Vista to 7 upgrade Question
I have two computers, one with Vista and the other with 7. When windows 8 will be released in the fall, I'll upgrade one with 7 to Windows 8. Is it possible to use the computer to Windows 7 OEM license to upgrade my computer with Vista to 7?
Unfortunately not. An OEM license is tied to the computer, with which he came.

Re use Vista Home Premium Upgrade disc
Hello
I bought and Vista Home Premium Upgrade disc and upgraded to Windows XP. Unfortunately my PC has not enough graphics to run Aero and DVD Maker (915 chipset), and I had tried unsuccessfully to introduce a new videocard (power problem). So I gave up with this PC and will probably go back to XP or get a copy of Vista Home Basic which will be OK on this PC.
I did the clean installation thing with the upgrade disk if my old XP system is not affected and can be restored without problem.
My question is:
If I buy a latest PC who has the necessary graphics to run the Home Premium edition, can I re reuse the upgrade disc, or the activation process will fail because of "improved" after having already.
Thanks for your help
Evereti
Hi Evereti,
You can try installing upgrade of Windows Vista on another PC as if you removed completely from Windows Vista to Windows XP PC. You will not be able to use the same copy on two different computers at the same time. It will affect the Product Activation.

Hello
Depends on hardware configuration required on later operating systems, and also find out if the manufacturer of the laptop computer is supported and provides drivers for operating systems later as to whether it is possible or feasible to upgrade or not.
Th era is no free upgrade Vista to 7, 8.1, or 10.

Why can't go from Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate?
I have a laptop double boot configured with Vista Home Premium and Windows 7 Professional.
I bought Vista Ultimate professional to upgrade the installed Vista. The 'Upgrade' feature is disabled in my professional (full) Vista Ultimate package. Why?
Update requires the same Service Pack level. For example, if your current Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 or SP2 installed, you will need to uninstall the Service Pack to be able to use the Windows Vista Ultimate Edition disc, you have that has no Service Pack integrated.

Install vista from the upgrade CD
I try to install windows vista on a VM on my mac. I have the vista installation CD is an upgrade and when I enter the product key it says to start the installation of my existing version of windows. Is it possible to install vista using the upgrade CD or do I have to buy an original copy? The reason why I got the upgrade CD, it's that I upgraded my old dell laptop from XP to Vista
Hello
that you realize that you need an operating system upgraded from
and if the upgrade license is still in use in the Dell laptop, you would be in violation of the rules on licensing, if you have also installed on the mac anyway
installation on a virtual machine requires also a vista license because it is also classified as a facility

How to roll back to vista after an upgrade to windows 7?
How to roll back to vista after an upgrade to windows 7?
New computers that come pre-installed with Windows 7 or Windows Vista often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.
If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands
For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device
For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward
For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo
For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.
Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

I have a pavilion p6110t PC x64based (CTO) which was purchased in June 2009. It came with Vista and I upgraded to Windows 7 Home premium as soon as it was released in October 2009. I also added a 4 GB of RAM for a total of 7 GB. and I have svc. Pack1
I always wonder why it takes more than 2 minutes of win7 welcome screen to get to the screen. The screen goes black and after 2 minutes, it displays the desktop. I went and disabled some things to start - maximum but I'm not sure that some things are so I leave them alone.
I noticed that as soon as I installed the two sticks of memory 2 GB the machine stops faster - but the start is always the same.
Is this normal after an upgrade from Vista to windows7?
Experience: that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my God make you learn.
(C. S. Lewis)Hi Chukka,
Over the years, I've seen version of the operating system upgrade works not as well as facilities in own, simply because the upgrade can keep old unnecessary files that make the system need to "think more difficult" who actually run more slowly.
Now on your startup items, it is difficult for me to see all the items in your image, but I can see some as the 'Corel Photo', which would be perfect remove the check mark from. When I go through MSCONFIG, my rule of thumb is to remove the controls from any ordinary software (itunes, Real, Corel, etc.). I tend to just let things like an Antivirus software and key services such as Sound Devices or things like that. Also, feel free to experiment. If you doubt the item, uncheck the box and then reboot to see if that makes a difference. You can always add the control to the rear.

I have an upgrade question. I received a notification when I connected my computer to the internet that Lightroom 5.7.1 was available had merge to HDR & Panoramic photos. I can't find these. Where can I find them.
It is unfortunate that Adobe has chosen to use the "update" in the notice inside LR 5. It is not an "update". It is an 'upgrade '. Thus, you pay if you want. Also as usual, Adobe directs clients to the CC solution and makes it hard to find perpetual license option.

Question for the Vista Home Premium upgrade to Windows 7?
After you run the Upgrade Advisor, I like Windows mail is compatible with Windows 7. How can I save my emails filed so I don't lose them when I do the upgrade? Thamks
Windows Update has nothing to do with the upgrade of Windows. That being said...
Your Windows Mail data will be preserved when you switch to Win7.
Unlike Vista and Windows XP, Win7 does NOT have any default mail client. However, you can install Windows Live Mail (free) or another e-mail Client (e.g. MS Outlook, which is not free) and then import data from Windows Mail stored in your new email Client.

First of all, regarding the link above, it will improve my computer from windows vista to windows 7? My friend told me do not buy it because I need a product code any. I am really worried about this purchase. (I see from the reviews that it is legitimate, but I was wondering what you guys think about this).
I made an advisor to upgrade to windows 7 and got this: http://i846.photobucket.com/albums/ab29/Yozuru/windows.png
