Vista Remote Desktop for Win 7 Pro (host) (client) home
I use VPN to connect to the server - works fine. Remote Desktop to my IP address of the host keeps coming back with "invalid credentials" and invites you with password entry. I know that I entered the password correctly. Any help out there
I finally got to work. I changed my password on my computer Windows 7 (host). When you enter the user ID in Remote Desktop, I had to use user domain\username. It worked finally.

Windows Remote Desktop for Mac 2.01 - buttons Invisible Radio
I have a MacBook Pro (Intel Core i5 2.53 Ghz to) that I use to connect to a desktop computer Dell Windows XP Professional SP3 Windows Remote Desktop for Mac 2.01. Connecting to XP from my Mac desktop, everything seems to work properly. Looking more closely however, radio buttons do not appear on the applications that use them. This does not work with just a single application, but in all areas with applications and web browsers in the side of XP displaying my Mac desktop. This problem can also be reproduced with laptops and desktop computers running XP SP3.

Updating the measures for Win - XP Pro, SP1 to SP3 (jump SP2?)
I do volunteer work 1/2 day per week for a small organization non-profit organizations with a very limited budget (almost non-existent). We work in the given space, but have free access to the DSL service.
We have the following...
1 2000 computer HP desktop, Intel Pentium 4, Windows 2000, 256 MB RAM, 30 GB, CD - R, IE - 6 hard drive.
2 2006 Compaq desktop with Win - XP SP3, 512 MB RAM, 60 GB HD, CD - R, IE-8.
3. computer acer laptop 2008, Win - XP SP3 with 512 MB RAM, 40 GB HD, CD-R/W that works (depending on what day of the week, it comes), IE-8.
One of our local "family" donated the following for us...
2004 work HP desktop with Win - XP Pro SP1, 512 MB RAM, 105 GB HD (less than 30 GB used), CD - RW, DVD-R, IE-6,
-plus a new module of RAM of 512 MB which could be installed.
-a new, but not installed, updated graphics card.
These two were going to be installed, but the client fell sick and recently passed away.
While this desktop computer is older, it has been used very little, 'C' part of the HD less than 30 GB of 105 GB used, less than 2% of disk fragmentation, no scratches, dents, original basic mouse and keyboard... excellent shape.
In order to remove the HP 2000 desktop computer, I suggest the following...
(A) delete all the old software, except the WIN - XP.
(B) defrag the HD.
(C) the Win - XP, SP1 rollback "original updated" status. HP support pages imply that he is a "clean install". HP has the SP1 of Win - XP original on a segment of "recovery" of the HD.
What else is necessary (I guess)...
1. install the new 512 MD RAM module.
2. check that the current power out sufficient to manage the 'new' graphics card (requires 250 watt power)... and install the new graphics card... or just stay with the existing graphics capabilities if the power supply is insufficient.
3. update all hardware drivers.
4. load Win - XP, SP2, and SP3... or just go to SP1 SP3? (comments, please)
5 install Internet Explorer 8... or IE-9? (comments, please).
6. use of Win - XP SP3 and security center firewall... or install (?) for a protection antivirus and antispyware... suggestions sincerely appreciated.
7 install MS Office 2007 Pro (unused software, gift).
My dilemma... What is the sequence own/recommended to perform all these steps...
A / B / C / D? and 1-2-3-4-5-6-7?
Remember that we do not have money for a new computer, but I don't have the time and (I think) the ability to perform the steps.
Thanks for your suggestions, recommendations and comments.
Greetings - FLgal
Your Service Pack 3 CD contains the SP3 .exe Setup file, so you don't need to download what you fortunately already.
If you need to download this file, it would have been safer to do using another PC. But since you have it, don't you worry in this regard. :-)
So you're on the right track!

Remote Desktop for Dummies...
I found this forum...

So I followed the instructions and created a new host name. I don't know what to do with it. Is it wrong?
Hi Yes,
Remote Desktop, included with Windows XP Professional, allows you to connect to your computer over the Internet from any computer, Pocket PC or Smartphone. Once connected, Remote Desktop gives you the keyboard and mouse control of your computer while showing you everything that happens on the screen.

