virus or malware on IMAC.  There is a 'new user' I can't get rid of.

HI - while browsing the internet, I picked up a virus or malware or something on my IMAC.  The popup msg wanted to send a notice to Apple and I think he wanted to test.  I tried to click out of it, but it wouldn't disappear.  I clicked on safari, but then, he wouldn't let me go on the internet.  I shut down the computer and signed on, I tried to go to the Activity Monitor and see that there is another 'user '.  I try to delete and force leave him, but he won't let me.

I have an imac OS X 10.10.2.

I'd appreciate any help, please.

Thank you!!

Toni

There are no viruses for OS X but can have downloaded some adware or other type of malware. Thank you for posting a report EtreCheck of your system, and we can look for obvious problems. Click on the link, download and run the application. Then copy and paste your results to response to this message.
