Vista cannot detect my ATI HD2600 on Satellite A210-128 graphics card

Hallo,

Can someone help me with this problem?

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A210-128 with vista separately on DVD, but it seems that the dvd is damaged and I can't use it any more.
I installed on my laptop to a whole new Vista from the original DVD that I m using it on my desktop, but the problem is that vista cannot detect my hd2600 graphics card.
So I m stuck... I tried to install the ati driver on Toshiba Update site, but I get an error because the ccc cannot detect a graphics card? /

What to do?

It's something special with the DVD I have Toshiba?

Thank you very much.

The whole is really mysterious. In my opinion, there are two options;
Either your have used and tried to install a bad graphics driver or there is something wrong with your GPU chip.

You are 100% you tired of a graphics driver to the right of the European driver Toshiba page?
If Yes, then I recommend contact the ASP in your country, as this could be really a hardware problem.

Also I found you second secondment in another thread

and I think this must be a graphics card problem.

I bought a Toshiba Satellite A210 - 16G, PSAELE, pay a lot for this baby, but the support from toshiba is the worst, no update of drivers do nothing.
On ati mobile drivers there, but apparently not for Toshiba, Toshiba doesn't want users update their drivers...
My video is ati hd 2600 pro, 256 MB...
I couldn't use my card in win7 blue screen error again and again error video memory, etc.

    This is my problem:

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=50036

Installed win7 64, but does not install ati drivers (those mobile ATI official site), or others, I tried many things, same mobility modder, no pass, after restart without driver installation.

We need bios fix for this problem and drivers update, at least for ati chipset, ati video drivers, blueetooth.

I got this laptop for 2 years, today, there are 4-5 64 biti pilots... is not good for customers who pay a lot for it.
If I know that Toshiba does not update their drivers, I buyed an Asus or Dell, these thousands of pilots has...

It's amazing, the Explorer freeze again and again, until I am force to reset because the drivers... Vista is also bad, Toshiba as well support, at least in Romania.
We need drivers for WINDOWS 7, it's the future. Even Microsoft knows that Vista are zero and their Win7 release.
I did not understand why when you buy a laptop, you are forced to use their drivers, and after a few months, these drivers updates never... why we are force to use the old drivers?
For lan, sound, etc., we could use generic drivers (from realtek, etc.) but not for the video, chipset, etc.

Oh man there is so many things you don't understand and I don t know where to start with explanations. In any case, I'll write a personal opinion on all of this.

You bought the laptop two years ago and in that time, it was designed to work with newer OS at the moment. Is Windows Vista. I'm sure that it worked well and all the hardware components have been configured correctly. I don t want to discuss the performance of Vista, because it is not s Toshiba product. Toshiba offers equipment and additional software. It's nothing more than that.

I use Toshiba laptops for 10 years now and in these 10 years, I've worked on several different laptop models. Laptop was Satellite P200. I have had with Vista too, and until last month, I've worked with Vista without any problems. LAN was OK, sound was OK, graphic was OK, WLAN was OK, OK webcam. in two years of use, I installed OS just twice worked all the time with the Toshiba recovery image. So if everything works well and the laptop runs stabile why I updated?

When I read your ad, you expect that offers Toshiba updates every month or what. Why?
Why have most recent audio driver if the sound works perfectly? Why have updated driver for chipset if something like this is not necessary? What do you need? More performance? More stability? What exactly?

What about support? It is always very interesting theme. You know, since Win7 is the market I have visited several other laptop manufacturers support pages and I must say that the situation is not different than on the Toshiba site. To be honest, their pages are sometimes quite confusing without clear structure and the driver information.
Best example has display driver download. You are right, they offered more pilots display and real versions but often with additional penalty: use at your own risk only. Support isn't it?

To discuss on the Toshiba support, you must be honest and objective. The older models as your A210 or my old Satellite P200 are supported for Win7 but only 32-bit version. Where is the problem? OK I have old piece of hardware, but Toshiba supports me for more recent operating system. Should not be 64-bit version, but I can still use 32-bit with all the necessary drivers.

