Vista and Dell A920 all-in-one
I've asked this question before and received the response on the withdrawal of the old driver and install the driver updated from the Web site. I now have the problem of no communication between the computer and the printer/scanner. I've done all the troubleshooting section for this problem of the printer page and looked in Device Manager stating that the printer/scanner is connected and ready for use according to the diagnostic test... firewall is configured to allow the printer to go through it, etc... Any suggestions other than that? Thank you
chrysiis-chrysiisart,

Dell Photo All in One 964 - 10-64 bit Windows compatibility
Hello
I just bought a new Dell laptop and updated to Windows 10.
Unfortunally, my OS is unable to recognize the driver for my old printer Dell Photo All in One 964.
I have read all the post on compatible with this specific printer driver. I tested the procedure:-remove the printer
-install the driver Windows Vista - 32 bit or 64 bit and put Vista SP2 compatibility mode (also compatibility mode with Windows 7 and windows 8)
-Connect the usb printer. But only the Scan is installed successfully.
any help will be really nice!
Thank you very much
/ Reg
I installed the driver R146813 and it worked very well, for scanning and printing.
Sure to first temporarily disable your anti-virus firewall before running the Setup.exe that comes with this driver. Complete the configuration all the way, including the print test page. Turn the firewall again later.
The R146813 driver can be downloaded from www.dell.com/.../DriversDetails

Reference the Dell Photo all-in-One Printer 964 Installation
I have a Dell Dimension E310 and a Dell Photo all-in-One Printer 964. I am running Windows XP.
My printer was working fine, but the scan did not work right.
I uninstalled Dell 964 printer to help to change / remove programs.
I tried to reinstall Dell 964 Printer by using the Drivers and Utilities CD: printer all-in-one Photo Dell 964 CD came with my computer. I had this CD for 6 years and have used it to reinstall the printer before.
I put the CD in D drive. Sometimes, it will open the installation box (sometimes it isn't) where I can choose to install to a personal computer or a computer on the network. I click on personal computer and wait. Nothing happens. In the past this action begins the process of installing the printer.
Sometimes, I put the CD in D drive and nothing happens. In this case, I opened my computer then right click on the D drive (which shows the Dell CD). I click Open. Sometimes, the installation box opens. Sometimes it is not.
Sometimes, a box opens indicating that the computer has detected new hardware - Dell Photo all-in-One Printer 964. Operating instructions say if ensure that the Dell installation CD is in drive D, and then click Next. He moves to another window where it says that it is looking for the CD. Just, it maintains the search but can't find it.
My CD of Installation is worn? Is that why the computer can't find it? Or something else going on? Download the software of the printer from the Dell website? Can I get a new CD Drivers and Utilities: Dell CD 964 Photo all-in-one printer?
I have a limited knowledge of the computer.
I appreciate any help anyone could offer.
Thank you.

Dell 964 all in one Photo Printer not Scan
I have a desktop Dell Dimension 3100/E310 with a Dell 964 All In One Photo Printer. I have Windows XP on it.
I had to re - install the printer drives and software. I can get the documents to print correctly. I can get the printer to scan by using the controls on the printer. However, if I try to scan from the Dell 964 all in one Center on the computer, I get an error message that says:
Scan failed
Try these solutions:
* Make sure the all-in-one is powered. (IT IS).
* Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable. (I DID.)
* Disconnect, then reconnect the power cable from the all-in-one. (I DID.)
* Restart the computer. (I DID.)
Nothing has worked.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you.
ColemanCreative,
You should be able to scan from the Dell all-in-one Center.
Make sure that the application that you want to scan to figure on the list. Try to read...
Update of the list of applications to send scans to
If you are trying to scan to a PDF or by fax, you must install the OCR program from the disk of the printer.
In the digitization, if you have the disc that came with the printer, and then insert the floppy disk to the printer and keep it from running. Go to my computer and double-click it. Locate the drive that contains the disk Dell inside. Right-click on it, left click Explore. Find the folder of the OCR. In the OCR folder, there is a folder of Abbyy. Right click on setup.exe, which is located in the folder Abbyy and left, click Run as administrator. This will install the OCR program.

I have a 3 years V515 Dell printer all in one and have been printing in black ink only, but now my printer won't let me print, it says that it needs a color cartridge. I don't use any ink color. Everything worked fine until last week. Now machine does not print at all. Can anyone advise whatto. Thank you.
Hi Kathryn,
What is the exact error message you get?
This question has recently started? Remember to make changes before this problem?
As dax1792 is mentioned in the previous answer, some printers perform a cleaning cycle from time to time. At that time, they would also check whether they are able to correctly print the colors. So, they can ask to insert a color cartridge to perform these checks.
If you have installed a compatible printer PictBridge supporting software provided by the manufacturer, I suggest you to check the settings in the software to make sure that the color options are correct.
I also you suggest to remove the black ink cartridge and then reinstall the cartridge and then check once more.
If the problem persists, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer for additional assistance:
http://www.Dell.com/support/contents/us/en/04/category/contact-information?c=us&l=en&s=BSD&CS=04
I hope this helps. Feel free to use this forum for any other related issue of Windows in the future; We would be happy to help you.

