Vista 64-bit dvd replacement

I bought a pc from tigerdirect which included vista 64 bit OS and I lost my original installation disk.  I called tigerdirect and they were out of discs and were not ordering more.  They told me to contact microsoft.  I have all the details of my machine key info and product, please write to me at * address email is removed from the privacy * to let me know how I can order and arrange payment for my lost media.  Thank you, Amy Bourgeois

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
  • Windows Vista 64 - bit DVD
    Hello.
    I have a DVD of windows vista 32-bit and a license key. I want to change my operating system to Windows Vista 64-bit. According to my understanding, Microsoft provides these DVDs to addresses. How can I request this DVD in India?
    Thank you!
    Dr. gangloff
    Hello
    Microsoft sells more than Vista.
    I suggest you borrow a DVD for sale at retail or OEM System Builders Vista 64-bit of a friend.
    You can borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
    Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
    And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
    And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
    And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
    Hello
    are there drivers for the UMTS modem yet? (I have found that none on the Toshiba download site) It's the only thing that prevents me from using a Version of Vista 64 bit on my Portege M700.
    Could you (guys from Toshiba) please release the 64 bit Vista for the Novatel UMTS modem drivers?
    Thanks in advance,
  • Can I install Vista 64 bit on 32-bit Vista?
    I can install Vista 64 bit on a Vista 32-bit mode window mode or should I make an OS install clean / modified?
    You must do a clean install, which means that you must start again Vista 64-bit DVD and follow the instructions on the screen.
    I think the upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit is not possible.
  • Windows XP 32-bit, Vista 64-bit
    How can I switch my WinXP 32-bit to 64-bit Vista?  The Vista upgrade package that I bought came with 2 DVDs (32 and 64 bit).  Vista 64-bit DVD does not start on my Win XP 32 and primer alone.
    Hi LaForest,
    You will not be able to access the Windows vista 64-bit DVD that the problem occurs because the Windows operating system upgrades are supported only between matching operating system architectures. A 32-bit version of Windows XP does not recognize the engine to install Windows Vista 64-bit.
    You will not be able to upgrade to the 32-bit operating systems for 64-bit operating systems refer the below Microsoft article to know how to install Windows vista 64-bit on the computer
  • HD DVD on the Satellite X 200 - will not play with vista 64-bit
    I installed vista 64 bit on my x 200, thought I had everything working, but when I went to install the Toshiba HD DVD software, I get a message saying: it cannot be installed on this computer. I tried some third party decoders, and none of them has managed to read HD DVD!
    All ideas
    See you soon
    Jim
    As already said and mentioned by Sandors Toshiba software which can be downloaded from the Toshiba page supports only the 32-bit version of Windows.
    You cannot install it on 64 bit OS.
    In addition, the HD DVD drive that is published on the page is only the updated version.
    You will need the Toshiba HD DVD player, which is part of the image of Toshiba, if you want to install the update of the page.
    Hello:
    ordered this laptop with 4 GB, but the operating system is Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit, which means I can't use more than 3 GB.
    Could you please tell where to get DVD Ultimate 64 - bit Windows Vista so that I can upgrade?
    Please, can you send me an email to [email protected]?
    Thank you.
    Do you mean the 3 GB of RAM?
    Could you please tell where to get DVD Ultimate 64 - bit Windows Vista so that I can upgrade?
    For now, Toshiba does not support 64-bit operating system and the drivers for Vista 64-bit are not available.
    If you wish, you can purchase Microsoft 64 - bit Windows Vista Ultimate DVD facilities and try to install it on your laptop Portege.
  • Update of Vista 32 bit does not work after replacing the hard drive
    A month ago the hard drive of my computer (ACER Aspire 6920) had to be replaced. The disk image hard precedent (which includes the c: with Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit, SP 2 build 6002) has been mirrored to the new hard drive. Everything seemed to work fine until I noticed that I don't have more updates from Microsoft. I tried a manual update and got the message that the update service was not working and I have to restart the computer. However, the Task Manager showed that the update service has been executed. Of course, I rebooted the computer, but nothing has changed.
    I found a whole bunch of recommendations for this issue in this forum, but nothing seems to work:
    • The Microsoft FixIT tool indicates a problem with the update of components, and then said that the problem had been solved successfully. However, the problem is still there and rerun the FixIt tool Gets the same message on a problem (yet) found and fixed.
    • I also stopped the update service, delete all content in Windows/C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and restarted the service. without success.
    • I've temporarily disabled my security suite (Eset Smart Security 6) and tried the update. I also have fittings the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution to the scope of the antivirus, without success. On the old hard drive, I used a different security suite so I thought that maybe the ESET (that I installed everything recently) could be the cause of the problem, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
    • I also followed the instructions provided by Microsoft at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058, but again, no change at all. However, it should be noted that registering some DLLs that Microsoft listed does not work (message that the DLL is not found or some server entry point (my translation, I'm using the German UI and don't know English good term; sorry) could not be found.)
