  I have a Dell Inspiron 530 pc s and now its saying that the sm bus controller is missing, I want to download again to my computer but now it is not allowing me to get on my internet. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and how to fix it?

  Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite A210 adapter - 131, which came with Windows Vista. I uninstalled and installed Win XP and SP2 and I have several problems in my device manager:

  I've got "Modem device on high definition audio bus" and "sm bus controller" with an exclamation mark. I have respected the order of installation instructions, I tried the modem drivers, even for different countries (the laptop was purchased in Germany, now I am in Romania). I started to install the modem driver, I have a progress bar that ends after a certain time, but after that nothing happens. I restarted and I get the same message! I've looked everywhere, I don't know what to do, please give some advice! And what of the sm bus controller? I also tried to uninstall some devices that appear after the modem in the list of instructions, and then try again with the modem but no result.

  Sorry, but it is not easy to give advice when the drivers of Windows XP Home for Satellite A210 aren't available yet.

  If the modem is not that important to leave you it until the drivers will be available. Who cares about modem? Can you live without it?

  You did not mention which version of the operating system (XP, Vista, W7)?

  One needs drivers Intel gigabit network.

  The other requires the Intel Management Engine Interface driver (or the driver HECI).

  The last one needs that you must first install the chipset driver.

• Missing on HP Pavilion Media Center m8407c SM bus controller

  So I just picked up a Hp Pavilion Media Center m8407c on E - bay and had to install Windows Vista 32 bit, because it came without an operating system.  Downloaded and installed all the drivers of HP and updated windows. There's still no SM bus controller. Have seen this before and tried to install the Intel chipset drivers, but it wouldn't let me until I removed my Nvidia Geforce 8500 GT graphics card and used the video edge. Then, I was able to install the drivers for the G33 chipset which he is supposed to have, but still no SM bus controller.  All the drivers, patches, etc. are installed and up-to-date.  If anyone can help me on this, I'd appreciate it.   The only suggestion I can offer is to try to install manually as follows smbus controller driver...

  It shouldn't matter whether or not add it on the video card is installed.

  Download and unzip this chipset driver file.

  Go to Device Manager and click the controller smbus needing drivers.

  Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.  Select her browse my computer for driver software, and then navigate to the driver folder, that you unzipped.

  I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.  Recently, I did a Diagnostic system test on my PC and the test revealed that I need a SM Bus controller device.  I went to the gateway drivers and downloads section, did a search to find a device SM Bus controller, and research has revealed four options:

  2 390598_MA1_1_OEMGen_165622.zip - Intel network driver
  3 WHQL_5688_PG262_Vist_XP_Getway_Dolby.zip - Audio Realtek
  4 PV15.82.1461.zip - Intel video driver

  Here my question:

  I already asked the question on this forum: what is a SM Bus controller device and they advised me to go to the downloads Section and the router modem drivers and do a search.  As you can see, she came back with 4 options.  I am new to this and I don't know which driver to choose.  Can you advise?  Should I uninstall the previous driver (which does not work) before I can install one of the above or download the drivers above will download and update and clarify all the problems I'm having with the driver.
