Video error stream TV to a Media Center extender (XBOX 360)

Hello

I have a PC that I use to record TV, which is accessible by several XBOX 360 through Media center.

This configuration was working perfectly until a few days ago. At the same time, all 3 Xbox has ceased to be able to view the recorded TV programs, or view the Live TV feed. The Media center PC was the victim of a power cut at the time, but seems to work fine.

1 TV live view on media Center PC (CMCP) - works correctly

2. play Recorded TV on MCPC - works

3. the screen live TV on xbox - video error

4. play Recorded TV on xbox - video error

5 video game file imported into Media center via Photos and video Media Center on the Xbox article - works

6 connect the Xbox to another PC, which has also the Media Center on it and play recorded TV program - works

So far I have tried:

1 restart both MCPC and Xbox.

2 remove the Media Center of the Xbox and reconnect to it.

3. a new analysis of the signal to re - acquire all channels,

4 using the Windows update to update the video card drivers.

I am reasonably certain that the problem lies in the CMCP, but I'm not sure how to do this by how solve this problem. I have a large amount of data on the machine, so reinstalling is not really an option. AFAIK, new programs recording occurs correctly.

All the drivers, applications, and the windows themselves are fully updated.   The error on the machine logs show no relevant error.  The operating system is Windows Vista Ultimate, 64-bit, service pack 2.  Here is a link to the power out of the msinfo32.exe execution on the server.

Yes, it is possible to other files or even your user profile have been corrupted.
Setting up a new user profile would exclude corruption in your existing username

If the above fails, the a repair of the operating system installation should not disturb recorded
TV.

  • How do you play dubbed audio or subtitles in Windows Media Center Extender (Xbox 360)?

I know how to turn subtitles on my Windows Media Center PC, but there is no option to select audio dubbed or subtitled when you use Windows Media Center Extender. All my video files contain subtitles and audio dubbed foreign films.  My wife loves Spanish subtitles, because she has trouble understanding some English films.  I searched some forums and there are questions there but they have no definitive answers.  How a company billions of dollars developing a Media Center and leave out or miss crucial features like these? Please do not react with the thread on how to activate subtitles in TV Mode. Which does not apply to this question. The key word is EXTENDERS.

    Hi AnthonyWilson5

Subtitles should be coded in the movie view. These subtitles are automatically playing with video files. If the subtitles are a separate .srt file, then you will not be able to visualize everything by watching a video on the 360. There is no real turn option ON or OFF for subtitle in the Xbox 360.

But for more information you can even try to contact the expert Microsoft Xbox 360 team. Please visit the links below to find a community that will support what ask you in the right direction for Xbox 360.

  • Set up Media Center using Xbox 360 as Extender fails - HELP!

I use Windows 7 64 b Assus laptop and the new version of the Xbox 360 as a media center extender on a network home wifi elapse a router Linksys E4200.  I have Norton Internet Security (v18.6.0.29) and the standard Windows Firewall on my laptop.  I have configure manually all ports right on the Norton firewall as described in the Article ID: 911728 - last review: February 16, 2010 - revision: 6.0 entitled "Firewall Ports that must be open to use your Xbox 360 as a Media Center Extender.  I get throughout the series until the last step.  Both the Xbox and the laptop appear to expire and I get an error message on the xBox that says:

COMPLETED CONNECTION: "the Xbox 360 has been disconnected from the PC Media Center.  For technical support, visit Microsoft Support at http://support.microsoft.com".

If I do nothing, the Xbox will attempt to restart the connection three times until I'm finally getting a message that says:

"Xbox 360 could not connect to the Windows Media Center computer. Turn on your Xbox 360 console off and then on again and try to connect again"

I did this several times without success. I also disabled my firewall from Norton and my Windows Firewall but still no further.  The Media Center on the laptop says it is installed and ready to use and I do not see my laptop under video library on the Xbox, but when I choose what it I get an error message that says:

"Unable to connect. Make sure that you have activated this console on your computer.

I copied the last entries in the log events below that shows the last attempt I made to configure the Extender. You will see a newspaper where the Extender and successfully it implements and then several error messages that I can't understand.

The last five entries are exactly the same as above.  During this attempt, I had turned on the Firewall Norton back after that defining carefully all the rules required by the above mentioned article.  The results are the same if I have the active firewall or disabled - just says error message the connection has expired when the firewall is disabled.

I hope someone can help me with this - I have spent all day trying to solve this and I'm at the end of my rope.

OK, so I spent all morning pour on my router configs without success and then realized that my drive mapping had stopped working when I updated to my current router E4200.  So I double checked all configs in Windows file sharing and realized that I had activated password sharing which prevented the player sharing between my laptop and my laptop children without creating the same user accounts on each box.  Who sets and I was able to get my shared drives. Then I pulled upward to Media Center again and got exactly the same answer as before.  I thought I was really puzzled but thought I would try and open shared files, I could see on my Xbox AND THIS TIME IT WORKED!  It must have been the password of sharing that prevented the connections between the Media Center on my laptop and Xbox and he disguised himself as a firewall or setting a timeout problem that led me down the wrong path.

Thanks for the suggestion check the router settings.  I would not have thought to double check my disk sharing settings otherwise.

  • Play .srt on Windows 7 Media Center Extenders (XBox 360)

How to play files .srt with the movie files from MCE connected to Windows 7?

