Vista start not only restored at the factory and safe mode does not work

Hello

I have experience blackheads on the dell splash screen, then it continues to the f1 f2 to Setup because I don't have a floppy drive, it is okay to continue. On this screen but I have blue dashes experience everywhere in this moving around every 20 seconds or more. When I hit f1 I get a low quality graphics Windows load bar and then a black screen after 5 to 10 seconds. Followed by a blue screen of death with the code 0x0000008e. Then restart. I then tried the F8 key and restored in a last known point that worked, does not solve my problem. Tried to boot in SafeMode (normal) and I get the blue wheel scrolling as it's almost here, and then a reboot without explanation. Also, I tried to move the cards gfx and switching of slot machines, this is not having an effect. But I noticed when using a card, I get a quick 5 beep at startup, then using the other card it works fine. Is a card? This would have an effect on my boot because of the missing material? Help, please!

  • Firefox crashes on startup in normal mode and safe mode does not start reset mode

    using 26.0 FF
using windows 7 Home premium v 6.1 (last)

My problems started after the loading of 26.0 FF. If I start FF in normal mode it crashes. Same thing when I boot in safe mode. I close FF (while it's hanging) by clicking on the X in the upper right.

When I launch FF in safe mode and click Reset FF, it crashes without FF never appear. I have to stop it using the Task Manager. Off mode reset, I can launch FF in normal mode and everything works fine. However, stopping FF does not close it. I have to use the task of the Manager close. Then I'm at square one when you try to start FF, i.e. reset firefox, crashes, Task Manager, stop, then start FF.

When FF is on, I can open a new window of FF. All my addons are up-to-date. I reinstalled FF 26.0, three or four times.

I deleted the cache and cookies.

I scanned for viruses and rootkits etc. with microsoft security essentials and spybot.

I've been a happy user of FF for over ten years and have never had a problem like this. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you!

I think that I fixed it, it gives a trial because he has started to do this on my two PCs.

Go to Options > general tab > start switch / "Show a blank page" and the charges of all good. What I used was 'Show my home page' which is the default page of Firefox with the Logo of Fox and history, Favorites and other options at the bottom.

  • I can only connect to the Internet in safe mode

I tried - virus checks, HijackThis, disabling services and startup.  I have three tabs for House (CNN, Yahoo and Gmail).  Gmail connects but I can't access any other sites.  Outlook 2007 connects to the MS Exchange Server.  Everything has been fine for years and then suddenly it happened.  I have excluded router and other connection issues.

    I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T300, under XP SP3.

Here is the HijackThis log.  Nothing jumps, but I'm not an expert.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

"Internet Explorer cannot display this page".

I disabled NAV - no change.  As I said, I've tried everything.  I just reinstalled Windows and it works again.

  • Windows XP hangs at the splash screen, safe mode does not work either

I've updated my laptop with a windows update and when I went to restart, it crashes just in the start screen.  I tried in safe mode hanging at MUP. SYS and I tried the last known configuration.  So far these options do not work.  I tried Memtest, HDAT2, Ultimate Boot CD tests, chkdsk/p and chkdsk/r, Windows XP, CD recovery and rebuild, tried to start up with each opening of USB port and even tried formatting and installing Windows XP Pro SP2 and Windows XP Home Edition SP1.  So far I have always in step 1, where nothing has solved nothing.

I noticed that there is a thread here where a person has had the same problem and he said that it has updated its BIOS.  For hours, now I did research on how update my BIOS by creating a bootable disc...  I'm thumbs on a mile it looks. Here is a link to the thread with the person who had the same problem. http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/XPRepair/thread/2b3f344c-F923-4D84-868d-c0be603e601b

I've been on the forums of Toms Hardware for more than a week with a little support, but so far, nothing has worked. http://www.TomsHardware.com/Forum/253683-45-wont-load-hangs-splash-screen#t916360

I could use any help we can on it.  It would be deeply appreciated!  My email is * address email is removed from the privacy *.

Well I tried to Win 7 on a bootable disc.  I followed a bunch of instructions I found on youtube.com, but for some reason that I could not burn to disc.  Kept getting an error even if I followed every perfect step.

In any case, I watched my CMOS on compensation, but the battery is soldered on.  I just messed with it a little bit to see if it was lost or anything thing but I didn't rip out and one other solder on because I have never done this before.  So I put everything back together, turned on my laptop and it finally starts up the Windows installation screen.  FINALLY!  Thanks for everyone's help and patience.  I guess the battery has lost... but not quite sure.  I left the laptop off for about 4-5 days before I tried to play with the CMOS this morning.

