Vista on Qosmio F20: SD card reader and Media Player keys do not work

I recently updated my Qosmio F20 for Vista.
I got most of the job functions, but my SD card reader and fixed keys for media player still haven't.

I can't find the drivers for them (I don't think they exist for a F20) so I was wondering if anyone had a solution.

Thank you

Hi faarn

You can't find the Vista drivers as Vista don t drivers is on the page of Toshiba. Some people have posted a link to the official document on the units of Vista support and the Qosmio G and F20 was not on the list.

But another clue. Check the drivers in another series as F30 or G30. But the chances are small that the pilots will run

  • I installed Vista in a Virtualbox VM and the product key does not work, how to fix this? I use the same product key supplied with the computer originally.

I bought a Dell Precision T3400 of Dell Financial Services and it came with Vista Business installed.  I installed a new hard drive and installed Vista in a Virtualbox VM by using the recovery disk that came with the computer, and the product key does not work for activation.  I get a message that says I need to activate Windows, but he says that the product key is not valid.  How can I fix it?

    Thank you

If you have reinstalled the OEM of Vista Business copy on the new hard drive, as Bill says you can't also use it in a virtual machine.

You can only reuse your OEM of Vista professional copy if it is no longer used on the computer. Do you have what operating system installed on the new hard drive? It was an upgrade copy or complete the license?

If you used a license to upgrade to another edition of Windows to replace your copy of company then Vista Business license is still in use (for upgrade) and you cannot reuse it in your virtual machine.

However if you replaced Vista business with a copy of the full license of another edition then you are able to use the OEM copy in a virtual machine, but only on the same computer. You must use the product key from COA to the label on the computer. The product key is put in the copy OEM cannot find the SLIC table on the host motherboard. You must use the phone activation from within the virtual machine. Click on start in Vista Business and typing "slui 4. Do not meet the audio guests until it asks you if you want to speak to an agent. Explain that you have completely replaced the OEM copy with a copy of the full license of the new windows and now want to use the OEM copy in a virtual machine on the same computer. Agent will then give you the activation string. Remember that the virtual machine is not transferable to any other computer.

  • Tecra M1: left and right arrow keys do not work

Hi, my tecra M1 upwards, the left and right arrow keys do not work on the standard keyboard - no external keyboard. I can't find a keyboard tester to see if the computer recognizes these keys. Only the low key works - no problems with others like PG. Prev or PG. Next, etc. etc. Any suggestions?

    Mike Mori

    Hi Mike

When you start your laptop at the beginning you can see the symbols of disk in the lower corner of the screen. If a player is selected under the side, you will see a short line. When these symbols appear press immediately to the left or right arrow several times to see if the line will be cut to the left or to the right. On this way, you can try to check if these buttons are recognized from the beginning.

    Please inquire about the results.

  • Installed Tuneup Uitlitie and my control keys do not work

    Hello

Since I installed Tuneup Uitlities my keys do not work.
For example: I can't adjust the sound volume or toggle wlan with the keys F1 - F12.

I already searched in Google, but I can't find a solution. Is it possible that Tuneup have uninstalled or disabled the Launch Manager? How can I install/activate this new?
    I can't find something.

    Hope someone can help me,

    Katja

    > Is it possible that Tuneup have uninstalled or disabled the Launch Manager?

Never heard talk of launch manager on the Toshiba laptop computer, but of course, the FN buttons are controlled by special software.
I put t know what system you are using and what laptop do you have but for example:
Using the Win 7, value added package system and some utility Flash card access buttons controls the FN.

  • Laptop HP 15-R203tx: brightness (f2 and f3) function keys does NOT work

Model - HP laptop laptop 15-R203tx

    OS - Windows 8.1 Pro 64-Bit

Graphics - Intel HD 5500 integrated

    Dedicated NVIDIA GeForce 820 M

I updated the drivers for my also well-integrated dedicated graphics card but still my function keys f2 and f3 for brightness control does not work although all other keys work.

This PC comes with the BACK, but I started it with 8.1 Windows Pro 64-bit.

    Hello

Well that does not explain why your f2/f3 keys do not work as you have only the Microsoft base driver installed - if the Intel driver has already been installed Ok, this may indicate a hardware problem.

What happens if you try to install the Intel HD 5500 driver directly from Intel - it's the 2nd file in the list on the following link.

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/search?keyword=Intel%C2%AE+HD+graphics+5500+for+5th+generation+Intel%C2%AE+core%E2%84%A2+processors

If it installs Ok, reboot the laptop and let Windows fully load for a few minutes before checking it in.

