using the event viewer, look in the log ' ogs application-microsoft-windows-client bits------operational ' for more details.

If the update in question is a .NET update then you suggest strongly manually download and * record * the MS Download Center.

http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx

Enter the number of the update in the field "Search all Download Center" and then click on the magnifying glass icon to start the search.

Once the download complete almost * all * open programs and browsers before installing it.

Close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

Some people (those with 32-bit versions of windows xp or windows vista in any case) said it suits it:

  • Vista - Error Code: 8007041D (cannot install updates)

I use Vista 32 bit and it drives me crazy. I've never had a problem with the Windows updates until recently when I was bombed by mistake D 8007041 and virtually no updates by installing.

About whenever I boot my laptop, it takes about 30-45 min to start up as a round trip you have windows important updates begins. The updates are downloaded and show as installed until it restarts and I get the message "updates were not correctly configured. Restoration of the changes. Do not turn off your computer.

Later I check the update history, and every update has failed (i.e. 90% of updates) a 8007041D error code.

Windows media Player will attemtpt open same commans, and/or the download either

    Hello shalba1,

    1. don't you make changes to the computer before having problems with Windows update?

    2. what exactly do you mean when you say that Media Player tries to open orders and downloads?

I suggest that go you through updates and find out what updates fail with error codes.

    a. go to the Windows Update Control Panel window. (Click the Start button, click all programs and then click Windows Update).
In the left pane, click Find updates. You can review or select available updates before installing them.

You can check what are the latest updates do not install and what are the exact error codes.

I also suggest to reset the Windows Update components. You can see the bottom of the article that will give you information on this:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

You can run the Fixit who will automatically reset the Windows Components update.
