Vista updates landed and laptop slow

Hello

The laptop under Vista keeps very slow operation and finally stops requiring a hard reset.

On the last commissioning, he was asked to run updates day and then stop.

For the last 2 hours, I watched the presentation of Vista 'Update 1 of 2 installation' screen and nothing has changed.  The led on the hard drive on the laptop doesn't seem to be either flashing.

He is currently sitting on top of the trash can and will very soon a function it contains.

What would you advise?

Thank you very much

Carl.

Hi plant212,

Update you are trying to install?

You can read the following article and try the steps and check if that helps:

The update is not installed successfully, you receive a message, and the computer restarts when you try to install an update in Windows Vista and Windows 7

  • connection after the vista update problems

After that windows vista updates, restarts and configures, I can't seem to login screen. I type the correct password, but the screen only flashes for a second and watch the blue progress ring, but then comes back to the right of the login screen. I have to restart and run system restore just to connect, this happened last week with the same update and is quite a nuisance. Updates include:
    (important)
    Update for Windows Vista (KB971029)

Windows malicious software removal tool - March 2011 (KB890830)

    (optional)
Updated the Realtek for Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller driver

-Input - Synaptics Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad

    Windows Live Essentials 2011 (KB2434419)

    Hi Raziel,

First of all, we will do two important things:

    1. DON'T download or install updates from Windows Update for Realtek and Synaptics (or any other device drivers).  Instesd of get them through Windows Update, go to the computer or Web sites of the device manufucaturer to get the latest update and install instead.  Hide these two Windows updates so they don't mind again.  Unless expressly stated by the manufuacturer for updates from the Windows Update driver, always bring manufacturers instead.  They are the cause of many problems of update.

    2. in prior to starting the updates (and for each 3 other updates and driver updates), create a System Restore Point.  Of allows to install the other three updates one at a time and manually instead of through Windows Update.  Go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx and look for the KB number and download the update appropriate for your version of Vista and install it, and restart and make sure that all is well before you more on the following.  If we have the same problem, use the restore system back out of it and post back here with the specific update that won't install manually as well as any error information, you can find the problem.  If we can reduce it to one, we will have a better chance of coming up with a solution.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Latest Vista updates have picked up my use of the internet and slowed down my system

Last week, I had several automatic updates. In the meantime, updates have been loading on my computer all landed and froze. After the updates, I'll have a terrible time in AOL. The program has slowed down and often gives me an error message that the system is not responding. I contacted AOL who gave me many suggestions that I follow, but I still have problems (more my overall system is slow now). Says to contact Microsoft. It may be a problem with acceleration. I don't have these problems until the updates installed this week.

Now my system restore no longer works. I can't go back to before the updates. What can I do?

    Hi andrewgpig,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft answers Community Forums.

Possible cause would be that updates might conflict with other programs on the computer. Also could have damaged some system files on the computer.

I suggest to try in safe mode and check the performance of the pc first.

To start the computer in safe mode, do in the link below

    http://windowshelp.Microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/323ef48f-7b93-4079-a48a-5c58eec904a11033.mspx

If it works fine in safe mode, then find the program that is in conflict. The link below shows you how to do a clean boot

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/331796

If the steps above fail. Try to do a scan sfc

Try to run a SFC scan, to do this, follow these steps:

Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

Type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command. analysis of all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions

    I hope this helps. .

Let us know if this doesn't work or if you need further assistance.

    Kind regards

  • laptop slow, freezes and "unresponsive".

Hi my laptop with Vista home premium, is very slow, continually freeze and "does not" to the point where it is almost impossible to use. I followed responses to similar issues dealt with on this forum and have run the sfc/scannow in cmd. It made me know that there was corrupt or damaged files, but when I try to analyze the entries in log file the program Checker (SFC.exe) Microsoft Windows resources, I am informed, I don't have permission to open the newspapers, regardless of how I try to "administrator." Hello

Many files that SFC cannot resolve are not important.

Start - type in the search box-> find CMD in top - click right on - RUN AS ADMIN

put the command from below (copy and paste) in this box and her and then press ENTER.

You can read the newspaper/txt files easier if you right click on Notepad or Wordpad then RUN AS ADMIN - then

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then

  • Vista update and we now have a black wallpaper - Satellite P300

Windows Vista update last night on our P300 laptop and is now rather weird.

We get only a black background solid and a lot of the icons that we had are gone, and it will not change the wallpaper. Most of the programs are not loading at startup as usual (only anti virus) and most of the things are missing from the start menu... it happened to anyone before? It sounds almost to what they do when you have a pirate copy of Vista (and of course this one IS legitimate as it came with the lappy)...

    Any suggestings?

I did not physically see the laptop and won't til tomorrow myself... Although my companion knowing its probably just something simple but thought check here around before that snack.

    Thanks :)

    Solved the problem...

A windows update some how corrupted the registry.

I hit log off in windows and then tried clicking on the user name to connect (we just auto journal in value) and when trying to load the profile, we had a service user profile Service has no logon.

A system restore fixed the issue... :)

It restarted with goin' through bunch of # s as the first part 24 390 / 74 280 in growing in order to achieve the final number that it stopped at about 34 761 or something like that for over an hour.  I assumed that it froze. I did a hard closed down and after reboot door top, unable to start Windows.  A recent hardware or software change might be the cause and options to start windows normally or start the reboot system (recommended).  I chose normally, microsoft corporation logo came on screen with progress/cargo in addition to this box, and then it turns off and rebooted itself.  This time I chose the launch startup repair and he went to remove some threads or something and add as 9 things that did not file names.  He said he was doing a CLNDSK?  It was the only time he's done this. Now, either you the hit button brings up a blue screen that says "a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down windows to avoid damaging your computer."  If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer.  If this screen appears again, follow these steps: ensure that new anuy hardware or software is properly installed.  If it is a new installation, ask your hardware manufacturer or software, the windows updates, you might need.  If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software.  Disable the BIOS memory options such as implementing caching or shading.  If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select advanced startup options, and then select Safe Mode.  Technical information: * STOP: 0x0000C1F5 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0 x 0000000 0x00000000) is once again this whole message on a blue screen in which you can proceed to any other, but to stop the machine.  I even tried the advanced, including Boot Options: repair your computer, safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt Mode Mode Mode, boot logging, enable video low resolution (640 x 480), last good known Configuration (Advanced), Directory Services Restore Mode, Debug Mode and start Windows normally.  Disable the automatic restart on system failure works.  Another option is the F2 key on startup.  I CAN'T go near a window to start it's totally out!  And I do NOT have a disk of Vista, that it came with it.  Need solutions before I go out my hair.  (Good operating system until the download and I only downloaded this because I download Adobe Flash Player 11.2 problems and I thought about updating my Windows can help)  Ready to take this computer back unless it is quickly fixed.

    Hello

are you referring to the windows experience index?

If so this number is determined by the material that uses your computer

Make sure you have the latest vista drivers for your computer which you can get your computer manufacturers Web site

go to their website and look for a driver and software download section

Enter your model number for the last look drivers vista then download and install

If that improves not there you need to upgrade the hardware: map graphic or RAM

the total number is determined by the lowest number of material
