Vista machine will power but just a black screen

I have a pavilion of hp with vista home premium.  When I turn on my machine that comes from the power on the drive light flashes once and then just stand there.  I knocked on all the F keys nothing.  I put in the disk recovery and nothing.  Thanks for any help

If you do not have a Splash Screeeen (HP Logo, etc.) to turn on, it looks like you have a hardware problem

And also, you can not start in the recovery process, which is implemented by HP.

If under warranty, contact HP.

If this isn't the case, under Warrany, I would try a local and trusted computer repair workshop.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,

  • Son of anarchy BD Discs will not play on BDX4400 (black screen)

    Hello world!
Just wondering if anyone can help with the following: I had some problems with the blu - Ray of the BDX4400 player (remote works do not, the reaction is slow, frozen Portal etc.) for awhile, but it was ok with playing DVDs / blu - ray... Up to our days. I come from the Sons of Anarchy box, insert the first disk, and then the screen goes black.

You can hear the disc turning for a few seconds and the play icon appears but then it's all... Just a black screen and you can't even eject the disc (remote not working do not when it is at this point).
I tried other discs of this set, but the same thing happens. However, the other DVD / Blu - Ray work. Therefore, I am sure that the player is fine, but maybe im missing a parameter that must be changed...?
Someone had a similar problem? (I disabled the internet connections and the bd-live function, but not luck)

The region code is correct and FW is up to date, so this may not be the root of the problem, if all fails, I may have to blame the actual discs, but I have trouble believing that 15 discs are damaged...

Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions, which would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

It is always a stupid situation if everything works perfectly, but not with some discs/disc.
In case your player works well with the other BR disks that the problem must be with the disks you have.

Is there a possibility to test the disks on a few other BDplayer?
You laptop / PC with BD optical drive? Can test you?

To be honest, what is unclear to me that something can be changed (settings) in this case. Either it works or not.

    Hello islem.

    1. what was the error message from Windows explore, that you have received?

2 did you recently install Windows updates on the computer?

    3. do you have security software installed on the computer?

Check if you can access the desktop by typing explorer.exe using the Task Manager.

If you are able to access the desktop, then I suggest that you perform the clean boot procedure and check if it helps.

If you are unable to access the desktop then boot in safe mode then run clean boot.

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Restart the computer to return to normal mode.

Try the steps below to perform the clean boot on the computer.

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    clint341,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Answers forum.  We cannot guide you more precisely by changing the BIOS settings that the BIOS settings are specific to your motherboard.  However, most (if not all) parameters of the BIOS have an option to restore the default BIOS (sometimes called "default opitimized").  It may be an option in the menu that you highlight, then press enter or it can be assigned to an F key and States at the bottom of the screen, press F? for the default settings.  I hope this helps.  If you are still not able to reset, check with the manufacturer of PC for more information about the BIOS. Hello tfortexas

Do you get the login screen before the black screen?    You never even get to the desktop?

Try this fix.  You will need an XP installation CD.  If you don't have that it is OK to borrow one.  Try to get the same version of XP as your example Home/Pro/Media

Configure your PC to boot from the CD if it is not already configured in this way. You may need to enter the BIOS to configure the PC to boot from the CD.

    Set the boot order of

    Floppy (if present)

    CDROM

    Hard drive

    RECORDING and EXIT

Start your PC with the XP installation CD in the drive. When you see the prompt «Press any key to boot from CD...» ", do and start the process to boot on CD.

When the Recovery Console option is available ("press R to start the Recovery Console"), do it. You may be asked to what Windows installation to enter, what kind of cases the number of the Windows installation you want to work (usually ' 1').

When you are prompted, enter the password for the Windows installation. If you have not set up a password just press ENTER

    At the command prompt, type

    FIXMBR

    Come in

    Then type

    Fixboot

    1. have you made changes on the computer recently?

    Method 1.
    Change hardware acceleration
You can try to change the hardware acceleration in the middle and check (you can try another level too.)
    a. right click on a space empty on the desktop.
    b. go to the resolution of the screen.
    c. click Advanced settings, and then click the "troubleshooting."
    d. set the hardware acceleration in the middle. (here you'll get the only option your video card sound support).

    Method 2.
    a. you can also check that Windows is up-to-date to check updates for your hardware.
You can also run the difficulty below that diagnoses and identify codecs that can cause windows to become unstable or stop responding.