Daavee, thanks for your help on this.  I learned all troubleshooting and making the ISO.  Have a good Christmas!

  • Failed to load the login and Safe Mode freezes on avgidshx.sys

I get the Dell logo screen (Dell netbook) then just a screen empty. Windows does not load.  Safe mode loads the drivers up to avgidshx.sys.  Then, it is a block of ice.

Everything was fine last time I used it.

I need to load Firefox and synchronize all the parameters of this new laptop.  It then moves to the back of a closet.

    Any suggestions?

You want CD - r for recovery disks, DVD does not work.  If you do not, you can go to any Windows 7 computer and make one via by clicking on start-> Control Panel-> backup and restore. Then click on create a system repair disc and insert a CD - R.

To boot from the repair disk, put it in the DVD/CD drive and turn on.  You can get a message saying something like ' Press xx key for boot menu "or he might say press a key to boot from the CD.

I'm sorry to hear about your injury.  It must be difficult to deal with.  I wish you a quick and complete recovery.

    Good luck.

  • Satellite L350D-213 - restoration of the factory without disks

    Hello

I came to this page because the Web, so many people say you don't need a disk and many others say that you do! {Massive headaches} CONFUSED!

After last week, ending up with the UKASH virus on my computer, a friend helped and explains to go into MSCONFIG in safe mode and disable all, then I could finally get into my normal settings and do a scan to wipe it. I ran ad-aware, but later removed that he had fallen behind EVERYTHING, including IE. Then, I saved all my stuff and deleted from my computer to make room. I then did some general research and followed the instructions. "speed up my performance" followed by a few scans/clean ups and Defrags.

I don't remember what I did to remove panic and difficulty Ukash and performance thereafter, except that I know that some applications do not work, because of a name of a file I know I deleted as 'my speed' and some I do not know why they do not work.

After spending TWO WEEKS on this issue, it is better, the UKASH went, my performance is faster BUT the strange problem of a file, and I'm done with him! I want to do a factory restore to put all rights that I can and have done wrong.

My question is; Can I do a record of WITHOUT restore factory, I don't remember if I've ever had a recovery disk, but if I did, I don't have any him more as they have become lost or misplaced.

    What are my options?

My biggest fear is I'm at half way through the restoration of the factory and it prompts for a disk and I don't have. I also drive HARD recovery on my laptop on drives C and D.

(System Restore does not work for me either, I have no restore points or can I create one, so another reason why I need to do a restore of the fctory)

    Kind regards.

In your situation you should not spend a lot of time speculating on what the people are saying. In the user s manuals document described clearly how it works with the recovery image installation, creating recovery image and what your options are.

In my opinion the best solution for virus affected system is new and clean install of the OS. It's certainly more radical solution but, I think of easier and faster way to have own OS again. The first step is the backup of the data, if possible and recovery image installation (factory settings).

Recovery image can be installed on two ways:
1 as described on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm HARD drive recovery facility
2 with recovery disk created recovery image installation

I presume you didn't create this disk so that you can do now is to order on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

In any case, try it please with option 1 and send feedback.

  • Windows automatically restarts constantly, cannot access the system restore point, cannot access the computer in safe mode

    Hi all

For the not 24 hours I tried to access my computer in normal mode. When I turn on the pc, it says "configuration data 1 of 3 steps...". 0% complete"he never spent 0% and within seconds, it automatically restarts and starts again. It's so frustrating! I have a windows vista pc (purchased in ' 06). I can only access my desktop in SafeMode.

I tried to perform a system restore, but not like he says "recovery disk is not the restore point selected. What should I do? I tried to manually create a restore point, but cannot access the system and Maintenance, while in safe mode. I can't do anything but literally access the internet. How can I get Windows back to factory settings it is with these limited resources? I have a Dell reinstallation DVD.

I searched my programs and found that recently Windows automatically updated and downloaded "Microsoft Powerpoint Viewer" and "for 2007 Office system Compatibility Pack '. Now, I think it has something to do with it, because they were the most recent updates, before the pc crashed. But I also fear that it may be a virus, which has completely hijacked this PC. How am I supposed to get rid of a bug, if I can't even get the necessary antivirus?

