  Hi all

  I have a small question by using the VISA test panel in MAX.  I try to send a simple command to a device and then retrieve the response data.  I am able to do this successfully through Labview, but for some reason I can't get a good answer in MAX.  The command I sent you is merely a letter (unit address) followed by an end of line character (\r\n in ascii).  In MAX, I simply adding \r\n on the string sent in the buffer (end send on written == FALSE).  All parameters of series are the same as what I have in LV (19.2, 8-n-1).  Someone at - it ideas?  It of a bit frustrating that I just want to make something simple and do not want to have to build a whole routine in LV to do this.

  I have the following problem, after a replacement of faulty motherboard on my elitebook 2560p with Win XP, I find a question mark in the Device Manager list under a PCI serial port driver is missing.

  I tried to locate the pilot unsuccessfully in SP38312, SP45131, SP53918, unzip the files and trying to manually locate the driver in the files with the windows driver update function.

• Visa test panel works, but visa write that VI does not work

  Hello everyone, this is my first post here

  I'm trying to communicate with an instrument of piezo controller using my serial port.  I can successfully write a command using the Panel to test visa, "AV20\r" for example sets all channels of voltage of 20 volts.  In my labview vi, I set up the serial port with the same settings as I see in the Panel to test and run it, but the device does not respond.

  Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated, I'm sure I must be missing something simple here...

  Are you sure your string constant or control in LabVIEW that contains the string is configured to show the \codes attributes?

• USB keys do not work in my VISTA PC, but working in the XP computer.

  My PC is only a few months and underwarranty. VISTA is OEM original and authentic. All updates and installed SP2.

  But I have several problems with VISTA.

  One of them is the following:-

  USB keys do not work in this PC. Initially, they are recognized, but as soon as I start the data transfer it stops and does not recognize the keys more. Same USB keys work correctly on other XP computers.

  An external hard drive works perfectly on the same USB port. If the port is fine.

  First of all if still under warranty, contact the manufacturer to execute tests for your USB slots. Have you tried to see if other devices work on the USB plug? The manufacturer of your may be able to replace your computer if needed.

  Then, I'd go for the Device Manager to see if you have errors. Go to Device Manager and see if you have a yellow fringe! showing that there are errors with your USB devices. Open the Device Manager in Windows Vista via the management utility of the computer, the Control Panel, or from the command prompt by typing in devmgmt.msc.

  You can go to the different tabs and see if the devices work properly, should be cancelled or update your drivers.
  You can also go into the event viewer and see if you have errors on your hardware devices.

  Usually it is a question of the environment.

  The script works in command prompt, because when you signed on your chosen username environment of a profile settings, for example .bash_profile.

  A crontab task presents no environment. That's why you call hydev_env at the beginning of the script. If something things are missing in your env file especially likely.

  What I do is keep a file for each database in the environment to a place like this:

  I try to control the position of three valves actuator of four lanes of Garland. They are VICI Valco and model # EUHA. I connected them via RS - 232 to USB in my computer. I was able to communicate with them, when I sent a few simple commands through hyperterminal and when I open MAX devices appear and the sign says the devices are working properly. However, when I go in the test panel and try to run some of the default commands, I get timeout error, 0xBFFF0015, during the reading of the order. Thanks for any help you can provide.

• HP Pavilion dv6 - black screen on startup, but works using the secondary monitor?

  I use a Pavilion dv6 WV815AV, and I used it for 3 years now.

  I tried to start the computer and the fan and lights are lit, but not the monitor.  I tried to plug in my high school, and it's that now treats as if it were the only screen.  I had problems in the past of a few times where I would get past the HP logo, and then there would be a substantial delay where the screen remains black but be illuminated, but most of the time that he would go to the screen connection, and if not, a simple reboot managed to solve the problem.

  Thoughts on how should I solve it?

They are now the javascripts which probably make the PDF on the fly from documents, and then download. I get a garbage file on my desk instead. In Internet Explorer, the javascript code triggers a query to view or download. In Firefox, I believe that there is a flash of a window that opens, then nothing. I tried to disable AdBlocker and have the sites listed to allow pop-ups, and is not.

  Try running Firefox in questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode. If it works properly in this configuration, then one of your modules is the culprit.

  Usually WXP Home, Pro should work without any problem because all the drivers, tools and utilities can be used for the two operating systems. I just hope that you have preinstalled all things in order of good facilities.
