Vista I have an ATA connected to a USB HDD, I don't have a statement!
A vista taskbar icon indicates that I have an ATA connected to a USB hard drive, the player he reports is actually my internal drive 'C'. I can't delete this report in «stop and eject» unit because it is of course in use. I tried to remove and reinstall the USB drivers and fill all the USB slots with other devices, but even with all the slots filled I still have a hard disk that is reported. Any help her please this problem of compensation.
I have seem this several times. It is not really a problem; You can simply ignore it.
If you really want to get rid of the icon, you can try going to the site Web of the manufacturer and checking for updated drivers. There is an old post showing how to remove for some drivers using a key to register here: http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic35442.html

In windows Vista (Home Premium) Remote Desktop connection does not work correctly
I installed and re-installed my Vista (Home premium) 2 times already because of the remote desktop connection. I have a problem connecting from another laptop running windows 7 to connect to my desktop running Vista. The remote control works on the other hand the meaning of desktop running vista, laptop running windows 7 Professional.
Looking at the Vista under \System\Remote setting\Remote tab which shows the remote assistance box, but the Office box where you can choose what type of connection can be established remotely is missing.I went though all as responses to forum, but nothing helped. Even in a "sfc/scannow" command prompt running did not help. It is said that he finds corrupted files, but it cannot solve all corrupted files. That's why I reinstalled windows hoping to fix this problem but WITHOUT SUCCESS.
Can anyone help? I've attached a screenshot of what I see in vista.
You can connect FROM an original version of Windows to another computer, but you cannot connect to an original version of Windows.
It is not an 'idea' it's hard cold fact that is at least 12 years old.

Want to move from 32-bit vista to 64-bit vista but have no disk.
Original title: Vista 32-bit to 64-bit without disc.
Hi all
First post and not very technical minded (although not completely clueless) so go easy.
In short, I want to upgrade 32-bit vista to 64-bit vista but have no disk.
Long story, I have a dell latitude e4300 with professional vista installed on it. I bought the laptop from a company who buys wipes of the company and sells them on. When I bought the laptop it is everything I had... the laptop, manuals, disks etc. I want to increase the memory on the laptop 6 GB but have read that I need 64 bit vista to take advantage of this.
So, how can I do this with only the product code for windows? or is this even possible?
Thank you very much
John
"Can I move a version 32-bit Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows?
N ° if you are currently running a 32-bit version of Windows, you can only perform an upgrade to another 32-bit version of Windows. Similarly, if you run a 64-bit version of Windows, you can only perform an upgrade to another 64-bit Windows version. »

See why upgrade to Windows 7 makes sense
However, and my dilemma who found your post, amounts to:
- If you head to 64-bit (a number somewhere North of 1.844 E19 one approach the number of electrons in a Coulomb for free!) AND you don't have a product key, why not make the leap to 8.1 Windows 64-bit? and,
- It should be first of ALL to ensure that your "32-bit" software will run in a 64 bit environment especially make sure that your printer has a compatible driver update.
PS Your interest to think "upward" is necessary and laudable. Your question is carefully constructed. It has never been my experience to find the answers except kind, helpful and generous in the community Microsoft. Similarly, it is called the 'social media' or 'public access' sites (YouTube, for example) where the landscape is littered with fecal printing.

I have HP COMPAQ 6710 WINDOWS VISTA, I HAVE LOSS MY OS HOW to GET IT?
I have HP COMPAQ 6710 WINDOWS VISTA, I HAVE LOSS MY OS HOW to GET IT?
Hello
You can contact HP and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
They should do this for a small fee.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.
The recovery process can be started by pressing F11 at startup. (Power on / start)
You can also make your own recovery discs.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

Sticker license Vista missing - have product key, but NO version
Hi all
I am currently working on a laptop that originally shipped with Windows Vista. The original hard drive failed and the system is unable to boot from it.
I have a replacement for the system HARD drive, but the license sticker to Windows Vista on the bottom of the laptop disappeared, and although I can read the product key, I can't tell which version of Windows Vista this appies to (for example, 'Basic', 'Home premium' etc.).
I tried the site of the manufacturer without success and is not any support for system recovery. I have Windows Vista OEM discs, but I'm not sure who the product key to apply to. is there a way to tell? This information can be found by browsing the files on the original defective HDD?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Call the manufacture, they should have a record of your purchase. Once you are able to identity what version of Vista you have to find a friend with a 'Detail' of Vista installation DVD and use it to install (you choose the version of Vista you have ordered) Vista using your product key.

I need 2 reinstall windows vista, but have had is no longer my installation cd, cani always reinstall?
How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
They will tell you how to do this.
Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
I have an old laptop that I am trying to set up for my daughter. It had XP on it and I have a physical disc of Windows 7 I have installed on it. I bought 7 retail to upgrade to Vista and have since upgraded to 10. The product key is coming as invalid. I thought that I could use it again since I upgraded from 7 to 10. Is the product key invalid, because I already used it once even if I'm not on 7? Can I buy just a key somewhere or I have to buy a new copy of 7 again? It installed fine that I just can't turn it on. Thank you.
OT:
Windows 7 product key
Because the free update of Windows 10 used the license to the retail of Windows 7 as an eligible basic license, you cannot transfer it elsewhere or you reuse.
You will need to purchase a new license of Windows 7 or buy a license for version full Windows 10.
My recommendation to waive the license of Windows 7, I would buy a full version license Windows 10.
Once you do this, you can just update the values of product key for your system runs Windows 10, and then reactivate the license of Windows 7 by phone.
Buy Windows 10 family/professional edition
How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)
