VIP in mail

How to use VIP in the mail?

I think I'm supposed to indicate which contact, I note as a VIP, but I can't figure out how to do this.  I have a VIP, but do not remember how I did it.

Sorry, this is El Capitan.

  • Mail vip list does not display messages from all mailboxes

When I first put in place, I remember having the option to display the messages in all mailboxes - a really useful facility VIP. Recently, I noticed that most of my personalities was empty, but the messages were still there in their individual files. I followed the advice of aid to click Sort by Date, and then choose 'all the mailboxes' but this option does not appear. Moving messages of certain dignitaries other files back to Inbox makes it immediately visible in the Vips. So now, if I want my VIP lists for any use I leave everything in my Inbox, which is just chaotic and defeated the object to have folders for businesses, etc. It's only happened recently - it is connected to an upgrade or something similar, I wonder?

    Hi Boxmakermichael,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple! I'm sorry to hear that you're having these problems with mail. If you encounter problems with the function of VIP mailbox in Mail, you can find the information in the following articles useful:

Address postal (El Capitan): search for messages from senders of VIP

Mail (El Capitan): Mailboxes clever use to organize messages

By default, the built-in VIP mailbox only checks emails from VIP which are currently in the Inbox, not in other boxes to letters or records either locally on the server. If you have e-mail set up a rule to move emails from specific VIPs in their own folders (or are moving them manually), it is probably why you don't see them in the VIP mailbox and why they reappear when you your choice in the Inbox.

See the 'All the mailboxes' option "Sort by Date", you must select the individual mailbox the VIP under "VIP".  If your VIP example is 'Joe', select the 'Joe' mailbox then you will see the option "all the mailboxes.

If you don't want not organized these emails in separate folders and view them all in a folder of VIP, however, there is a fairly simple solution. As mentioned in the article above, the integrated VIP mailbox is simply a mailbox smart who is set to pick up the mail of VIPs in your Inbox. While you can't change the settings of this particular mailbox, you can create a new box smart letters (called, for example, 'VIP'), where the only criteria is "Sender's VIP", without any limitation on the message tracking. This should then display all of your emails from senders of VIP, regardless of what box mailbox or a folder they are in. I hope it's useful and please let us know how it works.

  • VIPs file not shown in MacOS Sierra mail

Since the upgrade to Sierra (Version 10.12), I can't see the normal (with star) VIP folder and mailboxes for each VIP under the level of the macOS Mail Inbox (to Version 10.0 (3226)). Upgrade deletes the folder? I am not sure when the VIP file is missing. Is it possible to recreate it?

I tried to choose the e-mail mailbox > rebuild after having poking around the VIPs folder in my iCloud email account. A few hours later, the VIPs file now appears in the list of boxes to macOS Mail letters and seems to work fine. I suspect that the reconstruction has contributed, but do not know for sure.

  • Don't have a VIP under e-mail notifications

on one of my IPhone under Notifications 6 > mail > [mailbox specific] I don't have a VIP option.  Why is this? Has anyone seen this?

To be honest, I'm not sure.  But since no one else took stabbed again, I have some suggestions.  The simplest thing is to first try a restart early / forced:

Restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch - Apple Support

Maybe it is not because no one is in your list of VIP.  Tap the Mail icon and see if VIP appears there and if someone is included in your VIP list by clicking on the symbol of the info here.  Just a thought.

  • Can I get rid where hide VIP and Flagged areas in Mail?

As always, trying to make the best use of the screen space: can I remove, hide, or move the VIP and mailbox with flag in the mail?  I never use them and they lose screen space.  I'd be happy to force just under the mailboxes that I don't want to see...

None of these mailboxes should show unless you actually have some contacts listed as a VIP and marked messages. These contacts him remove VIP label and remove the flagged messages. Deselect the mailbox store, and then restart the Mail. They should disappear.

  • mail function VIP works do not (el Capitan)

When I get an email from a sender tagged VIP, I get an indicator unread for this user, but there is no mail in the mailbox. When I find and read e-mail, the light goes off.

The problem is that the e-mail address must be accessible via this mailbox as if it were in Yosemite.

I opened a ticket about this when I first installed 10.11, but now there are two patches and it is still not fixed. Please fix because it is a very nice feature.

VIP function works for me. You want to make an effort to solve the problem?

  • Sort by name in Mail went (new)

An old bug in Mail is back with Sierra:

Yosemite has no sorting by name in Mail

"most people see mail sorted by date, as I was.  But sometimes I want to see all messages from a particular sender.  All previous versions of mail allowed you simply click on any mail in the Inbox and then click on the tab "Sort by name" at the top to see all [email] sorting by name, starting with the selected email.  Now in Yosemite, instead of beginning with the selected email, it's rather starting to 'A' or 'Z' ignoring the email selected. »

This is a very basic feature is a database that lists the records and it's annoying that it does not work in the Sierra.

Use the search option 1). Enter its name in the search box. Select from. Make sure that all is selected in the Favorites bar.

Option 2) select the name of the person in an e-mail. Mouse over the email. You will see an arrow down.  Select Add to VIP. This is all the emails from this person. After finishing, remove the VIPs.

Yes, I have been fooled, BUT, with a name of an extended family member, who questions such? However, the message came from an unknown party, pushing some product from Oprah. I check now.

