virus or malware on IMAC. There is a 'new user' I can't get rid of.
HI - while browsing the internet, I picked up a virus or malware or something on my IMAC. The popup msg wanted to send a notice to Apple and I think he wanted to test. I tried to click out of it, but it wouldn't disappear. I clicked on safari, but then, he wouldn't let me go on the internet. I shut down the computer and signed on, I tried to go to the Activity Monitor and see that there is another 'user '. I try to delete and force leave him, but he won't let me.
I have an imac OS X 10.10.2.
I'd appreciate any help, please.
Thank you!!
Toni
There are no viruses for OS X but can have downloaded some adware or other type of malware. Thank you for posting a report EtreCheck of your system, and we can look for obvious problems. I type the text, everything seems fine. Once I start to space out the letters apart, a light blue background appears! There is no indication in the design view, but goes into the print view. I just installed Adobe Rader 9. There are files left. How can I get rid of them?
Hello. I installed Adobe Reader 9. The installation folder is on my desk, and there is an installer for Adobe 9.0 folder in the folder on the hard disk. There is also a folder Adobe 8.0, the uninstall program has not been deleted. It isn't that much in the Adobe folder 8.0, but I not went.
The uninstall program did not have the best job, then I wonder where maybe hidden files and how do I clear my hard drive from the old Reader 8.0 files, etc..
I am concerned about the registry entries, hidden files, etc. So where should I look?
Is there an uninstall program that I can download?
Thank you.
Yes, uninstall Adobe Reader (not all Adobe software) using Add/Remove Programs, restart, and then remove all remaining files and folders.
If it does not, use the Windows Installer Cleanup*utility. Yes, this utility was withdrawn by Microsoft from my post, but can still be found on many download sites (use Google to locate).
*) The Windows Installer Cleanup utility works on all programs that were installed with Windows Installer, not only Microsoft Office.

How can I get rid of a virus if I can't download or delete anything?
There are a number of techniques that can be used.
Looking for a portable antivirus or anti-malware that can be loaded on a CD/Flash drive on a system free from viruses and then physically move your infected system. For example:
http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
http://www.SUPERAntiSpyware.com/portablescanner.HTML?tag=SAS_PORTABLEFOLDER
Restart in safe mode with network that can allow access to the removal of additional viruses on the net tools while preventing the virus to start and then interfere with your system.

I accidentally downloaded a virus. My device is frozen, cannot access the internet. The virus requires the payment of $500 to unlock the screen. How can I get rid of the virus
There are ideas and additional links within this Council; However
some of the problems with a 'ransomware' scam can translate by allowing a
real attack once you leave in your phone. Otherwise, it's a bluff.
Phony 'technical support' / 'ransomware' popups and web pages
Most of the items I found in the deal with OS X and a few mention iOS.
There is an article on how to deal with the issues of adware in Safari, which
are based on the ability to boot the device with the browser, in order to
do not keep the same web address, then you can disable the source.
• Stop the pop-up ads and advertising on Safari - Apple Support
The notice of an attack is usually a bluff, iOS and OS X; When you act on
the element as they suggest, to call a phone number or click a button to allow
In addition to access, the issue intensifies; the attacker gets access to the
device and to any payment method available for their "healing" to the attack.
The scam is to get people to think that the answer is the warning, but it's
fake; acting so on him with faith is the quicksand.
Maybe you can start the machine with the browser disabled (or extensions turned off)
to see if you can follow through with the ideas presented in above links.
These ideas helped others in the past, and avoidance is the best remedy.
Good luck in this case!

I have a Trojan virus located in (C:\windows\svchost.exe)! How can I get rid of him? Help, please!
Hello
1 are you facing any problem with the operating system?
2 have you made changes on the computer before this problem?Try the next method and check if it helps.
Method 1:
Run Microsoft Safety scanner and check if there are any threats found.
Microsoft Safety Scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: the Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. During these 10 days, it will remove all the files infected by the virus and records. I suggest you create a backup of your data, and then install Microsoft Safety Scanner.Method 2:
Make a file system checker and check if it helps.
To run a SFC scan, follow the steps described in the following Microsoft article. How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
It will be useful. -
