  • Vista SP2 wants me to install KB947821, but it is already installed

    Hello

Recently I tried to install vista SP2 without result, he gave me error code "SP1 must be installed", but he was already. To resolve this problem, I used the instillation of vista disc to upgrade my computer to vista, which corrects this problem. I then proceeded to the install SP2 and restarted my computer, resulting in a complete system failure and the inability to restart my computer. I tried to reinstall vista via the instillation CD and it did not work, so I had to delete all partitions including my internal backup and finally it has helped my computer install Vista from the outset.

Since then, I downloaded almost all the updates as well as on, KB947821 and tried to install SP2. Now, I get this error message when trying to install (after preparation of your computer room):
"An error system not service pack install. Please download and execution tool the "check IN" http://... "but I already did.

    I tried other things:
VLite removal: vLite did not exist
Start in selective mode: same mistake as main

Please help, I would really have the SP2.

    3. click on continue in the UAC prompt

    4. search for network connections, network list Service, knowledge of network and Service of Network Store Interface locations

    7. make a right-click the service and select Properties, change the startup type to automatic

    8. repeat if necessary for the services listed in step 4

NOTE: You should do this for each network connection.

    Disable the DHCP Broadcast Flag:

    Link: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/928233

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

322756 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/ ) how to back up and restore the registry in Windows

Windows Vista cannot obtain an IP address from certain routers or some non-Microsoft DHCP servers

To resolve this issue, disable the DHCP BROADCAST flag in Windows Vista. To do this, follow these steps:

Click Start, type regedit in the search box, and then click regedit in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\ {GUID}

This registry path, click the (GUID) subkey that corresponds to the card network that is connected to the network.

On the Edit menu, point to new, and then click DWORD (32-bit) value.

In the new area #1, type DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle and press ENTER.

Right-click DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle, then click on modify.

In the value data box, type 1 and then click OK.

    Close the registry editor.

By setting this registry key to 1, Windows Vista's trying to get an IP address using the BROADCAST flag in DHCP Discover packets. If that fails, he will try to obtain an IP address without using the BROADCAST flag in DHCP Discover packets.

The only program that I'm aware of that currently relies on IPv6 is the new Windows meeting space. The first 2 changes will cause this program is not to work - but all of your normal (IPv4) connections will leave unaffected. If it causes problems that you can't overcome, simply go back to the original settings.

    To clear the DNS cache:

Click Start, type cmd in the search box, and then click cmd in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

Once at the command prompt, type ipconfig/flushdns

  • Vista SP2 not recognizing not not SD card with the external drive

I have a Dell PC running Vista SP2 32 bit, and I just bought a card reader IOGear (GFR204SD, USB key with slots for SD/MicroSD cards). With the help of one of my Android devices micro SDHC cards (both brand Sandisk 16GB, I have a Droid and a tablet of Sanyo), this USB drive will not be detected, but when I click on the icon that appears in my computer, it just says "Please insert disk into drive h:" even if the card is inserted. Cards read very well if I mount them by the smartphone, but not on this device. The IOGear online chat person was no help for me until my connection has been lost, and before I asked them once again, I thought I would see if it was a Vista problem.

Every search I did shoot a lot Info for XP or SP1, but not to SP2. And in Device Manager there is no yellow triangle exclamation the device seems to settle but the card itself does not seem to be save.

  • Vista updates not defective to install SP1 & SP2

original title: Vista will be not updated

I help my neighbor with his laptop Dell 1520 running Vista. She had some problems with IE-7 and I noticed that the laptop has not had a successful Windows at a time update long (do not have SP1 or SP2). I tried several attempts to get the updates to work and finally reloaded the operating system software Windows Vista to factory state - first of the recovery on the HARD drive partition, then a second time since the recovery disks provided by Dell. In both cases, the subsequent updates refused to stick. The first batch of 107 updates downloaded and installed, but then to restart something goes wrong and the system goes into Startup Repair which ends with a system restore. The end result is that many updates end in failure. Never can get past this, even by trying all the updated Microsoft suggested tips (mode boot, security turned off, audit, FixIt, clear temporary files, etc. of disk errors). When I run Windows updates again, I selected 107 updates to be installed again.

I suspect that I have a HDD laminated, but thought that I would like to ask for help. Any suggestions on next steps?

  • Vista SP2 not provided in the updates

I use Vista Ultimate SP1 of the initial installation.
I noticed that SP2 is available for some time now.
My question is - why has it not been downloaded by automatic updates.
Does this mean that I have to download myself and hope _ as it installs OK. Seems that people have had a few problems with SP2 installed.
Maybe better to leave it where it is.
