Vista Home Premium will not write to CD - RW; will write to the CD - R and DVD
I installed all the updates window vista Home premium. I have a DVD/R/W/drive. Vista will write a CD - R disc and the DVD disc. Vista will open the media on a CD - R, DVD, and CD - RW, which is what I use. Vista will not write on a CD - RW disc, sending the files on the drive, pop - up Vista says "insert writable disc in the drive", or he'll want to format the drive, formatting always fails; I removed the filter upper and lower; I used MR. FixIt, and she came back with "media in the CD/DVD drive is not writable '; the disks are writable, but they are not recognized by Vista in writing. Here are the nine on box Maxell CD - RW discs. I have no problem with vista, write files to a CD - R or a DVD to burn. Windows Media Player will burn music to these CD - RW discs. How can I get Vista to recognize a CD - RW as a recordable disc?
Hello
1. what program do you use to burn files to CD - RW discs?
2. what type of files you are trying to burn?
3. this happens with all new CD - RW discs?
Try these steps and check.
Step 1: Lower the burn speed and check.
Step 2: Reinstall the driver of DVD player.
a. click Start, click run, type sysdm.cpland then clickOK.
b. in the hardware tab, click Device Manager.
c. expand ligthscribe-ROM readers, right-click on the drive and choose uninstall.
When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click OK.
d. on the Action menu, click on Search the hardware changes.
Step 3: If you have still the CD for your burning software, uninstall all the other DVD burning software on your computer and check. You can install their return after verification.

Step 4: Try to use the same disks on another computer and check if you are able to burn on these disks.
Thanks and greetings

Windows Vista Home Premium does not start after mother, CPU and RAM upgrade card
I recently updated my PC Windows Vista Home Premium. I changed the motherboard, CPU, RAM and video card. When I booted the machine, it has not started Windows. Windows tried to recover, but could not. Is it possible to get this machine to start without doing a new install? The new facility will lose important files.
Hello
It's a normal reaction after replacing the hardware that you have replaced.
The hard drive with the installed operating system contains the old motherboard drivers, etc..
They must be replaced with the new motherboard, drivers etc.
You will need to reinstall the operating system and then install the new drivers of motherboard (you should have a diskette of drivers for it), if the new installation does not probably them, that it will not...
To backup your data > buy a hard drive USB enclosure > put your hard drive in it > plug it into another computer > read and copy your data from it in this way.
See you soon.

My desktop under Vista Home Premium does not connect to the internet.
I have an Acer Aspire X 1200 desktop equipped with a NVIDIA NForce network controller. About 1 week ago I was browsing the internet, Norton anti-virus popped up and told me to renew my subscription. Now, I've never had Norton on my computer and when you click Remind Me later, my internet crashed. Now the whenever I plug my ethernet cable in the box, it connects to my router Motorola 5BS101 surfboard, but it does not connect to the Internet. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium. I tried to run malware programs remover, thinking it was a malware, nothing done. I tried to run to remove virus and nothing. I tried to change the IP address to my my laptop was broadcasting, because the internet runs on it, but no results. When using the command prompt to find out what the problem is, it says the active IP routing: routing WINS unactivated: No. looking at the stats of network adapters, it says active DHCP: No. address IPv6 local link: fe80::15f9:58e2:c2d8:66e7 10%

Vista Home Premium can not find applications and networks.
Vista Home Premium (manuf. installed) can not find applications (application to go to define associations in control panels?), does not recognize my wireless network and available restore points are only for dates after the problem has occurred. If I buy a Home Premium DVD and do a clean install should I expect to get a working computer?
Hello
You mean reinstall the OS completely? If you have Vista DVD you can do however make sure to
totally your data off the drive of backup, and you need to reinstall your programs. If you do not
Disks of Vista, you can buy them in your machine to cheap system. If you don't care about existing programs
Then you can make a complete new installation - just select the format options that erases the entire disc (this
Clears all data as well).Some system manufacturers use Partitions recovery and other methods to allow you to go back to a
completely new facility. So check with your system manufacturer to see what options you must do
- and it's certainly doable - just a question of the process the manufacturer of the system set in place to
you.What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?

Vista Home Premium does not see my HDV camera
I recently bought a Sony Z5U HD camera and tried to connect to my Vista Premium 64 bit laptop. Windows don't "bong" and recognize that anything that either is connected. If I plug an older camera, it works fine as it should, so I don't know that the firewire connection works correctly. In addition, I plug the same new camera to a tower of XP and it works fine. I contacted Sony and they said that Microsoft has not added 64-bit cameras HDV codec on Vista 64 and I should downgrade the operating system to 32 bit, which sounds extreme. I googled for the 64-bit codecs, and everything I can find relates to play a variety of file types video in Windows Media Player, which seems CLOSE, but not quite accurate that I know this might solve my problem. There are codecs that I can install to allow my HDV camera to be recognized by my Vista Home Premium 64-bit OS?

