VGA disabled in EliteDesk 800 (British model)?

I recently bought a Small Form Factor PC H5T99ET http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=H5T99ET&opt=ABU&sel=PBDT 800, but have been able to get even a start on my monitor VGA (VGA-connector VGA) screen. The shop I bought said maybe THAT VGA is disabled in the BIOS. Is this likely?

Since I tried with a DVI DisplayPort connection screen, but this does not work either so I think it is a defective unit and I'm back there.

Before you buy a new one, can anyone tell me if it is likely that the VGA is disabled by default on this PC? If so, that seems very strange, that many older monitors do not have a DVI plug.

Thank you

Hello:

HP business desktop computers, is the only way that the embedded video is disabled if there is an add on PCI express video card installed.

If there is no video card installed, the car of the VGA port or display video should work automatically.

You can try to clear the CMOS and see if that restores the functionality for graphics, but I tend to agree with you that the motherboard is shot.

See Chapter 11 of the repair on how to clear the CMOS.

  • HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF: HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF: using VGA and DisplayPort simultaneously for double configuration monitor

If the title says it all. I'm trying to set up two monitors on my HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF. Here is my configuration:

    1. first monitor (Acer B223W) lights DisplayPort and displays things normally.

    2. second monitor (HP LP2065) is on the VGA port.

The problem is that my second port monitor never gets a signal from the machine and going to sleep mode. Connect the second monitor changes my main screen at a desk empty (no icons, no taskbar, just a plain painted paper), which I believe means it tries to use my VGA monitor as main display.

However, the VGA monitor never seems to show anything. I spent my main screen on the first monitor successfully too, but is not all about him either.

  • EliteDesk 800 G2: SSD will allow only boot UEFI and not appear as a legacy boot option.

    Hello

My company is the purchase of HP EliteDesk 800 G2, some comes with HARD drive and some with SSDS.

Deploy us Windows 7 x 64 using SCCM using legacy startup.

On a machine with installed HARD drive, I can configure the startup options to use legacy boot, but when I replaced the drive to an SSD the only option to start for this drive is UEFI.

This causes the deployment fails because the player needs to be partitioned as TPG.

On the other hand, if I disable the legacy, the UEFI boot PXE boot and partition the drive as GPT, after the deployment of a disk image is unable to start with error 0xc000000d (I guess that the cause is supported in Windows 7 because it does not work on Windows 8.1).

Bottom line, I can install Windows 7 on a HP EliteDesk 800 G2 only if start legacy is enabled and I have partition the drive as UEFI.

Is it possible to force the SSD at startup like legacy and not UEFI?

This problem results from the workstation or is it applied by the SSD?

    Thank you.

    Hi Jay,.

I appreciate you are trying to help.

I guess that there are some problems of communication because it is a business problem and there are other technical components involved that I don't understand.

After some research more, it seems that this problem occurs with a specific model of SSD.

We'll just have to wait for HP support.

    Thank you.

  • HP Elitedesk 800 G2 SFF: external hard drive not detected in the BIOS. Only USB Flash drives are detected.

    Hi all

I received recently 2 new HP desktop computers.

    HP Elitedesk 800 G2 SFF

    HP Elitedesk 800 G2 TWR

The goal is to test our real W7 x 64 image on these machines and to inject the missing drivers in the image.

MDT 2010 to create a deployment on a USB hard disk drive.

This disc of deployment is already used on 16 different models of HP in the company (Elitebook, zBook, EliteDesk) to install our image so I know it works.

Unfortunately, the two HP Elitedesk 800 G2, I can't start the boot disk but I cannot to USB for a USB key.

The USB drive is not detected and not proposed in the BIOS Menu of STARTUP.

Only the internal HD, external USB Flash Disk, DVD and network devices are detected.

Here's what I already checked or tried:

    • Latest Version of the BIOS installed (2.05)
    • UEFI Boot has been disabled. (not supported by our record of deployment)
    • USB ports are enabled (front and rear).
    • All types of USB devices are allowed in the BIOS
    • The start command has been changed to start with USB devices.
    • Legacy support is active and Secure Boot disabled
    • Delete the keys to secure boot
    • Reset secure by default startup keys
    • This morning, I created a new disk deployment on a USB Flash drive and it works!

So, it seems that only Flash USB drives are detected.

I know it is possible to return the flag removalble on a USB device to cheat the system and make it appear as a disk fixed, but I want a simple solution.

Does anyone know a fix or a workaround for this problem?

    Thanks in advance!

For those interested in the answer, here's the final results.

It turns out that the hard 500 GB external drive can be detected if it is fomatted in FAT32.

It's strange because my 16 GB USB Flash drive formatted in NTFS works very well.

In any case, I'll create a FAT32 Partition to the Boot MDT files and put my picture (because the file is too big for FAT32 partition) on the secondary partition (formatted as NTFS).

Thanks to the technical pre-sales team of HP who helped me with this!

  • EliteDesk 800 G1 USDT: usb ports do not provide enough power

We have a scanner usb requiring 500mA of power.  However, for many of our clients using HPs, the usb ports do not provide enough power to the scanner causing the application to crash.  Some customers use the HP EliteDesk 800 G1 USDT, others use HP zero client t310.  Connect the scanner to a usb hub powered solves the problem every time.

Y at - it changes, they can do for the Bus USB controllers to ensure that a particular port will be able to provide 500mA so they did not need to buy a usb powered a system hub?  Or do you have another suggestion?

    Thanks in advance.

I'm not familiar witht eh models accurate but 500MA is the output for USB 2.0 max but 3.0 can go higher have you tried usingn 3.0 ports if not you can also get a cable Hat uses the power of 2 ports.  Many systems have problems with the only Scanners USB and power supply.

