View full-screen media back to the small window after 20-30 minutes of play. WMP - 11, Classic, VLC, all media players.

Did you recently clean reinstall of the operating system, no malware present, all drivers up to date, no media questions before you reinstall, now, when playing video files in any format, on any media player, full-screen doesn't "stick", but she climbs to view more small window for no apparent reason.  I tried to temporarily turn off anything that might interfere: malware apps, anti-virus, auto updaters, etc., even all the processes which seemed sure to stop temporarily, but after about 20 to 30 minutes to play any video format (mpeg4, avi, DVD disc, etc., full screen will jump to the small window for no apparent reason. When the problem persisted I even downloaded fresh copies of WMP 11, WMP Classic and VLC, but no joy, screen size change continues to happen with all the players, all types of video files. I'm out of ideas. What could possibly be the cause?

[XP Home Edition, Service Pack 3, Intel 2.5 gHz, 1 GB Ram, 80 Gb HDD, SiS 661FX/GX Mirage Graphics... Yes, old, I know, but it worked well for me so far.]

Thank you for your response. I tried your suggestions but they do not solve the problem.  You did, however, lead me to looking at my system settings instead of the settings for the media players - behavior was going on with WMP 11, Media Player Classic and VLC.  I found that, I hope, will prove to be the solution: in Device Manager > Sound, video & Game Controllers > media Remotes > properties I found my video controller (mciavi32.dll) opened its properties > settings > watch the video of 'window' or 'full screen '.  I selected "full screen" and for extra measure of value WMP 11 always open it in full screen. I have not done a test yet further with these three players, but I hope that these parameters will cure the problem. Oh yes, I went to SiS, I already had the latest display driver, but I have downloaded/installed a new copy anyway, just to be certain that my old one was not corrupted in a non-obvious way.

Again, thank you for your help.

  • How to duplicate the iGoogle canvas view (full-screen) of portlets?

    Is it possible for the portlets in webcenter to have the same point of view full screen like iGoogle done? with the tabs on the left side?

    It seems discussions spec WSRP 2.0 on this subject, but have no idea how to do to start.

    http://docs.oasis-open.org/WSRP/v2/WSRP-2.0-spec-OS-01.html#_Window_States

    It is somewhat possible in WebCenter, but it does not use the windowstate. Although it should... According to the JSR 286 specification, as just like the WSRP specification, a portlet can have different viewstates being normal, reduced, expanded. When you ask a portlet to make maximized, is the portal responsebility to hide other portlets and it display full screen. I believe, however, WebCenter does not. You can tell your portlet to render but enlarged webcenter will ignore this and show your portlet as it would be in a normal state...

    However, you can work around this little problem by adding the portlet to your navigation model. When you add a portlet directly to your navigation, it will be a link to a special page with a stretchLayout have been only this portlet is displayed. In this way, the portlet wil be rendered enlarged way and taking the size of the screen.

  • Acrobat XI, osx lion mountain, view full screen still has the title bar

    With acrobat X, when you went to the mode full-screen, it would use the full screen. While I am disappointed that the acrobat xi osx version does not use the native osx fullscreen option, now, however, when you enter full screen, it always seems to be a title bar of the window in full screen (with the dots on the left and the name of the file in the center of the title bar). I have not found a way to disable this option in the preferences. Is this the new normal?

  • Full screen video mode, preserving the size of objects

    Hello

    My task is to show a video player using the full screen. I have no problem doing that, but I need to perform in such a way that only video scales to full screen while other objects (the player controls) remain unadjusted. If I just go full screen - mode everything onstage is furred naturally.

    Playing with the functions of full screen I could come up with the only solution that is to calculate a scale factor (based on, say, stage.width and stageWidth) and adjust the dimensions of the player controls and position accordingly.

    Is the best way to preserve the sizes of objects or there is a better technique?

    I was hoping that each display object has it's own scene and I could show only video fullscreen by doing something like:

    _video.stage.fullScreenSourceRect = screenRectangle;
    _video.stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;

    but he's still developing all objects.

    Thanks much for sharing you experience (or sources).

    Hello

    I must apologize for my stupidity in the post in 2008-06-19 12:08:40 (as well as other incidents of my brain dysfunction). I made statements that are not true. For example, I said: "their assumption was that video is the King, and by default to go fullscreen is to resize the video only." It's BS. They don't make this assumption and, in fact, programmers have complete control over the display.

    kglad, you inspired me to look deeper into the hardware acceleration and now I understand better things (or so I hope).

