vFoglight - moving the database to another SQL Server

Hello

We are moving our vFoglight to a SQL Server database to another SQL (production version) server.  I changed the server/instance name in the foglight.config file to point to the new server and instance and restarted the service (and eventually rebooted as well).  However, vFoglight no longer works.  Is there another step necessary to make it work?

Any help would be appreciated.

See you soon,.

Mark

Hello Mark,

We have to examine FMS log and SQL server log to see what error is to jump, but as a quick check you can check that the server authentication is set to SQL Server and Windows authentication mode in the security settings of your instance of SQL Server.

  • The SRM database move to another SQL Server?

    If I needed to move only the SRM database of there is already a SQL 2005 cluster to another SQL Server, it could be realized without a re - install the MRS?

    Thank you

    Yes, you can make a backup and restore to the new DB or detach and re - join the new DB. From there, just repoint the DSN to point to the new SQL Server and all should be good. If I'm not mistaken, there is a SRMUser that is created in security roles in SQL that will have to be moved also.

  • Database Move Virtual Center connected with ODBC to SQL 2005 server to another SQL server 2005

    Is there any official document of VMware to move VC a server to other sql DB? I would like to move VC DB (connected by ODBC) to another SQl server 2005.

  • Move the database on its own server Vcenter 4

    My current Vcenter Server 4.0 has the Vcenter Server and database SQL 2005 on the same computer. My performance is EXTREMELY slow, as in there more than 15 minutes for the client to connect, Vsphere load inventory and discover plugins until I'm able to use it. Once loaded, clicking on the servers and things within the client is very slow. So I think that by moving the database of its own machine, it will increase the performance of the vcenter server. I was looking in the vcenter admin section, and I can't find a way to 'clear' to tell him to look for the database on a different server.

    Does anyone have any documentation on how to move the vcenter database to another server?

    Thank you!

  • Cannot display the results to the database during "Update": SQL statement

    Hello

    I get this error trying to update a VO via the UI or BCBrowser.

    Cannot display the results to the database during "Update": SQL statement

    This is a default single front & right THAT VO creates on the object of the entity (Database Table)

    On the same table and with the same credentials of DB, I could update the record.

    Any guess on what went wrong?

    Thanks in advance for any help.

    The problem is solved now.

    new columns added to the database table, after the creation of the entity object. Those changes were not picked up in the entity object.

    I found this difference after object entity with the DB Table comparison.

    And when I added these new columns to EO & VO, I don't get this error more.

    One thing surprised me when I close my session it request commit or rollback.
    Although I don't do anything except select.
    I already tried by setting autocommit on, but still getting the same error.

    We create the oracle for sql server before database gateway. This time, few things are different:
    1. the name of the server (on sql server database) contains a '-' hyphen.
    2. name of database server Sql contain also one '-' hyphen.
    2 sql database server for windows 64 - bit OS, prior, we used 32 bits.

    Please let me know if anyone set the Oracle database gateway using dg4odbc and freetds to sql server where the database of sql server resident in 64-bit windows machine.

    Hello
    Thanks for the information. 2.2 UnixODBC driver manager is quite old and there is now one more late 2.3.1 version available here.

    http://www.unixODBC.org/

    by clicking on the tab "Download".
    Can you download and install this version then use in the configuration instead of the 2.2 version?

    Kind regards
    Mike

    Hi Vlad,

    Yes, this can be a problem.
    So check out below:
    a. If you have downloaded the driver (sqljdbc.jar) to the $ORACLE_HOME/jlib
    b. create the user source with sp_addlogin, which should allow the use of sql server authentication.

    Then check again on the issue.

    Thank you
    Sisi

    Hello
    Something like this maybe:

    DELETE FROM dbo.tb1 a
     WHERE EXISTS (
      SELECT 1
        FROM dbo.tb1 b
      WHERE a.co11 = b.col1

       START WITH b.col1 = 12
      CONNECT BY b.col2 = PRIOR b.col1)

    Although you need to do here is to check that CONNECT it BY SELECT, returns records you wait first, then the DELETION should work too.

