OK.

  Configuration:

  Type data collector: primary data collector

  Database: MySql database.

  OS Services Information: Local service account.

  Data source properties œuvres very well (tables are created in the mysql database).

  The SMI - S server properties. Not active.

  Finally, the setup assistant shows this error:

  OKS, I think I found the problem.

  Whell, to install the latest version of java: 7u21 Jre. But 7u21 has same bugs: (.)

  So, I uninstalled jre 7u21 and I installed 7u17, and Setup works very well XD.

  Don't forget: Java 7u21 is a villain, use an older version.

• Performance indicators not available on a new Installation of vFoglight 6.8 (5.6.7)

  I just installed vFoglight 6.8 (Foglight 5.6.7) on RHEL 6.4 that uses an external database on MS SQL.

  He has worked for 24 hours.

  I'm not able to view access or report on measures of performance on any one of the CV, DataCentres, ESX, banks of data or VM host.

  All the vCentres and items such as the names of the hosts, vms and datatores are visible and show if fed the pages of summary on or outside and there.

  Just no Performance Metrics (CPU, disk, Mem, and network).

  I did install a fix for the VMWare-Performance 5.6.7.1 cartride and update the agents as well as updating the FGLAM to 5.6.7.2.

  Always the same problem after these checks:

  Database access is correct

  No firewall.

  vCenter administrator access

  Starts the service and the server after each change

  No error detected on the Agent log and no alert agent / errors on the FMS for the agent or the FMS itself.

  Virtual Server installation details:

  RHEL 6.4

  16 GB memory

  4 vcpu

  1 gb card NETWORK

  Java mem: (to the first default)-now Xms8192m and Xmx8192m

  MS SQL DB space available 8 GB to 10 GB (will increase when necessary)

  You seem to have active AutoRun.  Click the start ORB, then type in AutoRun and press ENTER.

  A new box should appear, select the line of software and games, and use the drop-down list to select installation or execution of the program.  Click Save.

  Press the tab open on the DVD/CD drive and then close it (with your disk of Age of Empires, always in the drive)... now the installation option should appear.

  Enjoy the game!

• No background music in Age of Empires II Collectors Edition.

  There is no background music in AoE II and AoE II Expansion.
  I tried just about anything and have scoured the internet for people with the same problem.
  Apparently, the problem is unusual for the collectors edition, as the background music for AoE II remains on the cd, after installation, to broadcast while playing the game.
  I tried different things, but none were successful.

  Yes, I turned up the volume on the computer and has nothing to do with a button "On / off music" non-existent.

  This may help for future reference. If DVD media does not contain files in a first time, you are out of luck. If so, it is probably compressed in a format to archive, similar to what Activision did with the development of their game. Different may be a compatibility issue with this game and CD/DVD drives. Originally, if I'm not wrong, an audio cable should be connected to the sound card of the user and the CD/DVD drive to transmit data to the audio chipset. New disks do not use technology.

  This could help:

  Click Start, click Control Panel, click performance and Maintenance and then click System.
  Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
  Click on the + (plus sign) next to CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives, click your CD-ROM drive, and then click Properties.
  Click to check the digital audio CD activate this CD-ROM devices checkbox and then click OK.
  On the file menu, click on exit to close the Device Manager window.

• Foglight for vFoglight

  Can someone explain to me what looks like a transition from Foglight to vFoglight?  Is this documented somewhere. Is this a new install, or we will be abel to keep existing history, etc...

  The past several versions of vFoglight are actually identical to Foglight + vFoglight cartridge.  Install the cartridge on the current version of Foglight vFoglight offers similar functionality to the installation of pre-packaged vFoglight.

  There should be no effect on the existing data collected from things like servers, databases, etc.

  Note that the cartridge vFoglight requires a separate license, is not surprising, and you should always consider your existing FMS capacity before adding further data collection process.

  The installation process is to obtain a license key, download of the cartridge on the support site and download it in your FMS.  Perhaps takes 10 min to be ready to connect to Virtual Center and begin collecting data.

  Note that, vFoglight brings together a lot of information.  Depending on the number and the size of your virtual centres, you could consider the deployment of 1 or several additional VMs of FGLAM just for the collection of data in Virtual Center.  Put the FGLAM on the Virtual Center Server directly is possible, but not best practices.

  In addition, you should review the configuration of the agent for any VMs who will now be collected through vFoglight cartridge and turn off CPU/memory/Network Infrastructure data collection as both cartridges could fill the same properties on host objects unnecessarily.

  Finally, you don't want to use the VMware-> VMware environment-> Administration tab for the deployment of new agents, which gives you the opportunity to collect up to 30 days of history existing Virtual Center when new agents are deployed, an option that is not available through the Administration-> Agents-> Agent status screen.  Once the story has been collected, then agents can be administered through the screen of the status of the Agent as other officers.

• Integrate vFoglight Pro with Foglight

  We have deployed in our environment Foglight. We recently bought Foglight and ti want to integrate this into the Foglight console. Are there guides to installation on how to perform this task?

  Hi mhurst120,
  I'm sure you can simply import the new Pro vFoglight license in and features that are part of the pro version should be unlocked but you may have to restart the Foglight management service.
  What version do you currently use? An upgrade might be available that you can then point to the new license file.

  Just set up a new installation on vFoglight 6.6.1. Everything seemed to be fine, however the initial logon page is not display to the screen below. I checked the services, the start page is all green and netstat reports that the server is listening on 8080. Any help would be appreciated.

• question of 6.6 and Hyper-v vFoglight

  I installed vFoglight 6.6 and integrated in my Hyper-V host, however, the data collector continues to stop on the host and a mistake is genrated that suggests "the agent is having trouble connecting to the remote host. Please make sure that the host is in place and properly configured.

  Everything seems fine to me, I can ping the host, UAC is disabled, firewall is disabled. Does anyone have any other suggestions, what should I look for?

  What version of Hyper-V are you running? What is the authentication method (WMI/WinRM) the agent uses? My suggestion would be to open a support case to investigate the issue further.

• SharePoint 2010 dash for vfoglight.

  We recently bought vfoglight and our engineer of ICT raves about this development. So it must be good. I noticed it came with cabins to deploy a dashboard to the share point. But can't make it work with Share Point Server 2010. Is there a new dashboard in preparation for 2010 or can point me to a site that documents the installation using the current cabins?

• Foglight v6 - FaultException: impossible to extract the data of inventory of the collector

  After having modernized our virtual center to V4, the foglight fails to report all the details and only has the following alert:
  "FaultException: impossible to extract the data of inventory of the collector: the parameter name cannot be null or an empty string."
  ' Parameter name: key to make sure the collection agent service is running.
  If anyone else has had this problem and how to solve?

  I logged a call with Vizioncore and the resolution is as follows:
  the problem you have is related to a VMware problem experienced during the upgrade to vSphere 4.0 as detailed in: kb.vmware.com/.../search.do
  Bascially, you must run a SQL command of your Virtual Center via MS SQL Management Studio that will identify one or more VMs who have a missing entry in the VPX_VIRTUAL_SCSICONTROLLER table. Once this information is determined that you would follow the steps 2 to 6 of the reolution... basically remove these virtual machines of the inventory and adding them back.
  When these steps are complete, you will re-start the vFoglight Collector of Vmware and Vmware vFoglight connector services.

  The problem is that the port 8000 on the server running the VMware vFog agent. This is the port that the service Colectionneurs & connector communicate on.
  The configuration files need to be changed and the port changed to a port that is not taken.
