Virtual machine loads BB Playbook OS won't boot

I have donwloaded all materials listed but for some reason when loading of the VM BB Playbook OS won't boot. It hangs on loading screen. Anyone else having this problem? Is anyone able to fix it?

Thank you.

EDIT: Title changed after the split from another thread

Check that you have installed with 1024 MB of ram and 3D accelerated graphics. I also found that the use of 2 hearts sometimes helps.
Finally, if you recharge the SIM when it hangs on loading screen that sometimes will make a difference. (I often need 3-4 reboots before it actually loads)

  • After Reboot virtual machine - VM not no projection in host, orphaned in vCenter

    Hi all

I had a server 2 k 8 running as an IIS server.  While using it last night, he hung up on me and I couldn't restart it.  I went in vCenter and restarted from there and the VM looks ok to stop, but he would not return to the top.  I tried to start but got an error.  Then in the host ESX and virtual machine was no longer available at the level of the host and on the vCenter, it showed also orphaned.

I did a reading online and follow a guide who was told to remove the orphaned VM and add the VMDK as a new virtual machine.  After these steps, my VM boots now beyond the BIOS screen, and starts to load windows then get a quick second BSOD split, then the VM restarts and gives me the possibility of:

    -Start windows normally

    -Windows startup recovery

If I boot normally, it makes a loop in the same cycle, if I do a start of the recovery, it gives me the normal windows recovery tools.  In the diskpart tool, I see the end as well as the disk partitions.

Can someone the tsar me in the right direction? My guess is that something in the files of the virtual computer is corrupted, causing windows back his process of starting because of a hardware problem... ?

I have attached a few newspapers too.  Thanks for the tips!

If this is the only virtual machine affected, then this is probably the OS corruption. You can deploy a new virtual machine and migrate data on existing records to the new (just to mount the VMDK on the new virtual machine) or go to the effort of the diagnosis and repair of the system.

If you are going to do the later, then start by identifying the BSOD error - is is a mistake of 7B? (please post a screenshot). You can start in safe mode? If you can, it would be from a local value of core dumps are configured so that you can run the. DMP file via WinDbg to debug the stop error... This will give you information about this driver etc. is causing the crash dump.

    See you soon,.

  • Can't get OS USB host for the installation of a new virtual machine

I am trying to create my first VM in VSphere client. All my other machines have been migrated to Hyper-V machine. I created the machine but can't load of windows server 2003 r2 32 bit OS ISO. I tried several ways to no success.

The virtual machine just says: operating system not found. The first way I tried was put the installation disc in the VSphere host and modify the virtual machine settings to point to the CD-ROM. It did not work.

The second way, I tried was by clicking on the icon of the disk to the VM Console and choosing iso on the local disk. I then navigate to the iso file. When I did this it remains stuck in the connection. Even after I change this setting if I try to go back to the icon of the drive console he says always login no matter what I do on the parameters of the virtual machine. Can I stop it trying to connect?

The third way, that I tried was to stick to a USB to the VSphere host. However, I can't understand how to assign the virtual machine to USB. I noticed that when I plug my USB key, it says USB configuration has changed in the events, but I do not see the USB drive as an option under storage.

The fourth way that I tried was to use WINSCP for SFTP the ISO for the data store. When I do this need me in the root directory that has only about 100 MB of space on it. So it allows me to start the transfer of the iso and the error. How can I change this?

I'm really frustrated about something which I think should be really easy. Any help is appreciated.

    You have access to vCenter?

If so, this video shows how to download an ISO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6v8GsWJ9dc

If you get your ISO on the data store that you can navigate to it through the client vSphere (console) to the virtual machine, do not forget to set the "connect on startup' or 'Connected' when you configure the virtual machine's CD drive.

[Edit] Boot from USB can sometimes be a problem, if you need to boot from USB you can use a like Plop Boot Manager, it is an ISO standard, you can load into the virtual machine CD player. More info here: http://www.vladan.fr/great-tip-how-to-boot-from-usb-image-in-vmware-workstation/ ... It's for workstation, but it works for ESXi 5.0 as well.

  • Transfer of personal use of Boot Camp Virtual Machine license

    Hello!