Okay, so I recently bought a laptop... About two weeks ago now, I think that... It's a Dell Studio 17, and it runs on Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. So far, I had a lot of problems to install programs on it. When I tried to install AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) it wouldn't download; I finally managed to do install via the start menu somehow...
BUT now LENS won't let me sign... but that's another story! lol - the real thing that worries me is not able to install games. I just bought the Sims 3 and after inserting the disc, choose a language and a count of the wizard InstallShield, once I have access to the license agreement page and click on 'I agree' and click 'Next' an error message pops up saying something about impossible to install. He has a huge long error code and I don't know what that means. At first, I thought there was something wrong with the drive, so I went back to the store and exchanged it for a new one. When I got home and tried to install it again, it's the same thing. Then I tried to install another game that I have (Zoo Tycoon - Zookeeper edition) just to see if any game would work... It's the same thing; before he actually started to install an error message came. The first error message said something to have an invalid character in some way... ? ! (no idea...) Then an other error message pops up something else I didn't really...
So, as you can see, there must be something wrong with my laptop. PLEASE HELP SOMEONE. I would appreciate advice...!Hello
Try to run the game as administrator installation program.
1. open the content inside the game CD/DVD.
2. right-click on the configuration file.
3. Select 'Run as administrator'.Alternatively, you can try to install Windows Installer 4.5 from the link:

Windows vista (Home premium) is not shut down or restart
The computer (with windows vista edition Home premium); NVIDIA Geforce 8400 M GT GPU) is not shut down or restart. I suspect it's due to updates of windows do not. The error code that is more common that I've seen is A 80071, 91, and then other codes of error like 80071A2C. Here are updates of security for vista and internet explorer. Please help on this issue so that the pc starts shutting down as usual.
Thank you
"md123456" wrote in message News: 0d2c53df-b4e6-41b0-8773-211803475406...Thank you very much. Would be a new instal OS solve these problems?
If you mean a new facility on a reformatted drive or a system recovery using recovery of the manufacture process, Yes, certainly, unless it's a hardware problem - but then you learn nothing about what caused the problem in the first place and so how do I prevent it from happening again.WRT your mistakes: -.1. nothing to worry about, as most of the machines do not have parallel ports today (unless yours does?)(2) it is difficult to talk about this, without more details-, but because they say "dependants", rather that "unload", it can probably be ignored.(3) it seems normal - I've seen a lot of PC with this error, and apparently nothing wrong. -It is important only if you are connected to a domain server(4) the service (I think) is a result of system crash, rather than a cause of the grip.It seems that the cause of this will remain a mystery.My earlier concern about SR doesn't work not just because of problems still standing stop - but back your data first, so that if the worst happens and you cannot start the system later, you can go to plan B.As Lorien says, try a back system restore to before the problem started - although at 2 months, I would worry about the stability of the system later. Since you already said that you are willing to do a reinstall if necessary, give it a whirl :)HTH

A legal version of Vista Home premium suddenly "not true."
Yesterday I suddenly got an alert on my cell "Windows Vista (TM) Build 6002 this copy of Windows is not genuine".
My copy is pre-installed on my Lenovo Y510 laptop several years ago and is the real deal.
I did nothing unusual/different to my laptop only a few weeks, against my better judgment, I downloaded and installed SP2. I had all sorts of issues with SP2 in the past and uninstalled many years ago but as I could not find a security (Norton or Kaspersky) package that could work without it, I had to install again.Diagnostic report (1.9.0027.0):

I tried to follow the instructions you gave, but was never given the option to "Country" or "Phone Activation" - perhaps because Vista is preinstalled by Lenovo? I just kept getting messages that I have the product was not authentic and if necessary, to buy a new code of product etc...
So I ignored the messages that the version of Windows, I had was invalid and found and seized the key to product repeatedly. Of course I should have done cela all along , but I assumed that the messages I received on the version being not authentic not meant that this step would bring back me to square one - and other assignments seem to imply the same - a message that the version was not genuine meant that it would be useless to enter the product key.
. My version is now accepted as authentic by just entering the product key, although I seem to have lost some functionality (background had to be changed etc.). And I am still puzzled about my Vista how happened to legal illegal overnight!My apologies to send you on a wild goose chase!

lack of cd installation for window vista Home premium, but not the sticker on laptop?

Vista Media recovery obtaining and/or using the Vista recovery on your computer Partition to factory settings .
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
Dell Dimension E521 Windows Vista Home Premium does not start
My machine is more initializing. Nothing appears on the video monitor!
The lights at the front (1, 2, 3, 4, and sighted business disc for HD and DVD players) flash as if it is starting.
I put in the DVD Dell to reinstall Vista, without any difference.
Any suggestions?
My laptop is Toshiba Satellite p300 version made. Is it possible for me to download and install a trial version of Vista 32 and enter the serial number given at the back of my laptop to save it? I don't want to buy another OS, while I already paid for it. Comments, tips, suggestions, and help is appreciated! Thank you.
Hello
Why did did you format it. That's what you had to do to reinstall Vista.
If the mentioned in this link recovery Partition is destroyed, you will need to contact Toshiba and see if they have Vista recovery discs available.
They provide, for a fee.
Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