  • The problem with SQL after the migration of the database to another machine

    Having a SQL strange problem trying to extract a database being moved from one machine to the other.  Both machines are running SQL 2008 32-bit and are both Windows 2008 servers.  When I try to backup the database using the SQL tools and restore the. BAK file on the new SQL Server, I get the following error:

    Restore failed for server 'servername' (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)
    Additional information:
    System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: RESTORE detected an error on the page (44:2097184) in database 'RestoreDBName' read from the backup set.

    Similarly, when I am trying to copy the. MDF and. LDF files to the new server and tie them, I get the following error:

    Attach the database failed for the server 'servername '.
    Additional information:
    An exception occurred during the execution of a Transact-SQL statement or batch.
    A system assertion failed.  An assertion failure is usually caused by a corruption of data or software bug.  To check the database, consider running DBCC CHECKDB.  If you have agreed to send images to Microsoft during installation, a mini dump will be sent to Microsoft.  An update can be an available from Microsoft in the latest Service Pack or a QFE from Technical Support.
    Could not open new database 'NewDatabaseName' create a DATABASE is dropped.
    "" Location: "logmgr.cpp": 3277
    Expression: lfh-> lfh_startOffset is startOffset
    SPID:55
    PID: 292876 (Microsoft SQL Server, error: 3624)

    Everything I've read, these errors usually indicate some sort of database corruption.  However when I run DBCC CHECKDB on the database on the source server, it is up to perfectly don't own... None detected corruption.  In fact, this server hosts 8 different databases.  Departure from all the correct DB on the source server, none of them will restore however to a new server using one of the methods above.  I'm having a hard time to believe that each of them could be corrupted when they show absolutely no indication of a problem.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Try to make the backup and restore via SQLCMD (or via a query in SQL Server MS window).

    The backup will be the following (obviously, change "MaBase" and "D:\BACKUPS" to some database and the location you wish to save - just using for example):

    BACKUP DATABASE MyDatabase

    TO DISK = 'D:\BACKUPS\MyDatabase.bak. '

    WITH NOFORMAT, NOINIT,.

    NAME = 'Database MyDatabase - Full Backup',

    NOREWIND, NOUNLOAD, STATS = 10, SKIP

    Copy your backup to the other server and file make:

    RESTORE the DATABASE to MyDatabase

    FROM DISK = 'E:\Backups\MyDatabase.bak' WITH FILE = 1,

    GO to "MyDatabase_Data" to "E:\SQLDATA\MyDatabase_Data.mdf,"

    GO to "MyDatabase_Log" to "E:\SQLLOG\MyDatabase_Data.ldf,"

    NOUNLOAD, STATS = 10 REPLACE

    Again, change your names and locations in function.

    If this does not work, try to restore a database by third-party tools. You can find them in Google. If you don't want to spend the time to research, you can try a tool SQL Server Recovery Toolbox. All the details about this program on the link. http://www.oemailrecovery.com/sql_repair.html

    I have an ApEx 4.1 application running on x 64 (11.2.0.1) 11g on Windows Server 2008 x 64, and I have a few points of data integration with SQL (2005 and 2008) server that I need to create. I have configured the database with dg4odbc link and it works perfectly... I can run queries on the SQL Server database without any problem using the database link.

    However, there is a scenario where the SQL Server database name is dynamic, and I need to generate on the fly in a PL/SQL block and then use it in a query dynamic SQL (all this in the ApEx). It of wherever I meet problems... when I asked the default database that is based on the ODBC connection and I don't have to specify the name of the database, no problem. But when I need access to one of the several other databases by default, I received the error "invalid table.

    It works well:* (note that 'fv' is the name of my database link)

    I then take this rel_date variable, convert a varchar2 (rel_date_char), then use it as the name of the database in the following query...