    Kind regards

  • Windows XP and Media Player will write not CD player

Here's a strange.  Until recently, I could write on a blank CD through Windows (data files) or Media Player (music).  Now Windows says empty disc is a complete application so a blank disc and Media Player says I have no burner.  Funny is that Nero recognizes the burner and it will do the music CD.  I had to send files on my laptop to burn data CDs.  Checked the registry via RegEdit and not made the change to a single value, so that the player is CD - RW (from CD - R).  Got rid of the Roxio installed by Dell awhile, as I wasn't with her.  Have not yet done the utility disk via F12 at startup.

    So what don't understand me?

  • Qosmio G35 - 600 - card reader and control buttons do not work

    Hello

So I recently installed windows XP on my Toshiba Qosmio G35-600 and I found all the drivers except two. If someone out there could help me find this would be great.

    (1) the first driver, I can't find is for the control of Toshiba above my keyboard buttons (I think that's what they are called). Quosmios have 12 buttons on the top above the F keys and currently only my power button, the brightness keys, up and down and the keys sound dolby work. The key analog TV, the Media Center button, play, stop, previous, next, check-in and s-video, the buttons do nothing more. It would be cool if I had again a s-video on the ability, but above all I want is the previous play and next buttons to work.

    (2) the second problem I have is with my built in SD card reader. A few times I thought I found the right driver, but after installing the SD card was not appearing in my computer.

A pre-emptive thank you for the help,

    Xamboni

    Hello

On the U.S. Toshiba download page, you can find drivers Windows XP Home (link given by Luc). I think you're missing Toshiba controls for Windows XP (don't forget the common modules is installed first) and Texas Instruments PCIxx21 FlashMedia driver for the card reader.

Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD drive decoder and video card protection. Try to install a driver available for your video card.

But Tuesday, I played the DVD without problem and now, I am confused and I need help to understand what is happening.

    Hello texanbelle,

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum.

I am including instructions below a scan to help repair the system files related to some components of Windows, including Windows Media Center, and Windows Media Player.

Repair Windows Vista Media Center files

You can use the following steps to repair files that are part of Windows Vista Media Center:

    1. click on the Start menu, choose all programs, then Accessories, then right-click on the item to the command prompt and select run as administrator

    2. click on continue to allow it to open a prompt with administrator privileges

    3. run this command in the cmd prompt: sfc/scannow

    4. the cmd prompt should list text stating "start system analysis. This process will take time. »

    5. wait for the scan to complete (this may take several minutes, so be patient).  This command will scan all protected system files and attempt to replace the incorrect versions by appropriate Microsoft versions

    6. once the analysis is complete, the SFC tool will indicate whether or not it found no problems and whether or not he was able to correct

    7. If any errors are reported that SFC could not resolve, there are steps in this knowledge base article which explain how to locate and attempt to correct errors

    8. after fixing errors that are found, try to use Windows Vista Media Center again.

Fix Windows Vista Media Center registry entries

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to fix key/registry values that are installed by Windows Vista, as there are files.  If you want to try to repair the registry values/keys that are part of Windows Vista Media Center, you will need to re-run the installer of Windows Vista operating system and repair the operating system.

  • Satellite A500 - software jump issue and eco mode key does not work

    Hi all you guys :)
I read many forums these days, and my problem is still there.

I did an update provided with records of 2 updates for Toshiba (Windows 7 on a disk and drivers updated to this OS in the other disk) and the first 2 weeks, everything was ok. Then stopped working the windows media player jump list. The jump of live messenger never worked but good list. I didn't have the will to uninstall them, clean and reinstall. It was just the messenger.

After media player jumplist that I started looking on the Internet, but nothing has worked, sfc scannow, the antivirus is mse, and I never changed anything. After that, also started to pop-up Windows defender turned off at startup and then also stopped workin the eco mode selection button and the button display to open mediaplayer.
    What can I do?

I also updated the BIOS and I have the latest Windows.

Sorry for the long post ;)
    Thanks to all in advance!
    cyaaao!

    Hi mate

I'm not very well if this problem could be related to an error in Win 7 m.
But everything looks like it could be the case

In my case the jumplist will appear when I do a right-click on the IE icon or the Windows Media icon placed in the taskbar on the left side.

I searched a bit a found this MS Jumplist page and how to handle this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-jump-lists-to-open-programs-and-items

Maybe this could be useful for managing the jumplist.
