  I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 (I think that SP1 anyway). Last night June 17, 2011, update of Windows installed an update or updates.   I suggest to perform the clean boot on your computer and check.

  From your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if a background program is interfering with your game or program. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot".

  To perform a clean boot on a computer, follow these steps.

  1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

  2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

  3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.

  4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

  5. click on OK.

  6. When you are prompted, click on restart.

  7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

  Cannot install SP2 (KB948456 - X 86) on a laptop Vista Home Premium 32 bit SP1 with all updates of Windows installed.  Quickly fails after it starts with error 0x800b0100 in the system log.  It's a fully verified SP2 full download.  I did a full chkdsk /r who fixed some issues.  Removed AVAST.  A running Fix It tool that fixes the problem with crypt services.  Scanned for malware with MRT.  Scanned for malware with MalWareBytes.  Scanned for rootkit with the McAfee tool.  Run the sfc/scannow, that signals mistakes.  The CBS.   I had the same problem after a registry cleanup on my touchsmart iq518a, don't know why it worked, but I fixed it by clicking programs and features in the control panel and uninstall the program "HP bluetooth." Everything still works perfectly and that the annoying message is no longer happens.

  It depends on the specifications of the system... XP might be infected with something, if its slow. You have it scanned with an AV program or something? Vista needs a bit more ram than XP. So, if there is not enough ram in the system, Vista can be just as slow (or slower) than XP. If the conversation of youre cable is an ethenet cable, you need it. Or you will not get on the internet

  Problem: Update marked Service Pack 1 (I do not know the real KB #) sent my computer in an infinite loop.  After a reboot "3 3 0% complete configuration updates / don't turn off computer" appears and the percentage continues to 100%, the system reboots and repeat.  I left the computer to update last night and now he has been yet updated this morning.

  Do a repair disc to do a repair system restore / boot:

  As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

  As your grave in the category above, download the ISO on the link provided and make a bootdisk of it.

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.

  Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

  I don't understand exactly how errors in the two newspapers are related, but my opinion is that, if I can solve my CheckSUR.log errors, CBS.log errors will disappear to, and then I might even be able to install SP1.

  Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

  For what is interesting, what I ended up doing to solve my problems was to re - install Vista with the 'upgrade' option, so I don't lose any of my files or desktop settings...

  After that, I had a few problems with my OS reinstalled with several (80 +) updates, SP1 and SP2 from catching up.  But overall these problems were minor compared to it, that I lived just to fix some missing files.

• An upgrade on the spot with a Vista Home Premium SP1 won't work...

  My Vista Home Premium has some problems such as the audio service starts do not. Microsoft sent me a Vista DVD but it is SP1 and I installed SP2. It will work yet? I want to perform and the upgrade on the spot, but it does not give me the option to upgrade... just do a custom upgrade which is really just a new facility.

  Any help is greatly appreciated!

  You will need to uninstall SP2.

  The SP installed cannot be higher than the SP on the DVD; Otherwise, the operating system installed is newer than what's on DVD, and upgrade is not available...