I bought a disc of system integrator OEM 64 - bit Windows 8 for use under the terms of the personal use license and it installed on my MacBook Pro using Boot Camp.
It turns out that the integrated graphics (Intel HD 3000) is not available in configuration dual-boot.
so I cannot use the dedicated graphics card (AMD Radeon HD 6750 M) (for which I should apparently accused Apple, but that's off-topic anyway).
Using the graphics card Intel (for example Quick Sync Video support) has been the reason why I chose a dual boot as opposed to a virtual machine configuration.
Because this does not work, I will try and transfer the installation on a virtual machine in the near future.
I understand that the personal use license does not allow me to run the two facilities (Boot Camp and VM), but do I have that right to say
the conditions of licence it is for me to transfer the license to a virtual machine, as I have delete the partition Boot Camp of my MacBook Pro?
Assuming the above is correct, how exactly would ensure the transfer is as painless as possible? For example:
-AFAICT I would have to get in touch with a Microsoft Product Activation Center by phone.
Is there a better and/or other method or is it my best bet?
-It would be best to call before you do anything, or only after the installation of Windows in the VM (i.e. upon activation)?
-Should what information I have ready to give Microsoft?
    Thank you

That's right, simply remove the installation of Boot Camp, then you can transfer to a virtual computer and reactivate by phone:

    1. press the Windows key + X , and then clickrun, and then type: slui.exe 4

    2. then press the ENTER"" key.

    3. Select your "country" in the list.

    4. choose the option "activate phone".

    5. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    6. explain your problem clearly to the support person.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nope. activation of the phone is your only option.
-It would be best to call before you do anything, or only after the installation of Windows in the VM (i.e. upon activation)?
You can not, you make the call "after" you have transferred the license.
-Should what information I have ready to give Microsoft?

Your Confirmation ID, it will appear in the activation window.

  • How can we change the start-up time in a virtual machine

I need to update the delay start for my virtual machines so that each time that the virtual machine is under voltage or reset, the boot order to 5000 milliseconds delay.  The default is 0 milliseconds.

Can someone tell me what command (s) I need to use for this script.  I only meed the correct syntax and I'll be able to write the script to change the default settings on all my VMs currents (I've already updated my model so that the new virtual machines have the value of 5000 milliseconds).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To set the delay for all your vm is 5,000 milliseconds with PowerCLI you can use:

    $spec = new-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineConfigSpec

    $spec.bootOptions = new-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineBootOptions

    $spec.bootOptions.bootDelay = 5000

    Get - VM | {ForEach-Object

  • How to reinstall the OS on a virtual machine in the virtual machine Linux drive?

    Hello

I have problems reinstall OS in a VM Linux (on the Linux host).  I change the CD/DVD (IDE) to connect to an ISO file, save and then play the virtual machine.  I tired send "Ctrl + Alt + Delete", running after stopping, etc., but it will not re - install the new ISO standard (each time it's booting of the operating system already installed).  How can I force the VM to re - install a new ISO standard?

    Thank you.

    -Superfoti

    Hello

You can delay the start of the machine, press ESC at startup and choose to boot from the CD to the virtual machine. You can also change the boot order in the Bios to automatically boot from the CD first.

Take a look at the following kb for details on how to change the way the virtual machine starts.

    Good luck!

  • Virtual machines will not open

So far I'm not having a good time with the merger. I created two virtual machines. In one, I imported my Parallels VM XP. In the other, I installed Windows 7 Pro, and then installed my genealogy software and copied into the database. Yesterday, I had both open, comparing the two databases to make sure that I had copied later. I had to stop, so I suspended the two virtual machines and leave the merger.

Today, when I came back, I took the W7 machine. He refused to come and basically crashed. I started again. He came, seemingly OK initially. I went to a different record in the data, and that seemed to work. But I had a problem with my wireless keyboard, so I plugged in a USB keyboard.

At this point, the W7 machine responds more completely, the keyboard or mouse. Shortly, it crashed. And when I try to restart it, it comes up saying "internal error." Initially, there was some message not to seek a process to connect to, but now I get the message "Internal error" (after several attempts). The evidence of what can happen? What toast VM and I have to start?

