  I have tried to download service pack 2 for Vista for months and cannot operate.  It will always fail.  I also downloaded the stand alone and it does not work too.

  Cannot install SP2. 0x80070b7 error code. Also can't install the system tool, but no error code.

  Automatic update of Windows attempted to load 4 updates recently, but an error message came up saying that it could not install SP2. The code was 0x80070b7. I tried to install SP1, in the case who had not worked for a long time, but the message is that the 'SP1 Setup is already running. I tried to install the tool of analysis, but all I get is a message saying KB947821 could not be installed. My computer still works until all this happened, and now it crashes after a few minutes of walking. It will be release after 20-30 minutes for a minute or two and then lock up again. Obviously, something happened in automatic installation and now the laptop is somewhere between facilities. I'm away for two weeks and are in desperate need of my computer. What can I do?

• Vista - Error Codes: 80246007 & dt000 (cannot install Service Pack 1)

  I tried to install a 'Security Update KB2286198 critical"and the installation will fail.  The error message is: "WindowsUpdate_80246007" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"  I tried everything I could find on Microsoft sites, including the construction of a batch of repair to restart file BITS and something else.  That did not help either.

  Check if the Background Intelligent Transfer Service is started on the computer.

  To change or restart the Service (BITS) Background Intelligent Transfer

  You must be logged on as administrator to perform these steps.

  (a) open administrative tools by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Administrative Tools.

  (b) double click Services. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  (c) right-click the service (BITS) Background Intelligent Transfer Service , and then click Properties.

  (d) under the tab general , next to Startup type, make sure that Automatic (delayed start) is selected. If not, select it, and then click apply.

  (e) side of the Service status, check whether the service is started. If not, click Start.

• Try to install photoshop lightroom 6 I have windows 7 with service pack 1.

  I'm running the 64 bit version of vista buisness. I tried to install service pack 2 using the automatic update, but it has not installed. I also tried the manual download. He gets to halfway done installing, then gives me an error 0x800f081f code. He told me to install the system update readiness tool. I tried to install it, but that no longer works. Not even done a selective sartup with everything disabled except for windows services works.

  I suggest that you check your system for corrupted files.  You use the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker to check and repair corrupt system files.  To do this, follow these steps:

  I'm running Vista Basic; I have not installed Service Packs. When you try to update, I am able to download the packages, but I can't install them. After a few seconds, I get an error:

  Hello, I have an Acer laptop that has Windows Vista 32-bit Basic on it.  I did a factory reset on it and started to update Windows.  It says it installs successfully in 30 seconds about, but when you do another search that Service Pack 1 is found as a update and Service pack 1.  How can I fix it?  I tried the fix it tool and still no luck.

  I changed the hard drive on my PC and re installed vista. Several updates later and am stuck now with service pack 1 do not install it even if he says he has.   It is good, that you can not install Norton Product.  Stop trying.  No McAfee either.
   
  Avast, AVG, Avira , or UnThreat are choices fine (free option).
  You could spend ~ 60USD during two years of eSET NOD32 AntiVirus (not more - just product AntiVirus) and which would be more worthwhile.

  Regarding SP1 - do this manually.  Windows Vista Edition _, _ - bit? [Fill in the blanks]

  Download and save the SP1 that is appropriate for your architecture of Vista (32-bit or 64-bit) operating system (on your desktop).  Reboot and logon.  Right click on the saved file and choose Run as administrator.  Follow through until it's done and restart with 5 minutes between each restart twice.

  • Windows Vista 32 - bit SP1
  • Windows Vista 64 - bit SP1

  Download and save the SP2 appropriate for your architecture of Vista (32-bit or 64-bit) operating system (on your desktop).  Reboot and logon.  Right click on the saved file and choose Run as administrator.  Follow through until it's done and restart with 5 minutes between each restart twice.

  • Windows Vista 64 - bit SP2

  Then download updates post-SP2 via normal means.

  Save the file to a CD/DVD or USB key.

  Once you have the service pack downloaded file, you can use your current Vista CD to install a fresh copy of Windows Vista on your C: drive. Once you have installed Vista you can install service pack 2 directly from the CD/DVD or USB you originally stored it on. All you then need to do is to run the Windows updates to update your system completely.
