Vista security

It seems that since a recent update, Windows Vista Internet Security is continually prompting me to buy the full version. I have a third party security program, so I don't want to buy the Vista Internet Security. He is periodically running controls and alerts register. I tried to stay in the center of security through Control Panel, but none of the changes I do actually. The checkbox 'Launch Vista Internet Security at the start of the computer' is checked, and I can't uncheck. Any help in disabling or uninstalling this so that I can use once more my computer without boredom?

Hello

Use above message for intense and thorough check for malware.

To restore the ability to run any .exe programs.

1 make a Restore Point so that you can come back if necessary back although probably not required.

Yes, you need to solve the problem and install them in particular because they are updated for security.

Try to download and install manually by download on your desktop and install them one by one. Insert the number of KB to get updates on the right and choose the one corresponding to your version of Vista: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx.

If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  Disable your security software.  Then try the updates again. Once this is done (if it worked) don't forget to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

  • Updates to Vista security for the 13/04/2010 caused the crash

Vista security for 13/04/2010 updates crashed my computer.  After days to isolate the problem, restore from before 04/13 and back out updates, I wonder what to do next.  If I defragment to clean up after the mess, it installs the bad updates again.  If I put it back to automatically download it install bad updates.  I have my computer still works but for how long?

Hello.  Sorry that it took me so long to get back but my PC crashed pretty hard and I had it slick and start over.  For some reason I couldn't not also get logged back here and had to create a new code.

In any case, after you have installed correctly KB978601 he continues to black screen, then mode without failure.  I tried a number of different things and finally it would not go voluntarily to Safe Mode and I had to encourage him a little with F8.  Didn't know what to do after many, many hours of work, then I wiped with automatic and started data backup on the other.

It seems that everyone had updates 04/13, including Microsoft, Adobe and NVIDIA.  There was a problem between the updates and my graphics driver, NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS.  Even when I supported on the graphics driver for several versions it would be me kick out to Safe Mode or restore the system.  Each time windows said I needed to update my graphics driver.

I reinstalled everything and still had some problems, until I defragmented several times.  It seems to work OK now.

  • Vista security updates cause IE does not connect to internet

x 2 last month, when I ran the Vista security updates, I have been unable to get to all the websites with IE8.  I have a connection to the internet, but IE will not connect to all websites.

This is a laptop and I am currently wireless, however I had the first problem with updates when wired, then, happens to be it.  I have to go and uninstall updates of security one at a time until I have found the culprit.  This time it was KB974571, the last time it was KB972260.  I disabled updates now because I'm tired of this.

I am completely disgusted with Vista.  MS should provide XP for anyone wishing to revisit it, for free.  I'd be at the front of the line

If somebody can tellme why security updates would cause this problem, I would appreciate it.

  • Computer is not download the 'important' for vista security updates

    Hello!

I have problems with the download of the microsoft/windows updates current.  My computer is set to automatically download, but there was a series of 10 "major updates" that I've been prompted to manually download.  However, I get a notice that my computer could not download 5 of these 'important' for vista security updates.  Important security downloads carry reference numbers: KB956744 KB971557 and KB971657, KB973507, KB973540.   Are the other three updates that will not download "update for Windows Vista for x 64-based systems (KB968389)" and "update for the filter of junk mail from Windows Mail for x 64 systems (KB905866).»

Can someone help me understand how my computer download these updates?

    Thank you

    Hi Brian, confuse

A good step to start with the recommendation provided by Jos Raymond. In addition to this, you can try to clean boot.

We would like to get a better understanding of this issue, so we can better help not only you but other users with similar problems.

What version of the operating system you are using (Windows Vista or XP)?

Please let us know if you see errors or the Windows Update window error codes.

Has nothing changed on your system just before that this problem has occurred - all new hardware devices installed?  New software or updates installed?

If you can give us these answers we can help diagnose this problem.

Meanwhile, I have a few basic steps that you can follow first, we can try to put the computer in a clean boot state and then try to install the updates:

To do a clean boot, follow the steps below:

    1. Log the computer by using an account with administrator rights.

    2. click on Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration Utility. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click continue.

    3. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the Load Startup items check box. (The box use the Boot file is not available.)

    4. on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click disable all.

Note Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

    5. click OKand then click restart.

Once the computer restarts, try to install the updates. If you are not able to install, please check for error messages or error codes.

To restart the computer to a normal startup, follow these steps:

    1. Click on start to reduce this includes this image, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER. Reduce this includes this imaIf that you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click continue.

    2. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    3. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart.

I hope this information is useful.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

    Hello

Have a pack of service higher than on the DVD is discussed in the links provided.
If you have a DVD of Vista without SP then you will need to uninstall SP1 to use that
disc and later re - install SP1. If you have installed SP1 SP2 disc, then you
you will need to uninstall SP2 to use the disc and later re - install SP2.

Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leave the file system, Web,.
Operational network (Script and behavior are also recommended in Ver 6 +).

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
    right of IE)

Two versions of Avast are available 6.x and 4.8 x

Avast - home - free - 6.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
    disabled - click OK
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

Avast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
    Finish those you don't use).
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4

Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.
    http://www.prevx.com/   <-->

Choice of PCmag editor - Prevx-
    http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2346862,00.asp

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.
