Updates, I get the error error 80070005 Windows Update encountered an unknown error. I want to bring my PC at the level of the current standards. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.
FYI... This seems to have started when I tried to download and install the update to IE 8 way back in September 2009.

80070005 means "access denied", you do not have the right to not want you wanted.
So were you connected to your administrator account when you try to install SP1? You must.

I suggest that you try the methods mentioned below and check if that helps.
Method 1: Put the computer in a clean boot State prior to the installation of SP2 (Service Pack 2).
Note: After installing SP2, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

I ran System Scan (programs / access / Comm. guest / Admin / sfc/scannow), I downloaded and ran hard it for Windows Microsoft updates, I also downloaded and installed the system (4/2009) KB947821 update tool via troubleshooting and tried to download and install without protection (via troubleshooting Microsoft Website) nothing helps, my attempts have failed and I'm waiting for my success , so I can run my trial version of Power Point 2011... that's how I discovered I was missing SP1. I have a problem with windows update gives me an Error 80070002 on a constant basis. I have read and reread the tons of messages with this problem and have the remove historical update and this compensation and restart that and downloading KB94781 BUT STILL nothing not working and cannot NOT DOWNLOAD anything for the updates. Everything else works perfectly well with the exception of Windows Update.
Do you have other solutions that nobody has yet found!
