  • Windows Vista (64-bit) does not start.

Last night, I installed the new McAfee antivirus due to having a virus that prevented the windows firewall to allow me to surf the net via my router (usually would work when directly connected to the modem). • Windows Vista Home Premium does not start after mother, CPU and RAM upgrade card

I recently updated my PC Windows Vista Home Premium. I changed the motherboard, CPU, RAM and video card. When I booted the machine, it has not started Windows. Windows tried to recover, but could not. Is it possible to get this machine to start without doing a new install? The new facility will lose important files.

    Hello

It's a normal reaction after replacing the hardware that you have replaced.

The hard drive with the installed operating system contains the old motherboard drivers, etc..

They must be replaced with the new motherboard, drivers etc.

You will need to reinstall the operating system and then install the new drivers of motherboard (you should have a diskette of drivers for it), if the new installation does not probably them, that it will not...

To backup your data > buy a hard drive USB enclosure > put your hard drive in it > plug it into another computer > read and copy your data from it in this way.

  • After the upgrade to vista SP2, windows does not start.

I have download and install vista SP2, everything goes well with the installation, no error, it ends without a problem, then it restarts my computer and after reboot, it comes up saying that windows didn't start (or your computer might not start)

I have 2 choices, start windows normally, that does nothing when I pick it up, the other option is to fix the problem, when I choose that it restore my computer to until I installed SP2, ive tried 3 times now with no luck.

also on a note related, when I try and open internet explorer 7, it crashes, it is said that she is looking for a fix for the problem and suggests so I run windows update, which is what suggested I download SP2.

  • Windows Vista on T500 does not start, recovery CD does not work

I T500 with Windows VISTA, but the system will not start.

When I turn it on, I can see Vista for some time of loading progress bar display, and then I get the blue screen with this error:

    UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

When I insert the recovery disc, it starts, but I can see that the screen of welcome with the spare wheel, no option to start the recovery.

A note: I have two sets of CD recovery. My T500 came with CD for Vista and Windows XP. I re-installed Vista some time after the purchase by using the Vista recovery discs (so the CD are OK). I did windows XP Recovery discs this time, and they don't work now too (I end up with the screen of spare wheel). When I had Windows XP I had a blue screen a lot from the start, that's why I reinstalled Vista.

Second note: I tried the chkdsk /r and fdisk/mbr using the FreeDOS CD - no change. (these are recommended programs to run when you have UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME, I see on the net)

Anyone could help with this... Well, absolutely essential?

OK, I found a sort of solution, managed to run the recovery CD and reinstall the system.

That's what I did, if someone wants to know or have similar problems:

    (1) created linux rescue CD

    http://www.SysRescCd.org/Main_Page

    (2) running linux, copied all the data on the disk external usb (you can read ntfs drives using the rescue CD)

    (3) deleted C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys

    (suggestion of)

    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/itprovistasetup/thread/a2ed1ff1-3c60-4CFD-ac4e-72f2... )

    (4) replaced the files listed in:

    http://www.tipandtrick.NET/2008/Windows-Vista-startup-hang-and-boot-failure-after-SP1-on-corrupt-DRI...

with files from another Vista station (I copied the sys files using the USB)

After you restart the projected system still blue, but the recovery CD worked!

I can see on the forums, many users experience problems similar to mine, and there are many many different solutions (I spent three nights to try ;-)

  • HP Pavilion m9252p Vista 64-bit - does not start

My Pavilion m9252p will not start not (diagnosis says corrupted registry) and before I take drastic measures of system recovery, if I remove the hard drive from my office computer and connect it to another computer as a second drive, I will be able to access the files of data from it?  I know that one of the options is to make a backup of the data of the system recovery, but I don't have enough storage.

As you suggest, you can connect the hard drive of the computer on which you have the question to another computer as a second hard drive and can back up the data and not the installed files. There is no wrong in that it's just for a data backup

    Hello

You may have a hardware problem which is the cause.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Home Vista Safe Mode does not start correctly. What should I do about it?

Hi, I was struck by an unknown number of bugs. I don't know how.  I ran my anti-virus software and could not find bugs. I tried to start in safe mode to run antivirus and Vista programs won't let me access Mode without failure. I turn on the computer, press F8 repeatedly until my options appear. I tried the Safe Mode and safe mode with networking Mode. In both conditions, Safe Mode begins to start. scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy

    Hi mate,

These questions - and especially a BSOD - aren't very good signs of a healthy system / machine. Recently installed a few new applications or something else?

OTHERWISE, I guess some hardware failures (memory, motherboard), because these problems appearing out of nowhere are probably based material and not really software Unetelle...

  • Tecra A8 does not start - I get a black screen

At the start of my TECRA A8 I get a black screen (invalid file Booting from c:\Windows Boot.INI).
    Why is this happening?

BIOS update did not resolve it.

    Hello!

I think that an update of the BIOS peut t solve this problem, because there is something wrong with the installation of Windows and the BIOS has nothing to do with it. If don t mix these different things.

In your case, I would like to use the Toshiba Recovery disk to reinstall Windows. This should solve the problem because the disc contains factory settings. After that, you should be able to start Windows again.

  • The event log does not start error 31: a device attached to the system is not functioning

I can't get the service to start on my winxp sp3 pc event log. I have tried everything I know:

    • Running sfc/scannow
    • Reset permissions
    • Search for malware and viruses
    • Rebuild the WMI
    • Create a new account
Nothing seems to work, I think that this is related to an error in hardware/device, but I see no problem in Device Manager. Can someone point me in the right direction to get this resolved? I don't really want to have to format or restore my PC...
    Thank you.

    * EDIT * well it seems to have fixed myself, I used regedit and navigate to the key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog

There, I found some records, I deleted the folder "Powershell" and the "Internet Explorer" folder, and the event log service, and then began. I had uninstalled IE and Powershell but these records were still there so I thought I would like to remove to see if he has made all the difference.

  • Windows XP does not start, I get a blue screen with STOP: 0x0000007E (0 x 0000005, 0 xC0000001, 0xF7AA13D4, 0xF7AA1D0)

so I used Spybot S & D to get rid of a virus on my computer that I thought was spyware. (basically what made the virus was redirect all my research on google for websites ad). After what's happened, he said I had to reboot my computer so I don't, Spybot run and then asked me a bunch of changes and whether to 'allow' or 'ignore' or 'refuse the change. I don't know if this has caused, but I clicked on 'allow' or 'deny change' for many of them, and then neither firefox nor IE would work because both would be would break whenever I tried to use them.

so to remedy THIS problem, I tried to use "System Restore" last week when my laptop was working fine, but the system restore everything screwed up my worst computer. Now XP will not boot even upward, and I get a blue screen with the error "STOP: 0x00000007E (0 x 0000005, 0 xC0000001, 0xF7AA13D4, 0xF7AA1D0) ' and its a cycle with no end of restarting but XP never works.

I tried the safe mode, last good configuration, all these options, known and none got XP to start.

I am so lost on what to do, can anyone help me?

    Thanks for all your comments
