Vista Icons refreshing 3 times each time you start

Hi, I have an annoying problem with my laptop. It is currently running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2, the processor is a Celeron M clocked at 1.8 Ghz with SATA drive of 160 GB (half full) and 2 GB of RAM. I'm having a problem with the freshness of desktop icons 3 times whenever I start the computer, it's more a gene that it slows down the time before I can access the programs. I tried different things, including the cleaning disk, Virus Scan, Registry Clean (CCCleaner), removal of spyware (Spybot S & D and Windows Defender), Disk Defragmenter, Msconfig (disable startup items and services various), remove and renew the icon Cache etc., disabling of Windows Aero, no sidebar. In my notification area, there is only the volume, network icon, battery icon, touchpad and antivirus (AVG, have tried to disable AVG as that which has been proposed as a problem, but it was no difference).

Other than this problem the computer works well, but the icon refresh is annoying, and this habit never to arrive, even with a smaller hard drive and less memory.

Anyone know of a solution? I can post more details if necessary just I want to know what you would like.

Hi thanks for the reply, I tried what you suggested the most, but I think I found the solution then post here in case someone else has this problem. I ran msconfig and unchecked the options for the ATI driver helper objects Browser (display), it's Ati external event utility in the services tab.

After reboot, the problem seems to have disappeared, tried 3 reboots since then and the PC seems to start much more quickly.

Now I want to know is there anyway I can commit this so that I don't have to use the selective startup option, or do I have to disable services individually in services.msc?

  • SE message file each time you start download

The computer in question is used in a school setting and has been disconnected during the summer. It runs xp and IE 7. After hanging upwards, to every startup I get a message about an upgrade of the realtek driver, I think that not having is not enough memory to load, it will and then the dialog box "do you want to run or download this file", files downloaded from the internet can be harmful, etc.. The file is a Web site accessible from previos year, so I guess it may or may not be infected. everything I chose has no effect on it reappear the next time you start, reappears when ie 7 is open. It looks more boring than anything. These computers are used by children thus have a variety of glitches, crashes. any suggestions will be appreciated as maintenance is left to teachers for most

I solved the problem by updating IE7 to IE8. I suppose that reinstall IE7 would have worked too. Seems somehting is stuck in the old browser. It turns out that it was even more embarrassing that I knew first, since the message will reappear when opening the browser or changing web sites. I had to install IE8 and reboot the computer before he went. If someone can explain why it worked, I would like to know

  • Why print alignment page every time you start?

Recently, my printer HP (Photosmart C3180) started printing a page of alignment every time that I turn it on. This seems to be a cynical way for HP to sell more ink, because my printer has no alignment problem. The alignment page wasting my paper, waste a ton of ink I have to pay for and wasting my wait time to perform another task, deal with the sheet of waste and waste time more often when I have to buy ink. I searched through all the instructions and installed Help topics and find nothing that even talking about alignment each time you start.

    Hello

Most probably the alignment page is printed on every reboot due the alignnment process is not entirely complete.

Try to complete the alignment process by following the steps below:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01336397

Alignment must also contain black, yellow, Magenta and Cyan as the example below, any color missing due to the low or empty ink cartridge can cause the alignment to fail

  • HP Pavilion dv2700 laptop displays the message "system CMOS checksum failed" every time you start

    Hi @all,

I have a HP Pavilion dv2700 - kh933ea laptop computer #abv (it is a HP Pavilion dv2799ee Special Edition Entertainment Notebook PC to be exact) that displays the message "system CMOS checksum failed. Press F1 to continue"every time you start the system. My OS is Windows 7 / 32 bit.

Then I updated my BIOS to version 2.4e, 01-dec-08 Phoenix (the SMBIOS version remained the same before 2.4), but the issue is not resolved. I have attached a screenshot for processor and BIOS versions.

Can someone guide me on how to solve this problem?

Thank you very much in advance.

I don't see the screenshot of your post attachments. Please repost them.

This error message means that WHAT BIOS is damaged. You will need to have the BIOS flashed in a mobile shop, repair a BIOS or an HP Service Center. Do a search online with Google or Bing repair for a BIOS.  If you keep trying to update the BIOS there will come a time where everything you have a black screen.

Recently, I downloaded several updates to Windows Vista.  Among them have been updated for my NVIDIA GeFroce 6200 display THE and NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller.  Restarts, 2 of my 4 screens would not appear.  By checking Device Manager, there was a mistake with the controller who controlled the 2 monitors.  The failure of two attempts to restore to a previous download time.  Then I downloaded a driver for the controller by mistake and was able to resume all 4 screens.

However, when the computer reboots, monitors have been rearranged in order on my desk and a remained dormant.  I can bring to the top of the screen 4 by extending to the desktop under display and, at the same time settings, change the location of my primary monitor.  However, I don't want to do it every time I start my computer.  Also, all my icons was reorganized.  Any ideas how I can stabilize my understanding of monitor on my desk?