Where can I find the Windows Media Player for WIN 7 Pro 32 Bit?
My windows media player will not open. I upgraded from Windows 7 starter to windows 7 Professional recently. I have windows 7 32-bit professional. I tried to use the 64-bit (this is all that is available on the windows site, but my computer says this is not the right program and will not install it.) Where can I find the WMP for WIN 7 Pro 32 Bit?
Unless you have an "N" of Windows 7 edition, you must have Windows Media Player. If you have an "N" edition, please visit:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/is-is/Windows7/products/what-is-Windows-7-N-Edition
For more details and a download link.
The case, first try to find the executable file for Windows Media Player and create a new shortcut from that.
1. open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer).
2. navigate to:
C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player
3. find the file named wmplayer.exe and then right-click on it and create a shortcut on the desktop.
4. test the shortcut.
If the above does not work, try:
1. click on Start (lower-left) and then on Control Panel.
2. click on programs and features.
3. on the left side of the screen, click on 'Windows turn features on or off".
4. look for the entry called multimedia features, expand it, and then *check the box next to Windows Media Player.
5. click on OK.
6. restart the PC.
* If the Windows Media Player box is already checked, uncheck the box , click OK, restart your PC, then do steps 1-6 above.

Hello world!
Could someone, please, tell me, why there is no driver SATA AHCI controller for Compaq 610 for Win 7 PRO SP1 RUS x 64 in the download section of HP support for Compaq 610?
(01) where can I get the latest version of the SATA AHCI controller driver for Compaq 610 for Win 7 PRO SP1 RUS x 64?
(02) the original Intel (r) Matrix Storage Manager V8.9.0. 1023 will replace the ' Standart controller SATA AHCI 1.0 (Microsoft) "(v. 21.06.2006 6.1.7601.18231) with the more recent/latest version?
(03) will be the upgrade of the SATA AHCI driver improve the speed of read/write of my any percentage HARD drives or this idea is nonsense and absolutely useless?
I'll be very grateful for any useful info! Respectfully, Tianuchka))
Hello:
I would use it to HP... the description tells you what it does.
The HP 6910P has the same controller and chipset as the 610 HP.
Who answers your questions first 2.
Regarding the 3rd, I don't know whether or not you notice an improvement.
If you want to update the driver, you can also install the last utility Intel chipset installation from the link below.
Download, unzip and run the setup.exe file. Then restart the PC.

Hello
Pritner pilots are delivered through Windows Update, you do not need to install all drivers HP on your PC to install the HP Laserjet 1160.

Lost metadata when transfer of Win Vista/WMP 11 for Win 7/WMP 12
Hello
After I moved all my music library from Win Vista/WMP 11 for Win 7/WMP 12, I note that several metadata is lost. For example all the values in the PlayCounts and stamp fields have been updated with 0/white. Before the transfer I backed up all the metadata using the metadata (http://www.dalepreston.com/Blog/2007/03/windows-media-player-metadata-backup.html) backup program which I was recommended to this forum. But when I try to restore I am not able to run due to the restoration, the button is grayed. I change all the file/folder names.
I also noticed that the KeyField field existence more in the library. Is it possible to restore these values to the new database?
Very grateful for any help to recover the missing data!
Already answered in the forum of backup metadata:

Another way to downgrade to win 8 pro for win 7 pro
I got a new Mini-Tower xps 8700 with 8 pre-installed pro victory. I think this falls into the rules of dell for win 7 pro downgrade. The question is can I use a reinstall pro 7 dell victory of a computer drive dell laptop to achieve this downgrade?
"I got a new Mini-Tower xps 8700 with 8 pre-installed pro victory. I think this falls into the rules of dell for win 7 pro downgrade. »
They are not rules downgrade "Dell"... they are rules of downgrade from Microsoft, and Yes, Windows 8 Pro (Pro ONLY) qualifies for the downgrade rights. Activation for downgrade rights is the responsibility of the user, so you can activate it using ANY other license (even if used on a different machine/account without affecting this license)... a Dell installation DVD is eligible. Normally, a Dell installation DVD requires NO key to enter, and the range of systems that work with a DVD is extensive, but not universal, so if it asks for a product key, you will need to have one of your own to provide.
Why would you downgrade?