Sorry for the ranting, but it's so stressful when my pc is completely down. Please, please please help me. Thank you in advance for reading this same!

    Hello

you talk about restore and system recovery disc in the same breath

    they are 2 different things

and you can NOT create a restore of yesterday and today!

    yesterday is gone

If it does not already; You can't do

1st thing to try is a restoration of the system in safe mode

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

If that does not read this information

the link below is how to download and get a vista disk startup repair, which you can start from the

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

Here's how to use startup repair system restore command prompt, etc. to bleepingcomputers link below

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html

to boot from the dvd drive to be able to you will see a way to get into the bios Setup at the bottom of the screen or command menu start

It would be F2 or delete etc to enter the BIOS or F12 etc. for the start menu

Change boot order it do dvd drive 1st in the boot order

    http://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/change-boot-order-XP-Vista/

    The malware removal:

Download update and scan with the free version of malwarebytes anti-malware

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/MBAM.php

You can also download and run rkill to stop the process of problem before you download and scan with malwarebytes

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill

If it does not remove the problem and or work correctly in normal mode do work above in safe mode with networking

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.

  • Start Vista start up blocking guard down, the whole system is slow, internet keeps crashing and error blue screen occurs, System Restore does not

    OS version: 6_0_6002

    Service Pack: 2_0

Files helping to describe the problem:

    C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini061510-01.dmp

    C:\Users\Sony\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-89201-0.SysData.XML

    C:\Users\Sony\AppData\Local\Temp\WERF93C.tmp.version.txt

You said the details of the error checking 0x77 - KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR.  "This bug check indicates that the data page of the kernel of the required paging file cannot be read in memory."  The reason for the inability to read the data were "STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT' -"{Device Timeout} the specified on HS IO operation did not complete before the expiry time."

Most likely, this could be due to a problem with the hardware, as a problem with your drive.  These details, combined with your description of the problem, further suggests that this may be the case. Check your event logs (Event Viewer in the in Control Panel Administrative Tools folder) to the messages relevant or notable.   You can also check the cables involving HD are nice and warm.

As your hard disk may be involved, you want to ensure you had a backup of your data before doing large thing (a backup good and verified, is never a bad idea, anyway).

Check the behavior in safe mode and the boot, as described below (follow the links):

To treat blue screens, following general tips:

Consider running chkdsk on all partitions.  Leave complete chkdsk on each partition and see if that helps.

    Also consider running SFC/scannow.

If you start in safe mode, do you still feel bugs? What if you do a clean boot, or boot device?

Consider the memory with memtest86 or Windows Memory Diagnostic test. Note that memory that pass the tests isn't necessarily good memory - he not only failed a review.  Examine systematically to eliminate the system RAM - run with a few modules for awhile and see how things are going. Then try the other modules.

Other common suggestions include ensuring drivers are up to date (including video drivers), but also to ensure that you use the latest version of the BIOS.

It may be useful to use the driver verifier.  To activate the... Driver Verifier start-> verifier.exe-> OK-> create standard settings - > then-> the names of the drivers select in a list-> next-> sort by provider-> select all non-Microsoft drivers-> finish and OK your way out of the dialog box.

Then restart and use the system as you normally and wait for a problem.  In case the system does not completely start after activation of the Verifier, boot mode safe and run driver verifier and tell him to remove the changes.

Wait for an error checking to happen after you have enabled the auditor as described and then transfer it to your SkyDriveand provide a link.

  • My computer was not restart and I did a restore of the factory system, and it would not load the new screen?

My computer has been restarted not and I have to click the button 3 or 4 times just so he can work. I use it for school so I really need to work and so I did the system back restore to the factory settings and it did again when the screen would not load but now it works. I left it only after I did 8 hours? that is the problem or do I do it again? I mean restoration?

    Hello

I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps:

    Method 1:
Start the computer in safe mode and check if you can doot:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Method 2:
Try to perform the verification and startup repair if it helps:

  • 1st generation ATV dead. Orange light but no screen and no resetting of distance.  I tried direct connection to Mac and iTunes open and he's not here.  Is it possible to restore to the factory without screen or remote work

1st generation Apple TV is dead. Orange light but no screen and no resetting of distance. I tried direct connection to Mac and iTunes open and he's not here. Is it possible to restore to the factory without screen or remote workin

I guess you tried maintained low men together for about 6 seconds - silver 1 ATV that will restart to the diagnostic partition but who would rely on the hard disk is functional and if it was ok that wouldn't work with the logic board failure.