Standard DVD settings do not appear in the Extenders to select subtitles, and I mainly .avi.

    Thank you.

    Hello jackdidit3,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

Show captions or subtitles in Windows Media Center:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/show-closed-captions-or-subtitles-in-Windows-Media-Center

Please note that on Windows 7, Windows Media Player and Media Center make use of media of Windows (WMF) framework Foundation instead of DirectShow for playback of certain types of files. Consequently, the DirectShow like DirectVobSub subtitle filters are not used.

WMF is used for the following formats: MPEG, WMV, MP4, MOV, M2TS. Other file such as AVI and MKV formats, Microsoft players are (in most cases) able to display subtitles.

You can download a third-party software and check if it helps. Search using your search engine preferred for more information.

Note: Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Xbox 360 Media Center extender 545 error code

Hello everyone I thought I'd ask my question here as nowhere else.

The problem is, my xbox 360 has benn works fine it's just the media library.
Whenever I try to add as an Extender happens to the part where it sets up my xbox and it says error and it can not set up my computer. So far, I have tried the part where you remove certificates and restarted some Services, but none of them worked.
    Under Event Viewer, he said
Media Center Extender Setup cannot create an account for the extender with the ID: uuid:10000000-0000-0000-0200-0022483530EF.

    Hi Spudals,

Welcome to the Microsoft answers site.

I suggest that you allow the default Administrator and try to set up the media center extender, follow these steps:

To activate the default Administrator account, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start and type CMD in the start search box

    2. right click on CMD in the list and click "Run as Administrator"

    3. type the following command: net user administrator / Active: Yes

  • 1290 error when you try to install Media Center extender for X 360 in Win7 Pro x 64

OK, here's one for someone who knows Win7 Kernel internals.

I am trying to connect my XBox 360 to my PC MC with Windows 7 Pro x 64. When I type the code 8 digits of the Xbox in Media Center, I get an error "Setup." Check the system error log, I found that it was a failure of the Media Extender service to start. Stop of is an error 1290, that says "service start failed because one or more services in the same process have a service SID inconsistent type parameter.» SID type has something to do with the core permissions or somesuch. WAY out of my League.
The only thing that I could find online is that this error occurs sometimes in what concerns the time Service Windows, and that a registry edit to fix it. I tried a similar "fix" on this service registry entry, but it had no effect on this error, so I changed the return register.
Someone has an idea of what I might try next? I did all the standard things that are recommended for problems of Media Extender, including uninstalling and reinstalling all components of media. Re-installation of Windows is NOT an option at this stage, this computer is used by all my children, and there would be a mutiny if he became unavailable for a long period of time (especially for as "lame" reason like this). I'd really listen to my media to my XBox. I hope that someone with some knowledge of the works of this service lies this question one day.

  • UPnP search fails when adding Xbox 360 Media Center Extender

First of all, I spent a week looking for a solution to this so if I missed something obvious, I apologize.

My xbox has been connected as a media center extender to this combination of the computer and the router for several months now. The router is a WII-HP-G300NH Buffalo. Earlier this week the media center extender was having video playback problems. After restarting the computer, the Extender was is no longer connected.

When I try to add a new extension unit I get the message "unable to add extender. Microsoft says to activate upnp and multicast. Check. Reflashed firmware dd - wrt. No luck. Back to buffalo firmware. No luck. Try an old Linksys WRT54GL I hang out. No luck.

The event recorder has this error: "Media Center Extender Setup has failed as the Extender has been detected on the network unsuccessfully searching for UPnP for the Extender (timed out after 20000ms)." Event ID: 538

Now, I did everything I could find on the activation of network discovery, anything allowing to access media and these. Network and sharing Center is located about large open. I also tried switching between home and work networks.

That said, I decided to check and see what updates have been installed. It turns out that an update has been applied on the day, that I started to have problems. It is said that it can not be uninstalled. Description Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 installation software item updated

Note: I have no system restore points. Small SSD and has not taken the time to understand how to save elsewhere.

That's all the information I have. I convinced myself that it is not the router via the steps described above and that it is something to do with the computer. Help?

    FIXED.

    Reinstalled NIC drivers.

Welcome to Windows Vista answers Forums!

First you can try to uninstall and reinstall Silverlight and check.

You can try to uninstall Silverlight by downloading the Windows Installer Cleanup utility.

  • Xbox 360 Media Center Extender loses the connection to the media center to Windows 7 after change of router

I have a Windows 7 Media Center box, and an Xbox 360 that I use as an Extender.  The two connections to the same wired router.  Everything worked fine until I went on my old router (failed) and put in a WNDR4300.   After the new router has been installed, I didn't have the Extender work then, deleted from the media Center and re - he added.  It worked but after I shut off/started the xbox, no link.  It is repetitive: I can make a new connection, but then it didn't reconnect after reboot of the xbox.

    Check/change:

-J' changed to a static IP xbox

-There is no part 3 a / v or a firewall on the support center

-L' on the media center network adapter is 'home '.

-The network card on the media center * fact * show the xbox 360

-The event log after the xbox is restarted shows:

event ID 538: installation of media center extender does not like the Extender has been detected on the network, but for the Extender upnp search failed (timed out after 20000ms)

-How long before it, I have found that the service IS running upnp device host (and set to auto)

-J' checked 4300 router wndr and UPnP is enabled (advertising set to 30 minutes)

question, any ideas what configuration will solve this problem?