  • 800 LTS G2 Elitedesk: How to enable legacy boot on Elitedesk 800 G2

    Hi all

We recently received a sample Elitedesk 800 G2 unit so that we can tailor our solution for OS deployment him before that people in our society early buying.

We use the PXE-boot legacy for deployments so I wanted to set up the machine to make Legacy Boot and set the inherited from PXE first boot order.

Since there is no documentation or the help that I could find, it is a process of trial and error.

I finally managed to get boot inherited the machine by setting secure boot "Enable and disable secure boot" "Advanced" slot and allows the setting "secure boot claire keys»

After a reboot, I was able to disable UEFI and configure the boot order inherited as you wish. Everything worked well.

To validate the procedure I returned the machine back to factory defaults and tried to follow the same steps, but now the parameter 'start secured clear keys' are grayed out and I can't set 'enable and disable secure boot '.

Anyone know how I can get back to boot legacy now? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I thought about it myself, it's for the benefit of third parties:

to switch from secure boot UEFI Legacy Boot on Elitedesk 800 G2 (and others with the same firmware):

    F10-configuration of the BIOS

'Advanced' - 'secure boot configuration', set 'key to secure clear boot '.

    Save & Reboot

machine you ask for a code, enter it and restart.

    F10-configuration of the BIOS

    "Advanced" - "" secure boot configuration ".

    Select 'enable legacy support '.

    Save & Reboot

    F10-configuration of the BIOS

Startup options: Disable 'UEFI boot order' and activate/configure "boot order of inheritance.

    Save & Reboot

Yes, 4 reboots are required unless there is a quicker way that I don't know.

  • Elitedesk 800 G2: Elitedesk 800 G2 - auto standby unwanted on with network boot

    Hi all

I have a problem with my new Elitedesk 800 G2, which I think is related to Wake on Lan. The problem is that I can't find these settings in the BIOS settings. If I'm just blind?

    Description:

Off my PC it remains off for a few minutes. Then, it feeds on and try to network boot. Since I have nothing to start from my home network the attempt fails. After that, it tries to boot from hard drive but also fails because it cannot find a harddrive (?).

Then I have to power cycle the computer to boot normally from the hard disk.

Once it's on, it works perfectly.

I tried upgrading the BIOS yesterday but the problem remains.

    Hello!

    We have solved this problem.

With 2.15 BIOS and Windows installed 10 (we have more old bios/OS installed on this device), enter BIOS-> advanced-> Startup Options-> search

Legacy-> option to disable boot order

    Hello

VGA Splitter splits just the actual display, you'll be just able to reproduce with a dispatcher.

I don't have your model, but nowadays, to access the BIOS on most of these new PC you must type the ESC at the beginning of the HP welcome screen button to display a menu of options.

Then, you select the F10 Setup option and enter the BIOS.

  • Elitedesk 800 LTS G1 reboot on its own

    Hello

We have 20 units of Elitedesk 800 G1 SFF; running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  One unit, an intermittent problem.

Use Shutdown of Windows, the computer turns off.  Some time later, during the night, it turns back on.

Interesting note: we have a power-password set in the BIOS and turning on the results of the computer at a password prompt.  When this unit restarts randomly, it seems to bypass the password and goes directly to screen ctrl alt del to log into Windows.

I tried to turn off all "wake" options I find for the NIC, the mouse, the BIOS settings and even tried the registry to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon «PowerdownAfterShutdown» hack

The BIOS, Chipset are updated, as are all the other drivers offered by HP.

I witnessed the restart once - I stopped, looked at the front of the computer, all the lights were out, and it restarted.  I had not touched a thing.  Of course, I him didn't restart like that in front of me again. :-\

  • 800 Mini G2 EliteDesk: Dual 4K displays with EliteDesk 800 Mini G2?

I have an EliteDesk 800 Mini G2 with the i5 - 6500T CPU and integrated graphics card Intel 530. There are also two DisplayPort connectors. As the title says, I tried to find out if the device supports two monitors 4K 3840 x 2160 @ 60 MHz. The specs seem to suggest that it would work. I'm confirming without having 2 K 4 monitors on site. Anyone know or have experience with a configuration like that?

    The i5 - 6500t supports up to 3 screens to 4096 x 2304 @60 Hz

Implementation of multiple 4K displays with your EliteDesk 800 Mini G2 will work. Your EliteDesk Mini supports up to three displays to the right of the box. I suggest using the displayport output ports.

By pressing on a keyboard or screen sleep button apparently sends computer standby: the screen is black, white power button mouse and keyboard LED off, LED blinks once every two seconds.

However computer not wakes up on a key on the keyboard and pressing a button / a computer turns on, but does boot upward as if it were completely off.

Already checked for the latest version of the BIOS and enabled for keyboard and mouse power management.

    Hi Jaco,

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried to experiment with the settings of power for the keyboard and the mouse, and simply made sure that both are enabled to wake the computer from sleep mode. I began to suspect that he may be the controller USB keyboard to wake the computer asleep, and I've experimented with a PS/2 keyboard without result.

Then I reread in BIOS settings help mode "standby" should be indicated in triple LED flash, and I was getting only single blink of the LED, and I started to look into each option in Advanced settings of the power management and guess what I found?

    THE SOLUTION

When I turned the sleep > allow hybrid sleep set Off, "sleep mode" started working:

By pressing on the sleep button sends computer mode 'sleep', white LED travels triple flash and two seconds apart, and by pressing a key on the keyboard wakes the computer.

Apparently my hardware configuration somehow comes into conflict with the Win8 hybrid sleep mode. SSD?