    Http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821 , I found another tool that supposedly can solve some problems of updating; I downloaded the version for Vista 32-bit, but it cannot install it on my computer (error code = 0xc8000247 during installation).
    So I'm really lost now what else to do. I would appreciate any suggestions. Please note that I am not technically very warned :)
    ARG, apologies.
    Was not aware that they had dropped support for Vista... (I myself have 'graduated' Vista earlier)
    The fact that you have not already installed TSRI is exactly your problem.
    Recent hard drives using 'Sectors 4 K', also known as 'Advanced Format Technology'.
    If the installed hard disk driver currently is not compatible with this specification,
    It will result in oddities like the status of the service Windows Update is not recognized correctly.
    Installation TSRI will fix this in most cases.
    Alternatively, if you are using Vista SP1 or later version (or 7 SP1), you can use the real driver.
    Since you are already updated to SP2, we will see if it is a viable solution.
    Go to: start-> Control Panel-> programs-> programs and features
    In the list of installed programs, locate and remove if found.
    -Intel Matrix Storage Manager
    -Intel Turbo Memory
    This should force your computer to go back to the real driver provided by Vista.
  • How can I order a DVD of Vista 64 bit?
    About 2 years ago, I bought a converted copy of Vista Home Premium to replace the disks 'restore your PC OS' terrible that came with my Gateway PC.  I have replaces chipset in my Tower and I wanted to get the disc for the 64-bit version of Vista, but the old links do not work.
    How can I get this upgrade?  I don't want to get Windows 7 now with 8 relatively soon.
    Hello
    Microsoft no longer has this offer for 64-bit available disks.
    If you bought Vista Ultimate, 32-bit and 64-bit came canned togather
    With other editions of Vista, if you have purchased a retail license, Microsoft would ship the 64-bit Edition for the cost of shipping.
    If a friend has a drive for Vista 64-bit, you can borrow and install the 64-bit Edition.
    See you soon.
  • MASTERED OPTION IS GRAYED OUT WHEN YOU TRY TO BURN A HOME PC PREM BRAND NEW VIRGIN DVD + R ON VISTA 32-BIT
    Due to virus I had to rebuild PC using the RECOVERY partition on hard drive. All windows updates have been applied to date (August 2011). Before the virus problem (July 2011) WAS able TO SELECT THE "MASTERED" OPTION WHEN YOU are GOING to USE WINDOWS TO BURN a VIRGIN DVD + r. NEW once AGAIN, this WORKED BEFORE, NOW THE MASTER OPTION IS GRAYED OUT.  I have a brand new DVD + R blank and tried several of them thinking it was the disk (I've used this same brand (magnavox) DVD + R 4 years now never this problem of the "controlled" option is grayed out.) I use the same DVD burner which came with the PC and it allowed me to select the option "Mastered" last month (July 2011). I am using Windows HomePrem 32-bit OS (originial system that came with PC and this allowed me to select the mastered option last month. I applied all the updates Win at present. I have no other problems with the PC. Once again, driving the nail: this WORKED BEFORE, last month on the exact same hardware and the software/OS (Juillet2011), then why this option appears GRAYED out now?  This question has been asked before and 'experts' simply stressed totally USELESS MS pages showing how to select either under control or direct - I DO NOT NEED THIS HELP as I ALREADY KNOW HOW TO SELECT either option and what each is for. Also the other 'fixed' DOES NOT APPLY to this situation. (Do NOT send me to the following links because they DO NOT ANSWER to THE QUESTION: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-hardware/burn-a-disk-mastered-is-unavailable-grayed-out/9eb41f09-1778-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5?page=1&tm=1312314316719#footer or http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-sound/mastered-format-option-grayed-out/aee1469f-1095-436c-9f12-acce80c2bb99.) These 2 links DO NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION, so answer the question, do not send us in circles, always looking for the answer.  How SIMPLY THE QUESTION IS: Fix us the radio button for 'Mastered' so that it is NO LONGER GRAYED OUT when you insert a brand new, clean the DVD + R in my DVD burner (same that I had for years, which worked before) on my Vista 32 bit OS HomePRem? I have a host of (222 blank GB) of disk space and a lot of RAM (4 GB) and again I WAS able TO select the "mastered"option before my restoration." Help!
    32-bit to 64-bit is NOT an upgrade path.
    It must be done with a clean installation using a Vista FULL 64-bit disk/license.
    Buy a version of disk/license FULL Vista 64 bits of your local computer, or online store: amazon, newegg, etc.
