Virus ruined Win7, no disk upgrade is?

Hello world.

I have a laptop, G70 - 467 CL.  It came with Vista, with the promise that when Windows 7 is out I could upgrade for free.  I did as soon as I could.

Here, 3 years later, I catch a virus that started my impossible machine.  I took the HD, copied my important files on a backup HD and started from scratch.  Only problem is, I can't find the upgrade disc ANYWHERE.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated, because I am in the 3rd week of a school semester new and I can't do without my laptop.  (That and I forgot how sucked much of Vista AND Win 7 to purchase seems silly since I already...)

Anyway, I don't remember if sent HP upgrade disks or if you need to download Windows 7 or what the deal was, because it's been awhile.  If they sent discs, I can't find mine anywhere.  And the HP website is a mess when it comes to order recovery disks.  (On Windows 7, Vista no.  I did those, they worked...)  AND I must pay if I even want to talk to a real person...

My apologies for my tone.  This whole ordeal is * really * bothers me...

Thank you in advance and I appreciate really help everyone.

Good evening.

Brian

To the best of my knowledge, the Windows 7 upgrade disks once lost, cannot be pronounced again. (Microsft restriction I guess, because of the long period since the program was launched). This is why I think that the only option is to have a retail version of Windows 7 and install it to your laptop.

  • Lost Vista install disk - upgrade to WIN 7 - Help!

Well, my problem is that I have an old PC that comes with windows XP Pro. About 2 years ago, I bought Vista Home from Best Buy.
A few days ago I have upgraded to a trial version of Windows 7 Ultimate and I like 25 days to activate it, which I don't want to because I lost the characteristics that I had, I seem to have some compatibility issues, etc...
HOW to return to my Vista?
I DO NOT HAVE my disk of Vista that I bought at Best Buy.
My version of Vista is registered with Microsoft and I have my Original Product ID and product key.
It would seem that Microsoft would be able to easily provide me with a replacement CD I'm paying to have delivered to me or give me a link to loadable.
How should I proceed? Microsoft will do for me?

Thank you much for all support information.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

My laptop has Windows 7 installed and my external worked fine. My new laptop had win 8.1 pre-installed so I have connected my drive and worked fine but when I plugged in my Win 7 machine he was working more.

I upgraded my new machine to win 10 to see if that would solve the problem, the drive connected but then I could not remove so I stopped the machine and deleted but I can't always connect to a Win 7 machine.  Everyone knows this?

    Hey there Leeaf72,

I'm sorry to hear about the issue. What is the model and the capacity of the drive? Have you tried the drive on other systems or possibly with other USB cables?
I would check if the drive is recognized in the BIOS, Device Manager or disk management. Here's how for the last two:
    Device Manager: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=cXczh0
    Disk management: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=xFP3QI

I would also see if you have all the latest OS and driver updates. Try to reinstall the USB drivers. You can also try out them completely and let the update tool to install.

If the drive is recognized I download and run WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic and see if the car passes the quick and extensive tests. Here's a link: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=a6nz3g

    Post back with some progress,

    Hi Nicolas,.

    • What is the version of Windows currently installed 7?

Upgrade to the version that you want, you can use the two upgrade disc or upgrade Express options. You need just the key product for the version that you are migrating to.

  • can offer key used in from another pc with win7 genuine windows upgrade?

I've upgraded offer purchase the windows8 15 USD or INR 699 after entering the key valid win7.
can I use this new key to upgrade on any other pc windows8 more old which have genuine win7 home basic common in?

What happens if the old pc was purchased before June 2, 2012.
He is not eligible for the discount 15USD,
then also can we use the button upgrade purchased for 15 USD/699 INR, to upgrade the old pc, rather than the eligible whose key windows7 pc has been used for the validation of the offer and get the promo code?

    Hello

The information I posted is very clear.

You can install the upgrade on any other PC that you own. The date of purchase for the other PC is not severe, you might have bought PC years ago or even if you buy a PC next year, you can install this upgrade.

    Concerning

Anyone can indicate that one anti-virus used successfully with Win7 (64 bit) and LR4? I understand that LR4 is quite finiky have any anti-virus software is looming around.

I use McAfee Total Protection and have no problems or conflicts.

  • Transfer of PS CS5 to new PC with disk upgrade only

I still have my Photoshops every couple versions improved, leaving a long line of upgrades. I don't even remember what my "Photoshop" full original purchase was more.

in any case, I'm on CS5 Extended now, for which I upgrade disk, and the number of series (also on Adobe.com).

I want to move to a newer computer in the future, but as I only have the CS5 update disk, I don't see how I can.

It seems that the only way is to find the old, old PS software and my 2-3 upgrade drives between the two and keep it until I can put CS5 Extended in.

Does anyone else have this problem?

The era of having to have a previous version installed before installing an upgrade is over.

The upgrade disc is the full code for the software.

If you enter a upgrade serial number during the installation, the installer will ask you also enter the serial number for an earlier version of qualification: CS2, CS3 or CS4 (only has even to be the serial number for full version - will be a serial number update). Because of the 3-versions of Adobe return policy, any previous version of CS2 is not eligible and will not be accepted.

So, disable CS5 Extended on your old PC (if you don't use any more).

Then insert your CS5 Extended Upgrade drive into the new PC and have the serial number for CS2, CS3 or CS4 handy.

Once the two series are accepted, the full version of CS5 Extended will be installed.