There are also e-mails I may NOT wish to indicate that I have "read" them via the formal opening process. I call this the "peek-a-boo" method of opening an e-mail, as it is NOT a formal opening, per my research. The point is that NOT all you see on the screen IS what you ARE seeing. Thus the old saying: "Seeing IS believing.", is NOT true. This is a more current peeking process, an advancement on the old "300 watt bulb behind the envelope" method of finding out contents withOUT opening the letter. This applies to a sender I am familiar with BUT, the current topic is NOT of interest to me. Thus, I can use the "Delete" function with complete satisfaction.

Therefore I wish to know HOW I can gain these two features on THUNDER BIRD e-mails?

    Thank you, you, Matt.
Regarding the "peek-a-boo," about 15 years ago, it was somewhat revealed the Web that some shippers had the ability to detect IF you had opened their missive.

This is handled by the Web beacons. Thunderbird blocks remote images by default. Web beacons work only if you enable the remote images in specific email.

From THIS time, it is the GOVERNMENT that has the ability to detect if you open all or part of your receipts "Entrants".

Interesting point of view, but not quite corr4ect. f they have access to a mail server IMAP "could" determine the status of mail on this server. In the case of POP e-mail that could determine if it has been downloaded. While I do not trust of Government oversight. About the only time where they would do that would be when they are already studying you as an individual. It's a slow late then.

So, WHY Windows Mail offers this function and the T-bird, NO mail?

I played with Visual basic using integrated Internet Explorer about 15 years ago and it was a simple toggle to change the display of the HTML displayed in the source. So I would say it is in windows mail, because he was already in Internet explore and it made for a very simple to implement the functionality. Just expose the existing functionality. After all the composition and rendering in Windows mail used Internet explorer.

Although the header can help tremendously, , what I SEE is NOT NECESSARILY WHAT THAT REALLY is the content of the e-letter.

This is a feature of Thunderbird. It uses the display names from your address book on incoming mail. You can disable it in the menu (alt + T) tools > options > advanced > reading and posting.

If the follow-up can be done via the 'Key STROKE' method, and YOU do NOT know of it, then a "peek-a-boo" is useful to have, huh?

Keyloggers are all also able to capture screens and clicks. If your number more ahead.

It makes me feel, I have a FEW C-O-N-T-R-O-L that I CHOSE to read, and what I based on the content and subject.

Seriously. encryption of e-mails with s/mime and free email certificates will do more to protect your mail that any kind of fake check before you read. Most of the people may face apparently not having a certificate of personal mail to encrypt their mail and like most internet technologies, we get the lowest common denominator. This is the plain text that scours the internet to an ordinary human-readable text.

Please when using these forums not your text indent. This is what makes it become very difficult to read and not wrap. I don't know that that is how you were taught in school. I learned the same thing. But it must comply with the requirements of the opportunity.

  • I enabled notifications for VIP emails, notifications of wire on my iPhone. But get nothing automatically

    HHey guy

I enabled notifications for VIP emails, notifications of wire on my iPhone. But, automatically receive nothing.

I put Fetch manually for my emails. Can I change the settings or how can I make it work? Help, please.

    Thank you

    SAL

    Hey there Ram.

I see your message that you receive any notifications automatically when you search for new e-mail messages while using the option extract manually. The difference between go pick up and pushing the notifications and information/updates on day of account is definitely a balancing act. At one end, you want to save your iOS device's battery, on the other hand, you want to know what you should pay attention to. I had to find the best way to balance those myself, so here's my best information.

Push your data means that each time your information has been updated to include something new, a periodic inspection of the accounts on the device that uses the power of the battery. Fetch means that there is a certain amount of time that your accounts are audited with can help save your battery life. Pick up manually, you are not looking for information updates until this request has been activated as your Mail, Contacts, calendars and other app.

The drillthrough feature has other eligible delays causing your email accounts to check back more often. You can select a time in settings > Mail, Contacts, calendar > extract to one that fits your needs. Your other choice is all hours, every 30 minutes and every 15 minutes. More frequently your accounts are checked means a greater drain on your battery life. I recommend you to choose the longest period of time and see if you get your notifications as often as you want.

    Happy emails for you!

I just found a VIP folder in mail. I did not put there. I do not deal with VIP. How can I get rid of i? I didn't wan't it in either my phone or my Ipad. It's crowd useless and prempts other records and seems to think that spam and obvious junk is important, I disagree.

End of rant I still need an answer thank you

It's put there by default, you should be able to remove it? Edit menu > delete.

  • How can I remove the box the letters VIP?

How can I remove the box the letters VIP?

You do not have. You must remove the VIP status to all who come in contact with you. Right-click on the sender of the email in the mailbox and choose to remove VIP.

Once you do this, the mailbox will disappear. Restart the e-mail if necessary.

  • Adding domain Emails to VIP

I signed something where I will get an email from them when a certain offer arrives. The problem is, however, I get a lot of spam on my email address, so I have disabled notifications to send with the exception of my VIP. The other problem is that I don't know what e-mail address, is that they will use to send me there. For example, I know it's for on gmail.com, but I don't know what is before the @ in [email protected]. I want to know if it is possible for me to add ___.com to my VIP list by adding only to the field. Thanks in advance!

You are talking about the implementation of a rule - you can do it on the web portal of the e-mail provider
