Vista start standby mode.

Once my system goes into sleep mode, it does not start at the top. I have to stop all this and it reboot, which takes MUCH longer time it takes and asks me if I want to strt in safe mode, etc. I know that's not good for my system, but I can't find any other average so he could restart. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of knowledge of computers, so answers in 3rd year and English would be greatly appreciated!

You can try to use third party software to back up data and check.

You can use your favorite search engine to navigate on the third-party data backup software and that the software allows to save data.

Note: The use of third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

I followed these instructions to start Windows 7 in safe mode:

I tried to start windows vista in safe mode by using the following:

    1. Click on the Windows icon in the left bottom of the screen while Windows is running in normal mode.
    2. Click on the arrow located to the right of the lock at the bottom of the popup menu symbol
    3. Choose "restart".

    5. Restart the computer in normal mode.
    6. I tried the key down and also tried pressing the F8 key several times both giving the same results without success.

    You tap f8.

  • Can't stop "standby" mode. HP Pavilion 2111us-g6. Windows 7 64 bit.

    HP Pavilion g6-2111us.

    Windows 7 64-bit.

Set up with an ID of administrator and user two identifiers that require a password to connect.

Computer goes into hibernation during the (provided by Cox) McAfee virus scan.  Tried to create the power of scanning only management plan.  Tried to change the recommended power HP plan. Tried scanning in the administrator ID.  In all cases the computer ignores the settings and falls asleep.  Firstly, the screen goes black, then the laptop on the USB LED fan cooler matrices is.  Now, he's asleep.  I hit the button ENTER and the user login screen.  I connect and the scan continues.  The first time it happened I left running the scan and returns a few hours later and the scan was started.  The only way I found to a full scan is by sitting in front of the computer and hitting the key enter every time the screen goes black.  It prevents switch to "standby" mode and the analysis ends in just over an hour.

How can I prevent the computer asleep then the scan will finish without supervision.  I was able to do it on the laptop of HP running Vista that I used five years before it crashed and I replaced it with this one.

Great, I'm glad that you were able to get the problem fixed!

  • PC does not go on standby mode

    Hello

I have a strange problem with my Pavilion (Vista 64 bit): it just won't go/stay in stand-by mode.

Whenever I go through start panel into position mode it seems to go through the process of orders-by only're - wake up' the very next second pressing strongly it's fans and check the dvd player (no matter if there is a CD-ROM/dvd-rom in it or not).

Same thing happens whenever I'm away from the PC long enough for him to enter standby mode automatically. He tries to stand by again after a certain period of time without ever stay in stand-by.

I had the problem since I bought the PC a few months - but having already had to return to the first person that I bought right away I didn't go through the hazzle and take the second return - once again.

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

    Sorry for the late reply.

The question that you mentioned usually caused if the network adapter is set to wake the computer from sleep. If you are usign an always on Internet connection then there will be a constant activity in the network card and it wakes you up the PC as soon as you put in mode 'sleep'.

Please, check the following and verify that the settings are correct.

-Press the Windows logo and the R button to open the control box run.

-Type devmgmt.msc, and then click OK.

-It will open up the Device Manager.

-Click on + sign next to network card and right click on the name of the adapter listed.

-Select properties, then click the power management tab.

-If the option "Allow this device to wake up the PC" is checked, uncheck the box that and click Ok.

Try to put the PC to sleep/wake and check if it is in "standby mode".

I would like to know if the procedure worked. Give Kudos if it works.

Computer HP worked many years, now all of a sudden, when I put it in Standby Mode after a few minutes, she completely stops! When I hit the power button / I get tha warning Page indicates that the computer does not correctly turn off, and then it starts OK. I searched the forum and not seen someone with this problem. I am running Vista Ultimate SP2, 32-bit.

    Hi Kris,

Using registry scanners is not recommended. Windows has aSFC Scan tool built in which scan repair/replace the missing or files corrupted. What are your settings under sleep (Start > Control Panel > change when the computer sleeps >change advanced power settings > Expand sleep)?
