My host is a laptop Toshiba with Ws 7. The USB ports are fully operational. However, with the players that they are not. for example, XHDD is not on the desktop "XP".

What to do so I can make use of the USB ports?

    Hi Redoak716,

You just need to add a USB controller to the hardware of your virtual machine configuration. Make sure VMware tools are installed and running in the comments.

Once your virtual machine is in place and your USB drive connected to the host, attach it to the guest using the control panel of devices on the lower right part of the screen of the console. It will be detached from the host that it cannot be used by the two systems at the same time.

    It will be useful.

  • My usb port does not work. Device Manager says he has a "code 10".

My dad recently bought a laptop on ebay. It's a HP Omnibook 900 with a 4 GB HD. The previous owner had improved from the original from Windows 98 to XP with SP3.

It has a USB port in the back & it does not work!

In fact it is not even appear in the Device Manager! I need to select 'Show hidden devices' to see same the USB hub root. The USB port has a yellow warning icon. In properties, it indicates the port is enabled but does not work because of a "Code 10".

What the devil is a "code 10" & how in the heck to solve this problem, so that the USB works?

The port is powered. When I connect devices usb load they turn on & load, but, of course, are not displayed on the computer. My best theory is that the port can be usb 1.0 but the software is intended for usb 2.0 and what could be the cause of the problem. That's just guessing on my part because I do not know with certainty if the usb is 1.0 or 2.0.

It is especialy boring being the only external devices can I plug a CD player (unwritten) & a floppy drive. It would make my life much more pleasant if I could run software, backup & file transfer, etc. with a usb drive instead! It could even than the laptop quite useful to be worth the bucks thirties, my father paid for it!

    Help, please. Thank you.

    Hi SnarFoo,

    Method1

The Code 10 error code is generated when Device Manager it has not enough information or error that has spread upward through the device drivers is not recognised by the Device Manager. In addition, this error may occur if one of the pilots who needs the unit does not start. If multiple drivers are used by a particular device, it can be difficult to determine which failed.

See the article and check if that helps.

Description of errors related to the 10 Code that generates the Device Manager in Windows on computers

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/943104

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then remove and reinstall all USB controllers on the computer and check if that helps.

To remove and reinstall all USB controllers, follow these steps:

    (a) click Start, click run, type sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.

    (b) click on the hardware tab.

    (c) click the Device Manager button.

    (d) expand Bus USB controllers.

    (e) right click on each device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.

    (f) restart the computer and reinstall the USB controllers.

    (g) connect the removable USB storage device and perform a test to ensure that the problem is solved.

  • Since the L7680 installation my usb ports are not detected...

It seems that something in the registry has been changed.  My Western Digital Passport (mass storage device) is not detected is not my SanDisk Micro (2G).  Western Digital will work in the USB from the printer, but don't the SanDisk.  I've lost the use of all of my USB ports on my computer processor and montor.  They used to work before installation.  I uninstalled and reinstalled, I check startup items in MSCONFIG.

I read on the Microsoft support page which the hkey_local_machine\system\currentControlSet\Control...

should be set to activate, but I do not have this folder in XP.

Western Digital does not know what is happening, or not SanDisk.  HP really gave me the run around way to uninstall and reinstall, but I didn't get an answer that solves the problem.

It seems to me that since it was drivers from HP which caused my other unit to pass unnoticed, HP should be able to tell me how to solve this problem.  I do too much research for a new product.  I know I'm very frustrated, and since this is a new printer I still have time to take it for something that's going to work.  I had a Dell that has worked well, I wanted to just an upgrade.  I guess I could have updated by Dell.

Just about the evacuation, someone has an idea what the fix is for my USB not detected ports that have been replaced by the reader on this printer?

I added a new HP printer to my set all my ports no longer works. None of my flash drives or removable hard disks worked. I tried everything and then read "ports must be updated". My computer is older than three years and the ports of origin are 1.1 and are of most new USB 2.0 devices. Long story short, I went to microcenter and bought new ports ($11.00) and add them to my computer. All ports are now functional.

  • HP Envy m6 1125dx: USB Ports are not working please help

    Hey all,.

I had problems with my USB ports on my laptop Hp Envy M6 1125 DX. Only 1 usb port works and the rest do not work. I tried everything to update the BIOS updated the drivers from the site. I don't know if the driver is not installed or if it's just a bad USB port, but I didn't really notice it until recently, when I bought a headset and I couldn't use it as my only working port is used by my mouse.

    In the USB tab in Device Manager, it has the following features;

    Generic USB hub

    Generic USB hub

Family of chipsets Intel (r) 7 series/C216 USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1E2D

    Composite USB device

    Composite USB device

    USB root hub

    USB root hub

None of them have a yellow exclamation point so my best guess would be that is missing the drivers for the rest of the ports, but I have no idea. I'm in for this reason excrutiating pain, I'd appreciate any help.

  • Satellite Pro M70 - USB port does not recognize the device

My Satellite Pro M70 has three USB slots, one on the left and two (vertically one above the other) at the back of the laptop.

If the USB ports are properly recognized in device then as Quad Manager said it could be an external problem. The USB port is 500mA power. If the external device requires more power to work in this case, it of necessary to use the external power supply.

Now look everywhere EXCEPT the USB controllers for your device (cannot be found) and if you find

    Hello

with my laptop older, one Satellite 5005-S504, I recently problems with the USB ports. None of the three ports detects a USB device. Device Manager does not indicate a problem on the host controller or root hub.

I am running Windows XP, SP3 and there was no recent updates to be identified as the cause of this dysfunction.

    Suspicion over there?
Is there a driver available that could help?

    Hello

The USB ports are listed in the Device Manager or not?
If so, I'll try to remove them and restart the laptop. After that the ports will automatically install again.

If it doesn't work, you can try updating the chipset driver. Take a look on the Web from Toshiba site to download.