Either way, the XP VM will be no more back from suspension. It causes the Fusion go out of order, and I have to force it to quit.

So, for the moment, nothing works. I am impressed! Can anyone offer help? I'm about to abandon my trial and return to Parallels.

It might be useful to take a step back and cringe before sprint with Fusion.  You might be an expert, but we do not know what kind of Mac you have (speed, carrots, RAM), the amounts assigned to the virtual machines.  All this can affect the interaction with the machine runs especially 2 or several virtual machines at the same time.

First of all, good Center seems, I suggest a reboot for the update of Mac OS X in the level of play.  Set a virtual computer at a time.  From XP, if the virtual machine is suspended you can remove suspended RAM State (or the saved state) then restart the virtual machine, it will go through the normal boot process and not repeated from the suspended state.  For this, I recommend to locate the beam of the XP VM as on the collection of information for VMware Fusion and remove the .vmss file.  To do this, before launching VMware Fusion.  If so do it separately for the VM and Win 7 as well.  Then start VMware Fusion and exercise your XP VM.  Once you think it doesn't, stop the XP VM.  Then, start the VM 7 Win and see if it still gives you an error.  If so, see details here indicated such in the Backgrounder Gathering.  If this isn't the case, exercise the VM Win7 run alone to see if it is stable.

Once the two virtual machines are independently stable, read choose the right virtual computer settings to make sure that each virtual machine settings are tuned to your needs.  If you intend to run 2 or more virtual machines, special attention to the sum total of the use of the RAM compared to what is the surplus for OS X and its applications.

    Hope this helps,

  • VM won't boot from CD after installing the OS

After installing the OS (Win2K) on my virtual machine, it will not be able to boot from the CD.  I don't know how to boot from the CD.  I need to run a repair on the BONE because when I originally created the virtual machine I have only the CPU to the attributes.  So, I assigned a second processor on the virtual machine, but I need to run the repair for the HAL for multi-cpu operation.

How to configure the virtual machine to boot from the CD?

Change the settings on the virtual machine and select it to go into the BIOS at the next startup and set the boot order for the CD before the hard drive

  • To access the Sim Playbook on the other machine or virtual machine?

I set up the Playbook dev environment in a virtual machine (MS Virtual PC if it is important) and encountered problems trying to connect to the Simulator, which is of course an another VM.  I guess there will be the same problems you are trying to run the Simulator on one machine other than the machine of dev, regardless of if the dev machine is a virtual machine.

Anyway, I can't start the trainer inside my dev VM. I guess it would work, and in fact it doesn't (even if the error is a strange not found error). Instead I tried to run the SIM on the true operating system of the box.

The machine has an IP address in the 192.168.0.X subnet and VM Dev has also received an IP address on the same subnet to the router. However, the IP of the SIM is a 192.168.153.X. I tried affecting 255.255.0.0 subnet mask right on the Dev of VM and it still does not work. I also couldn't find any way to change the network settings on the Simulator hoping to move it to the subnet 0.

Has anyone got a configuration like this work? If so, there is advice on what config change?

    Bill

I'm currently under this configuration with the development environment in a separate VM (Windows7 Enterprise) and the Simulator playbook in another virtual machine, both on the same machine.

To make this work as well virtual machines had have their network in "Bridged" mode configuration

To configure your virtual machine, assuming you are using VMware Player as I am, in the VMware Player menu bar, click on the tab drop-down 'Virtual Machine', select "Virtual Machine Settings... ».

In the tab "Hardware", select the device of the "network card".

Change the network connection to open and activate the option "reproduce the physical network connection state.

Click OK and restart your virtual machine.

Once this has been done for both, discover the IP address of the Simulator and notes that it has changed. This IP address allows to load your applications from the development of VM.

  • Windows XP does not correctly load after installing Virtual Machine

    Original title: System Restore

I recently tried to install a Machine Microsoft VM on myWindows XPcomputer. By getting a message "Please reboot", I clicked on "restart now." The computer turned off and running back. When he steps back, the loading screen appears, and then the blueHP Inventscreen appeared (which is normal). But then something odd happened. A small window appears in the left corner of the screen. It read: "loading your personal settings: System Restore, Control Panel, etc...", or something of the sort. The default software supplied with the computer window appeared. The blue HP Invent screen continued to remain in the shadows.