    I do deviate acceleration hardware and all resizing occurs by program.

    My understanding is that when using the Rectangle across the video - he dimensionnera everything that is within the limits of the rectangle. I couldn't find a way to scale just a video using the rectangle. I was hoping that working a line as follows:

    _video.stage.fullScreenSourceRect = screenRectangle;
    _video.stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;

    He did but in the same way that (note there no _video in scope)

    stage.fullScreenSourceRect = screenRectangle;
    stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN; -which means that everything is scaled up.

    I don't think I fully understand the concept of stage again because in my mind that each object display had it's own step and this step translates the scene of a higher display object (parent). Actually, when I speak of stage - it takes the reference to the highest stage.

    kglad, if you find the time to clarify this point - it would be a huge contribution to humanity :-)

    Back to the description of how I coded full screen WITHOUT using hardware acceleration (in case someone still hope my intellect :-):)

    Step 1. A mechanism that responds to the wish of the user to see the screen full of thing.

    It could be a button with a listener added. The listener will change stage.displayState

    Step 2. Create a mechanism which reacts to changes in displayState.

    a. get System.Capabilities.screenResolutionX and screenResolutionY - these two parameters will tell you how wide and high video possible.

    b. calculate desired video dimensions based on the height and width of resolution and video metadata. This means that one of the ratios will give you scale factor. For example:

    var scaleFactor:Number = Capabilities.screenResolutionY/metaData.info.height will define how it increased (by definition _video.scaleY and scaleX = scaleFactor) using this scale factor newly calculated (assuming you want all the video screen filling).

    c. balance video. Center it if you wish.

    d. hide the objects you want to be shown in the view full screen

    e. visible positions of objects in a desired way. For example, move the player to the bottom of the screen controls calculate x and y, once again, by using parameters screenResolution.

    When the user leaves the mode full screen - reverse what has been done: resize the video at its original size, the positions of origin x and y, see other items, move the Player control to which they belong.

    Fact.

    A brief look at the approach is to enter full screen mode without resize the SWF to the origin. If no further action taken - your player look as it seems at the origin: all the preserved dimensions and swf is the position where there is default (left, Center, or right). And then resize/reposition specifications.

    It will be useful.

    Thanks kglad!

    4.0 using I can go to a mut "view full screen", that I can't return to a normal view. ESC does nothing. Any ideas?

    There are two ways to exit full screen mode. Press the F11 key on your keyboard, which must immediately exit fullscreen. The other is to move your mouse to the top of your monitor, which is expected to display navigation bar of Firefox. You can then click the button restore, which should be at the top right.

    Hope that helps.

  • I don't want Windows Live photo viewer. How can I change back to The Original Windows Picture Viewer?

    My default Picture Viewer changed default Windows Live Photo Viewer. I have nothing to cause this change.  How to get back to the original Windows image viewer?

    Hello

    I suggest to associate as the default Windows Photo Viewer to display photo files and try to view the image files directly.

    (a) open default programs by clicking the Start button, and then click default programs.

    (b) click on associate a type of file or Protocol with a program.

    (c) click on Protocol or file type that you want the program to act as the default value.

    (d) click the program of change.

    (e) click the program that you want to use by default for the selected file type, or click the arrow next to other programs to show other programs. (If you don't see other programs or your program is not listed, click Browse to find the program you want to use, and then click Open. If no other programs are installed that are able to open the type of file or Protocol, your choice will be limited.)

    Check out the link:

    If you want to uninstall Windows Live Photo Gallery, you can follow these steps.

    To uninstall a program, follow these steps.

    (a) click Start, and then click in the Start Search box.

    (b) type appwiz.cpl , and then press ENTER.

    (c) in the list change or remove programs , click Windows Live Photo Gallery , and then click Uninstall.

    Hello

    Creation has completed an existing VM as a virtual machine view.  I can connect with PCoIP or rdp.  The problem is when I connect, I get the window to see the desktop when I go full screen, I just get the screen in the center of the window with the black around her.  Basically it is not full screen at all.  This feels like a stupid question, but how do I change the settings so that the desktop of the virtual machine will pronounce on the entire screen when I go fullscreen?
