  My hard drive of the laptop is overheating. Would it because fans are dusty and need cleaning? I've had the laptop for almost 2 years now.

  When the background gets hot it comes to cancels, as if I had to have released its energy source, a lot of the heat seems to come from the hard drive, but sometimes the fan and the front grille gets hot enough too.

  Right you´re in what concerns fans, in this case, they are REALLY REALLY dusty and need emergency little cleaning. You can use some compressed air or dry compressed air of a box to remove dust from the cooling system of the machine.
  But be careful and blow the dust gently hollow the holes because if you blow too much/hard, the turnover of the cooling fan can be damaged and then the won´t fan working properly which makes the problem worse then before all.

  I suggest you to bring your machine to a technician for laptop and tell him to clean the machine, including the cooling system and apply new thermal grease on the processor.

  Concern for Don t on your HARD drive, it just get so hot because the CPU cooling system breaks down that triggers the temperatures in the whole machine that includes the HARD drive.

  I get this error message when you try to use the Media Center on my Equium A100 - 306 OS Windows XP Me. Don't play videos in it.

  Also when playing videos on any media player, I have a few horizontal lines appearing with a lil flicker. The videos are not playing as well. Any help please?

  My laptop has completely screwed up and I was going to do a full reinstall by using the restore disk provided when I bought my laptop. However, I can't find anywhere and I was wondering if there is anyway that I can get a replacement?

  Yes, the A100 Equium supports the SATA HDD controller and so you will need a SATA 2.5 HARD disk!

  Yes, the upgrade of the HARD drive is not difficult.
  In most cases, you will need to remove the HDD from the laptop's HARD drive Bay, then switch the HARD drive bracket to the new HARD drive, then insert the new HARD disc again in Notepad.

  What does not work? You are not able to install the driver or the slot not reading cards?

  On the page of the Toshiba driver are placed 2-conductor. Be sure you use the right one.
  Plug then the good card in the slot and then try to install the driver.

  But what do you have on the laptop? Did you install the new OS? If yes then check the instruction install driver from the Toshiba page?
  I've installed several times the OS manually on my Satellite and I have always followed the instructions.
  It's important document and if you install the drivers manually you need to follow this guideline.