When I eventually clicked the 'x' in the antivirus window, the taskbar, start button, etc. appeared, but most of my desktop icons were missing. Then I noticed that the blue screen of theHP Ivent became my wallpaper. Puzzled, I navigated to the 'System Restore' window. Then, several windows titled 'Welcome in Windows XP' and "Turn Windows XP" appeared. I have navigated to System Restore window and chose a system restore point (which was the day before) and continued the process of system restore. The system was supposed to be restored. At startup, the same window in the left corner appeared; the antivirus window is appeared. The system restore window is appeared then, confirming that the system restore was successful (which it wasn't). Everything was the same way before I had done the system restore.

In a panic, I went to Internet Explorer. The browser then showed up and greeted me with messages as if I had never used, and [if not all] most of my favorites had been withdrawn. Then, I assumed that my computer has been restored to factory settings. But of course, in opposition to my thesis, my Antivirus AVG software  that I had installed before all these problems occurred, was still on my computer. My iTunes was also still on my computer, but my entire library has been destroyed, and when I double click the icon, it asked me to install the iTunes software (as if I had just downloaded on my computer).

I procceeded to try to restore my computer to different restore points, but all attempts were in vain, because no settings have been changed... And that's my story. Also, I would appreciate some answers detailed as soon as possible, because this computer is not me anyway... Thanks for reading guys!

I recently tried to install a Machine Microsoft VM on myWindows XPcomputer. By getting a message "Please reboot", I clicked on "restart now." .....

the small window that you mentioned is probably the virtual machine window.  and if you it configured during installation, as attributed too much ram memory and disk space, and then the windows in normal mode went out of these valuable resources.

In addition, if the system disks and files was not optimal performance via tune ups, then they could have been less than optimal before installing the vpc and the systems simply becoming worse by installing more data.

regarding the failed system restore points, we don't know why they did not work.  but the system restore function is stable, except somethings interferes with her bad anti anti-virus programs or system files have been corrupted with infections beyond you're a.v design..  the bottom line is that "who knows?"

You can probably try is to start in safe mode and try to uninstall virtual pc via Add/Remove programs in the control panel.

then see if the normal mode is normal once again.

Another method, you can try again in safe mode is the restoration of the system again.

then see if the normal mode is normal once again.

Another method, you can try in safe mode, you can try to perform a clean boot to normal mode.

Just to be clear, you press the Option key on the keyboard key then went in the Virtual Machine menu at the top of the screen and choose Force Shut Down who?  Looks like you force quit in the menu Apple have rather choose.  Force quit will put end to VMware Fusion, while the option Force stop menu stop permanently from Windows itself.

  • VMWare Fusion 6 upgrade does not load virtual machines

I downloaded the demo for VMWare 6, and when I run it, it shows the two virtual machines, I have version 5.0.3, but they say just 'loading... '. "next to them. I never started.

I have Debian 6 and haiku. They work very well in Fusion 5.0.3. I close them before trying to run 6.

When I tried to make a new virtual machine, or to open, I get this error message (see image). Note that I have installed Cubase, and it should use the file extension .vmx for some of its files.

I can't enforce existing virtual machines or create new ones. 5.0.3 continues to operate correctly.

I have reproduced a problem with Launch Services, leaving the .vmx extension registered for Cubase and not save it properly for the merger. This is a problem in some Apple document standard loading of code that uses the Fusion. I will continue research on the differences between the Fusion 5 and 6 to see how to solve this problem. In the meantime, could you please try the following workaround?

1 unregister Cubase of launch Services:

    /System/Library/frameworks/CoreServices.framework/frameworks/LaunchServices.Framework/support/lsregister u ' Cubase 7.app/Applications / ".

    2. run merge and make sure that it is able to create and power on virtual machines.

3 re - record Cubase with Launch Services:

    /System/Library/frameworks/CoreServices.framework/frameworks/LaunchServices.Framework/support/lsregister ' / applications/Cubase 7.app.

If you have another version of Cubase, or it is installed in a different location, you may need to change the path of the application accordingly.