    _ It returns an error(error ORA-00903: invalid table name)

    v_query2: = "select"PARTNO": rel_date_char.dbo.ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID' =: calendar and"UnitID"=: unit"
    and 'MasterKey' =: master and "ParentKey" =: parent';

    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE v_query2 in part_number using planning, master, parent unit;

    I also tried using all of the following conditions without result:

    "select"PARTNO"of" | : rel_date_char | '.dbo. ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID '...
    "select"PARTNO"of" | rel_date_char | '.dbo. ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID '...
    "select"PARTNO"of" | @rel_date_char | '.dbo. ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID '...
    "select"PARTNO"in @rel_date_char.dbo.ProdDetails @fv where 'SchedID'..."

    Is it possible to do it in PL/SQL?

    Thanks for any help!

    Just did a test using passthrough:

    SQL > set serveroutput on
    SQL > declare
    2 val varchar2 (100);
    3 c whole;
    4 whole nr;
    5. start
    c: 6 = dbms_hs_passthrough.open_cursor@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3;
    7 dbms_hs_passthrough.parse@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3 (c, "select count (*) from EMP");
    8 LOOP
    9 nr: = DBMS_Hs_Passthrough.fetch_row@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3 (c);
    10 output when nr = 0;
    11 dbms_hs_passthrough.get_value@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3 (c, 1, val);
    12 dbms_output.put_line (val);
    13 end of loop;
    14 dbms_hs_passthrough.close_cursor@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3 (c);
    15 end;
    16.

    So all 3 ways work for me.

    Now, using the variables to make the selection:

    SQL > declare
    2 val varchar2 (100);
    3 c whole;
    4 whole nr;
    5 tabname varchar2 (20): = 'EMP ';
    6 ownr varchar2 (20): = "dbo."
    7 dbname varchar2 (20): = "door";
    Start 8
    c: 9 = dbms_hs_passthrough.open_cursor@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3;
    10 dbms_hs_passthrough.parse@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3 (c, ' SELECT count (*) FROM ': dbname: '.) ' || ownr | '.'|| tabname | ") ;
    11 LOOP
    12 nr: = DBMS_Hs_Passthrough.fetch_row@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3 (c);
    13 when the exit nr = 0;
    14 dbms_hs_passthrough.get_value@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3 (c, 1, val);
    15 dbms_output.put_line (val);
    16 end loop;
    17 dbms_hs_passthrough.close_cursor@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3 (c);
    18 end;
    19.
    24576

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    => instead of executing the statement using the "execute Immediate" we use the PASTHROUGH package to pass the statement to SQL Server.

  • Moving the ASM LUNS from one server to another

    Hi all

    I have ASM 11.2.0.2 on Oracle Enterprise Linux server connected to an IBM DS5100. On a single server, I have a database I want to move to another physical server. It is possible to detach the LUNS from the source server and connect to the new server, and then restart the database, providing I have copy all relevant configurations on the new server? Kinda like the old exportvg/importvg, we in the Unix world. I searched the web but can't find a method to achieve this or if it is still possible. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Gary

    Source server:

    1.) NO.! Because if you drop the diskgroup ASM header gets erased, and the other system won't be able to detect
    2.) NO.! Both dynamically find the disks. If they are simply not there... so they be found. So no information on diskgroup etc.
    The only thing that you should probably take care is to remove the name diskgroup asm_diskgroup parameter form. Otherwise ASM will say that it does not find the diskgroup during startup.
    3.) anyone simply it. Then multipath not detect either...

    Target server:
    1.) Yes. However, you must keep the file multipath.conf for the entries of the same as on the other server, that devices receive the same names. Otherwise the names will be different, which is not nice, but not a problem.
    2.) simply SCAN the discs, and they should be disclosed. Make sure that your SCAN_ORDER and SCAN_EXCLUDE parameters are o.k. for asmlib.
    Yes 3). Simply mount.

    Concerning
    Sebastian