In front of me, I have brand new Satellite P500 with Win7 64 bit and on my right side older Satellite A300 with Win7 32 bit. You know what? Two runs perfectly and there is no much difference in performance of the laptop. Having good knowledge on systems operating and a few good tips you can configure the preinstalled operating system to run like a rocket. ;)

Install Win7 32 bits on your machine. Install all the necessary drivers and Toshiba stuff specific. Optimize and you will be happy with it. I'm sure on this subject.

    Bye and good luck.

    As to the question;

    (1) I think a SATA2 HARD drive would go because the standard SATA2 is compatible to the bottom. But I assume that the system will operate as a good HDD SATA.

    (2) Yes, you can install vista using the Toshiba Recovery DVD. It shouldn't be a problem with a fresh install

  • Installation of Win7 on Satellite A210-128 using carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-850

    Hello

I have a question about the installation of different OS Vista provided with Toshiba Satellite A210-128.

I Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ-850 drive and it will not read the CD bootable XP.
I found a few posts in other forums that this drive won't allow me to install XP.

So here's my question: someone at - he tried to install Windows 7 (RC TE) with this drive? Or maybe someone has been successful with the installation of Windows XP?

Thanks to all those who would like to help :-)

    Hi mate

I think you're a little confused, but I want to help you.
First of all it s any CD/DVD drive is installed in your laptop.
The installation of Windows XP and Win 7 should work with all readers who are able to read the CD or DVD.

I guess that you were not able to install Win XP because the CD/DVD drive was not able to manage this particular drive.
A friend of mine had the same problem with the other player. After a long period of use of the window of disc was not readable.
But he could solve this problem. It has burned (copied) the Win XP disk on another CD and then used the second drive to install Win XP.
The reader to read the other disk correctly.

Win XP and Win 7 are released on different disk but in most cases the readers should not have any problems with this disc
But if so, then it s mostly a problem of CD/DVD disc

Of course, you can try to install drivers XP chip manufacturing site.

    Hello

The graph using the graphics driver not-Toshiba would map and finally to a GPU overheating damage!
Graphic driver nVidia was not designed for the use of the laptop. This drivers don t support a GPU overheating as the graphics drivers to original Toshiba!

I think that the graphics card goes down due to a higher internal temperature.

The internal temperature increases because the GPU running at full efficiency and produces more heat as usual.
Toshiba driver control the performance of the GPU and sets it to lower the level if it of necessary.

  • Video issues ATI HD2600 on Satellite P200-1EE

Hi, I have a P200-1EE with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600.

I've been seeing a lot of colored pixels across the screen, generally blue and green mixed. I could just be reading a word document and sometimes I'm the pixels appear. I found the only way to get rid of it is to restart my computer or remove the cover of my laptop so it hangs my computer, then open it up and they disappear.

I went in the control of catalyst and I put everything to the factory default and it does not solve the problem. It's really annoying to play a game and then the walls are full of green and Red pixels!

I've never updated the graphics drivers on my laptop so I wonder that if they need updating, I bought it in November. I am just a little worried because I have not had the best story with graphic drivers and so I don't want to screw up my laptop.

I went to the toshiba site and in the driver from the downloads section, I typed in HD2600 and it come with an update of 11/03/08. Can I download and install it?

    Here is the link for the driver > [LINK | http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_driver_details.jsp?service=UK&selCategory = 2 & selFamily = 2 & selSeries = 152 & selProduct = 746 & selSho rtMod = 533 & language = 13 & selOS = null & selType = null & year = upload & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = allMachines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = 8 & selectedLanguage = 13 & type = null & page = 1 & ID = 61387 & OSI D = 26 & driverLanguage = 42]

Has anyone else had the same or similar problems?

Sorry, the link extends the post.

    Thank you, David.

I think it s a hardware problem, but the question is; What part does not work properly?
Either it's a graphics itself or the portable computers internal view.

You can easily find out what part is malfunctioning; Connect the external monitor to the computer, and then check to see if the same on the second screen. If the same appears then it s a graphics card failure!

In this case the whole mobo must be replaced!

    You are guaranteed valid?
So, don t waste time and ask ASP for help!

    Hi Lukas

The led flashes as it provides a microcode error!
This is especially if the malfunction of hardware has been detected.
I presume that the replacement of the graphics card is the reason!

As in previous discussions suggested the replacement of the graphics card is NOT possible. You don't believe!
Looks like that the BIOS cannot handle this new graphics chip.
