  The 12.3.3.17 version seems to cause problems for some people. It may be best to roll back to the last version of iTunes that has worked for you. then wait for the following. See the programs installation of iTunes to download links. If you're back from 12.3.3.17 to 12.3.2.35, then you must also restore the database of the library in the manner described in the empty/corrupted after upgrade/crash iTunes library.

  I had a lot of problem with my iTunes crashing / freezing - up after I've upgraded to the latest version also.

  In my case, the symptoms were different, but after trying many possible solutions, which had no effect at all, I discovered the following post useful here:

  While the symptoms are different, because you have already tried to reinstall the software, perhaps the problem may be related to your library, iTunes, or (as in my case), seems to be a problem caused by the Apple's music, which only manifested itself during the access artists in iTunes that I have previously set to 'follow' Apple music!

  After that I've disabled showing music Apple (from the tab general in iTunes Properties) as suggested in this article, all of a sudden my iTunes stopped freezing / crashing.

  • You run an antivirus/firewall? If so, have you tried to disable or uninstall?
  • Have you tried to boot safe mode to see if the problem persists it? (See the following link for instructions: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode)
  • If the problem does not occur in safe mode, try a clean boot (follow the instructions in Vista, located here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796)
