Video files have been converted to Windows Live Movie Maker files

I did a restore to factory settings to enter my computer because I didn't have a password.  I put video files on my computer, but they appear as files of Windows Live.  When I click on them, they go to Windows Live Movie Maker.  How can I convert the videos to the files that will play in Windows Media Player?

Right click and choose 'Open with' and choose Media Player.

Hello! I have a problem with windows live movie maker. I had been using windows live movie maker before and was able to make several projects already.  But recently I could no longer open my files and the following messages keep appearing on: "Windows Live Movie Maker has stopped working.  A problem caused the blocking of the program works correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.  I downloaded the Windows Live Movie Maker program several times, but it does not work.  Does this mean I can have deleted a file/program to do work and recover all the projects I've done?  I remembered that once, I was removing a "Windows Live" in the program folder files because I wasn't happy with the Windows Live Messenger, kept popping up, which was not able to use, so I removed it from the list. Help, please!

  • Windows Live Movie Maker - results of poor quality.

    Hello world

Have laptop Windows 7, IE, and Windows Live Director pre-installed on my new computer.

Creation DVD to use on a DVD + TV player.   Results that are easy to achieve, but the final product, on the TV screen doesn't have a huge amount of sharpnes and resolution compared to the original jpg files.  The images are a 12mp camera and well up to Pro quality.  If I put the same files on a CD and show on the TV, they are perfect in all ways but when converted to DVD there is say, a drop of 50% in the sharpness and resolution.  Is this normal or am I missing something somewhere?

    Thank you very much

    David

    Just some thoughts...

When you view your Photo CD... you see the full number
photos of resolution, but when the files have been encoded in a
Live Movie Maker and Windows DVD Maker video file the
resolution was reduced to the MPEG-2 720 x 480 video.

If you use a lot of effects and transitions... it can improve
the quality of the DVD if you remove them.

I don't know if the resolution of reading is all better if you
create the project for creating Windows DVD instead of beginning
in Live Movie Maker, but it may be something to experience.

    =============================================
The dialog box that you quoted says "Project file" in Windows Live Movie Maker
It would be a file with an extension WLMP. Or if the file was created with
an earlier version of Movie Maker, it can have an extension .mswmm.

So... just to clarify... MP4 extension or WLMP or something else?

If the files are MP4, you will need to convert them to WMV format before
    import into Movie Maker.

There are many programs that can do conversions...
The following freeware is an example...:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory
    http://www.pcfreetime.com/
(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup250.zip
(FWIW... installation..., you might want to
Uncheck all of the boxes on the last screen)

First... after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

  • Using Windows Live Movie Maker with Windows 7. Lack of good features.

I'm angry. I am trying to set up a family video Christmas and notice the limited amount of manipulation that has Windows Live Movie Maker. I think remember me the XP version allowing the video to be accelerated or slowed down. I tried to change it on my old computer, XP version cannot open. MOV files, so I downloaded a video converter, now I get an error message indicating that the codec is missing. I just want to be able to slow down the video to add it to my Windows Live Movie Maker film made by oneself. Can someone please help? If Microsoft have Add ons, any recommendations of good software are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Stacey

For now, I suggest to import the video clip in Windows Movie Maker, which is an application integrated into Windows Vista and check if you get its in.

  • Need help as soon as POSSIBLE! I can't turn the volume on Windows Live Movie Maker and video is slow

I'm reading a file .mov on Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 Version (Build 15.4.3555.0308). I had to install the media player codec pack (version 4.2.3.1001 the file) in order to get the video to play on WLMM and he finally managed to where I could see the video, but now will not play sound. I went into Edit and the Volume of the video and mute is activated, but he won't let me not reactivate the sound by clicking on it. The scroll bar can slide backwards, but does not make a difference. Already, I went and "repaired" Windows Live Movie Maker in my programs. The video has sound when he played on Windows Media Player isn't the video or the speakers.

In addition, the video is very slow and jumpy. It's almost as if it was in slow motion or something.

Help, please!  I need to have this video made as soon as POSSIBLE. I need to be able to start editing here tomorrow!