I guess you have not fed and attempted to restart.

In case your AppleTV think it is paired with another remote try Menu and left arrow for 6 seconds - the light now intervenes when you press the buttons on the remote?

Also, it could be in the video mode bad - try Menu and upward arrow together for 6 CES switch video modes, but implies that he actually started OK.

  • After a restore to the factory settings, where personal files are?

I recently had a problem on my laptop (gateway) that prevents Windows to boot the system.  I went through the automatic tests on splash screens.  Files were good, the disk check was good, went to a restore point, but still was not able to start.  I got a message that there was no specified "configuration change".  So I chose the option to restore factory settings.  I didn't need a disk to do - it took place without no boot disk required.  There was a message related to the restoration who said that my files could be stored on the hard drive partitioned part.  I couldn't get to my personal files anyway, so I decided to take the chance to do the restore and hope that Windows would save my stuff.  Well, Windows is running, but I can't find my files.  The page of my computer shows 2 hard drives, 'Local' and 'Recovery', but I don't know how to access recovery or if my files are still there.

Is there a chance that my stuff is still in this machine, or I'm just the GROUND?

Thanks in advance for any kind souls who can solve the riddle!

    Hello

"Recovery" partition will be the software that was used to perform the recovery to factory settings.

We should never touch except to make recovery disks, failure of hard disk for you to reinstall Vista on a new hard drive.

Windows does not save your data when you perform a restore to the factory settings.

Your recovery software factory settings is provided by the gateway.

It is an Option in their software.

It is the gateway to this topic information.

    "Restoration with automatic data backup.

    http://support.gateway.com/s/software/MICROSOF/Vista/7515418/7515418su532.shtml

All files and existing files are copied to the C:\Backup folder on the hard drive and a new copy of Windows is installed.

You will need to contact Gateway Support and ask them where to find your data saved their recovery process if the information above did not save where gateway said it would.

    See you soon.

  • Cannot restore to the factory settings

I have the Acer Aspire 7741z laptop. The computer has frequent problems, and I want to restore it defaults. I've already saved important files and had planned to do a full restore to the factory settings, but the eRecovery program does not work for me. It starts the process, says that it needs to restart, check I want to replace the data on the hard drive and restarts. The problem is, it just restarts. No recovery process, no reset factory default. Alt + F10 during boot process does nothing.

I checked the partitions still exist, and I made no changes to the system since the purchase (about formats, etc.). Of course, I'm no longer under warranty period, it seems getting direct support from Acer is not going to happen.

If anyone can help? I really want to restore this laptop to its default settings.

  • None of my restore points will not work. He directed the restoration of the system and that it recharges, but says system has not been restored.

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..
What is the issue that you are experiencing that you think that the system restore will be remedied (or you are just convenient)?  System Restore is not a time machine, but of course, this should work if you think you need.
Some tools Anti Virus 'protect' your system so that they will not allow a restore of the system work properly.

For example, if you use Norton/Symantec products, you will see a message like this:
Restoration incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored...
It is also a popular Symantec problem (well, I'll be polite and call an "undocumented feature"...), they wrote an article about it:
According to what you use for malware protection, you may need to disable the product temporarily, do the system restore and then turn the products light up again when the system restore is complete.
Sometimes you need start your system in Mode safe and so that your protection programs are not running, and then do the system restore.  Tips from Microsoft in some of their articles that if the system restore does not restore your computer, start in Safe Mode, and then run the system restore.  It works for some configurations.
System Restore is sometimes so afflicted or Restore Points are suspicious, the best solution is to reinstall your system restore.  This will remove the old Restore Points, but sometimes it's the only way to fix a broken system restore.  You don't have to reinstall XP, only the part of system restore.
That can leave you with your problem of unspecified origin that you hope the system restore will fix (using a system restore is usually not equivalent to fixing the problem though).
Give these ideas some consideration if they apply to you.
Sometimes malicious will afflict your system restore to prevent you to find and remove malware.  It would much rather you trick into thinking that you need to repair or reinstall your XP when it is not necessary.
No matter what you use for protection against malware, I do so and then only begin to solve any problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs can solve any problems:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
It can be uninstalled later if you wish.

The scans by operating clean, reboot, test and we can fix any other issues
