Vista of Service Pack 3 or is there a single XP SP3?

(1) Vista must SP3 download?

(2) there is only one version for XP SP3, and where can I find?

Original title: grady c. glenn - investigation into SP3 for Vista and XP

(1) the latest service pack for Windows Vista is Service Pack 2 (SP2).

It is difficult to say if there will be a service pack 3 for Vista that Microsoft can only say with certainty.

The service packs are usually an accumulation of updates, combined with a few 'new' additions, so basically, if you have all updates installed you are already completely up to date.

(2) Please check the thread below for a possible solution:

    Hello

Vista is in the Microsoft extended support until April 2017.

Depends on hardware configuration required on later operating systems, and also find out if the manufacturer of the laptop computer is supported and provides drivers for operating systems later as to whether it is possible or feasible to upgrade or not.

There is no free upgrade Vista to 7, 8.1, or 10.

Follow these steps before you buy Windows 7.

Microsoft sells more than 7; Try Amazon.com.

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Check if the manufacturer of your computer/laptop has Windows 8.1 drivers available for your model.

If this is not available, Windows 8.1 not install and work properly for you.

  • Is it possible to repair an installation of sp2 with an installation disc of vista (without service pack)

I have Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 installed on the drive. But I have an original DVD of Windows Vista (without service pack). Can I run the repair utility on this disc installation DVD? Will this work?

    Hello

    Loy is not going.

You will need to uninstall the Service Pack on the operating system that is installed to do a repair installation upgrade with this Microsoft Vista DVD which has no Service Packs on it.

The Service Pack on the DVD must be at least the same as the operating system Service Pack level installed to make it work.

  • SE 8024008 error when you try to update Windows Vista 32 Service Pack 1 to Service Pack 2

    Hello

This Dell Inspiron notebook running Windows Vista 32-bit Service Pack 1 and Windows Vista stopped editing about a year ago.  I just got the Service of update to start working again, a sort of...
However, when I tried to update to Service Pack 2, it gave me error 80246008 and when I tried the link to fix, Services did not show the background BITS Intelligent Transfer Service () in respect of the services, so I followed the suggestions of Jose Antonio Ponton Posada CEO and tried the repair tool valid my Windows Vista 32 BIT and run the tool , but he said that repair BITS is not required on this computer.
I checked the State of the Windows event log, and it was running.
Please tell us how can I update Windows Vista Service Pack 1 running on this computer for the current Service Pack.
    Thank you

  • I would like to re - install Windows Vista, but my drive does not all service packs. Download Windows Vista with service pack already on it?

so, I'm running vista 64 bit basic, I want to do a fresh install,

but my drive is very early (noservice packs ect) can I download of ms a basic family of complete up-to-date vista 64-bit with sp2 with my cd key? or should I shut up and make from my cd and cope? If I do a reinstall should I reinstall all my programs as well?

    Hello yaleblor,

You can download the full SP2 for Vista from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16468

Save the file to a CD/DVD or USB key.

Once you have the service pack downloaded file, you can use your current Vista CD to install a fresh copy of Windows Vista on your C: drive. Once you have installed Vista you can install service pack 2 directly from the CD/DVD or USB you originally stored it on. All you then need to do is to run the Windows updates to update your system completely.

You can find out how to do a clean install by looking at this link from my Web site: http://vistasupport.mvps.org/install_windows_vista.htm

After you install Windows Vista, you will need to re - install all your programs, so make sure that you have all the programs by hand before starting to consider reinstalling Windows.

  • Vista: Unsuccessful Service Pack 2 install (Error 80070426)

original title: the Service Pack installation failure

I have a HP Pavilion 061 and Vista Home Premium 32-bit running. The following has occurred:

    1. Windows has detected an update, service pack 2. It came out like two years ago, so I don't know why my system just inform me of the update. I did the update. After installation, I couldn't start my computer to run Windows. I could access the screens before starting Windows. I tried a variety of options, but could not do anything for work. SafeMode would note boot Windows. System Restore does not seem to work and start with an earlier version of Windows does not work, even though I'm not a very competent with these options.
    2. I used the 'Windows Vista Home Premium Express Upgrade' original CD. It reinstalled Vista without any service packs or updates.
3 Windows started, but I lost all my old files and programs.
    4. I tried to install Service Pack 1, but it would not be installed successfully. I ran the software to Microsoft for Service Pack 1 upgrade and tried the upgrade. It did not work.
    5. my Control Panel does not open.
    I need help:
    a. install SP1 so I can run the Office 2010 software
    b. to restore files lost, if possible
    c. open my control panel
In my view, that a virus may have caused this. I ran Avast, but nothing is found.

I run Avast, the free version. He will do a 'quick scan' and didn't find any viruses. When I do the "full system scan", it crashes and the computer shuts down.

Or, you see the effects of an infection (perhaps because the computer Vista was online without being fully patched) or the effects of not running the Norton Removal Tool when you should have done.

    In any case...

If (and only if) you can use the Vista Upgrade disk to do an clean install of Vista (after formatting the HARD drive!), see the poster in this thread and follow the instructions of (my) WHOLE (to the letter and in order! ) to return Vista to a safe & functional State: http://answers.microsoft.com/thread/c44429fb-3f7c-4646-8529-5a97bb3cd0eb

If you need additional help with the clean install of Vista, please start a new thread in this forum: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-system

    ~~

Otherwise, you will need to format the HARD disk and then perform a new installation of Windows XP. Once you get fully-patched WinXP again, you would be able to upgrade to Vista again (but why anyone in their right mind does not want to do, is beyond me). Follow the instructions in this post of mine in another forum (to the letter and in order! ) to return Windows XP to a safe & functional State: http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=44636

  • How to get a Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 pre-loaded drive?

    Vista SP2 installation disc

I have a DVD disc of installation for Vista Home Premium, 32-bit, with no SP. I bought it retail at Fry shortly after that Vista was released and have used this copy of Vista on an Intel D975XBX2 Mobo. I kept Vista updated with periodic downloads from Windows Update. I have a valid product key provided with the DVD of the installion said. For reasons which are not relevant, I lost the hard drive I was using with Intel MoBo975XBX2. Now, I'm doing a clean install on this MoBo Intel even using the original installation DVD. Because my installation DVD is obsolete, I can't complete installation.

I would like to get a DVD with SP2 installation of Windows. How can I do?

You pouvez integrate service packs in your DVD, but everything that it is placing the SPs in the update folder and adding their execution for the installation of Windows script, result being an RTM installation with automatic update for SP1 and SP2, therefore subsequently. Allows you to save a few clicks of the mouse after the initial Setup, but is probably the same that if you downloaded the SPs manually through Windows Update.

Install DVD with integrated SP2 are available through Technet. If the download is not free. But maybe you know someone who has access Technet, which might give you a disc?