Can someone tell me why I lost all my accurate color between iPhoto and my C8180 All-in-one?
I was full of pictures from iPhoto printing yesterday and all of a sudden the color accuracy went in the toilet.
Everything is green and stupid. It's terrible. The strange part... it allows to print very well everywhere else.
This morning, I slipped a photo from iPhoto to the desktop and then print it from there. Went well.
I lost something between iPhoto and my C8180 All-in-one printer. I've never encountered this problem
front. I tried all of the suggestions of the printer, but I'm sure that's not the problem. The printer and
iPhoto do communicate specifically. Someone?
Thanks for the 2 responses I received. Unfortunately, neither contributed to my problem. The problem
was not with my version of OS X or the HP software that has been installed. As I have explained, this set-up has been
works perfectly for the last 3-4 years. With the help of my long-time friend and Mac user many, many
years, we determined that it was a corrupt iPhoto preferences file. We have replaced the files preference and
It works perfectly again. The problem had nothing to do the printer or it's software. I am back
in the business. Hope this might help someone else.

Installation printer A920 all-in-one
I just bought a used, refurbished OptiPlex 755 PC with Win 7 OS and am trying to install my all-in-One A920 printer. This is the printer that came with (my Dell Dimension 2400 series) desktop I bought about 7 years ago. I downloaded and installed (or so I thought) a Vista 64 bit driver I've read on the Dell website is supposed to be compatible with my Windows 7 64-bit OS. I plugged my printer and opens the file. I thought it was going to guide me through the process of setting up, but he did not. My computer recognized my printer, and he let me even in the all-in-one program. I was able to scan a document in color (but it wouldn't let me save it), I was unable to copy or print documents, and the "empty cartridge" box came up saying that black inkjet cartridges and color were empty; they are not empty because I recently replaced both cartridges. I miss any step, or not to do something in the right order? The printer does not give me a lick of problems on my Dell PC with Windows XP. I don't want to have to buy another printer, if possible, any help you can give me would be appreciated! Thank you! p.s. I have not loaded MS word on my new computer, so I wonder if this has nothing to do with the printer does not. (??)
monksplay,
The procedure is listed below. The OCR program, found on the disc from the printer, is required for scanning documents and fax.
First run, delete print jobs to eliminate any print job stuck in the queue.
Unplug the printer.
Download and run the patch (cleaning printer utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.
Restart your computer. Make sure that the printer is deleted. Driver Manual printer removal
Download the 32-bit drivers for Vista for Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 64 bit Vista. Install the Vista drivers in Vista compatibility mode, you will get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at the moment (power on).
You will find links to the patch/drivers to...

Don't forget the programs anti-virus and firewall will block communications.

Locate the drive that contains the disk Dell inside. Right-click on it, left click Explore. Find the folder of the OCR. In the OCR folder, there is a folder of Abbyy. How to install Dell v515W on a Mac
I tried this on my purchased v515W recently, but I guess that it also works with the v515 and other Dell all-in-one printers. I recently bought the v515W for my wife who is a user of Mac, only to find out that Dell has no Mac drivers for it. Somewhere on the Dell site, they have a typo at some point that the Mac drivers are available for the printer. I used my Windows machine to install the printer. After much trial and error, I finally managed to get the printer to work from a Mac wireless.
- Configure the printer from a Windows machine
- Open System Preferences-> Print & Fax
- Click the + to add a printer
- Hello will now detect the v515W by the name of the printer
- Mac will complain that he could not find the printer driver
- Manually select the print driver for 'Lexmark S300 S400 Series' in the search box where you can select the printer
That's all it took to set up. Hope this helps,
See you soon,.

Thanks for your advice, which helped me to solve the problem of A960 Win 7 (64-bit).
But in my case the following worked, and it's a little easier:
1. If you have connected your A960 slot USB windows 7 hoping would provide the right driver via windows update: just remove the printer in Control Panel > printer > rightclick the printer > delete device.
2. no need to use the dell clean utility. No need to uninstall under "Uninstall" since it shows that if the wrong driver was installed by windows automatically (but if you installed a wrong driver manually, you can have).
3. download the Vista 64-bit Driver R153052.exe (or 32 bit, if applicable), links see PudgyOne post November 28, 2009 22:32.
4. install the driver: by clicking on the first R153052.exe extract the files in e. g. C:\dell\drivers\R153052. Then right click the setup.exe in this file and change compatibility for Windows Vista Service Pack 2.
That worked perfectly in my case...

I'm trying to interface a new HP laptop that has a 64-bit (HP Pavilion dv6-701) operating system and running the operating system Windows 7 on a HP All in one series F310 printer / Scanner
HP staff helped get printing to work via a 6980 HP printer Driver software download, try to download the software 310 driver didn't work so we tried this driver 6980 credits and print function works now
However I can't scan a document on the laptop of the 310, when I attmpt one scan, I receive an error message
Given that the printer uses a generic driver and is not a software that is supported on Windows 7, you can scan only programs such as paint, Windows Fax and Scan and image viewer.

Impossible to copy and scan on all-in-one printer, HP Deskjet F4180.
I can't make a copy and scan on the surface of the glass of my printer HP deskjet F4180 all-in-one. The printer says: error in the copy menu and seeing red flashes on color and black. However, I am able to print from my laptop and a pop-up message would be in my laptop showing the ink cartridges (black and color) are placed incorrectly. Check the ink cartridges, both are in their right place and broken up. Need help... Please.
I found this document which decodes what mean flashing lights. There are a lot of different codes described, but I found a heading "question: one or two of the lights blink check print cartridge" which seems to be what's going on your printer. Basically it's saying that the cartridges are out of alignment or defective. If the document is not help clarify, let me know and I'll see what I can find.
