Visual Studio 2008: Default patterns in Server Explorer

Visual Studio 2008, ODP.NET 11.1.0.6.20

When I create a data connection in Server Explorer of Visual Studio, specification of the supplier provided by ODP.NET, provide a user name and password. When I develop this connection in Server Explorer, I don't see tables, packets, etc, that this user has permissions for only tables, etc., that this user is owner directly.

Is it possible to display the tables that has permissions for the user, but does not have?

Thanks in advance!
James

Hello

Yes. I use the latest tools ODT and you just need to set up the filter for the collection of connections for your connection to include additional schemas you want to displayed objects. The tables in the other patterns for which the user has permissions will appear as .tablename (diagram)

For example if I set a filter and add the SCOTT schema to my connection to HR and HR has permissions on the EMP table, I'll see (SCOTT). EMP appear under the tables for my HR connection.

highlight the connection node you want moidy and choose filters or right-click on the specific connection node and choose Edit, then click the filters tab to change the file servers.

  • Measurement Studio for visual studio 2008 8.1.2

Hello, I installed Visual Studio 2008 and I use the Visual C++ 2008 him.  However, Measurement Studio 8.1.2 (which I have) do not natively connect to VC 2008.  I tried to manually add the box controls to tools... but namespace NationalInstruments.UI.WindowsForms seems not to be there?  Maybe I need to change something somewhere?  Any help would be most appreciated.

    Defiance-

If I understand correctly, you are trying to add references to assemblies .NET Measurement Studio for a C++ 2008 project. Is this correct?

In this case, when you have created your project, you chose one of the models in the CLR (see screenshot) category?

If so, then to add references to assemblies Measurement Studio, you go into the Visual Studio point Project menu > properties and select common properties > structure and references > add a new reference. MStudio 8.1.2 assemblies should appear in the list. If this isn't the case, you can navigate to them. They have installed by default on \Program Files\National Instruments\MeasurementStudioVS2005\DotNET\Assemblies\Current. Make sure that you add all required dependent assemblies (usually NationalInstruments.UI.dll and NationalInstruments.Common.dll).

Also, you should be able to create a box Tools tab and add controls.

If you try to do something else, could you give more details on exactly the type of project you want to create?

  • Re: Cannot install Visual Studio 2008 on Vista 32-bit

    Hello

I have a satellite P200 with Vista Home premium SP1 and I need to install it on Visual Studio 2008.
When the install wizzard starts it checks the compatibility of the computer and could not return this:

"Setup has detected that this computer does not meet the requirements to install this software. These conditions must be met before you can install Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition - ENU
    Requirements and software prerequisites
Windows XP Service Pack 2 update information
You must install this service pack to complete the installation. Visual Studio requires the installation of this service pack before you install Visual Studio"

So the only solution I have is to exit the installation wizard, so I can not install VS2008

It seems that someone else has the same problem with a Toshiba Satellite also! See http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN-FR/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3392455&SiteID=12
Microsoft product support has apparently no solution and find it strange!

So please help me, I absolutely need of VS2008 to work and I change my laptop only because failed to install VS2008

Thanks a ton in advance for

    Hi mate,

Sorry, but just because one person in a MSDN forum has randomly the same machine you, does not mean that there is a related problem of the machine. Technically in comparing it s absolutely the same material as in an office and so why Don t you contact Microsoft technical support?

It seems that it is certainly unwanted Microsoft and has NOTHING to do with Toshiba hardware or software, so please see MS support sites or give them a call, because it s THEIR software which won´t operate according to THEIR operating system.

  • Tracing with Visual Studio 2008 works only the 1st time

    Hello

I use Visual Studio 2008 and TestStand 4.1.1.

    I have a c# dll and I'll call a function of TestStand.

In VS, I "join to deal with...". "and choose to attach it to TestStand. I start my sequence and VS to get to the point break that I set myself in VS.

    Everything is great.

Now if I "Stop debugging", I do some changes for my dll, recompile all right and reattach to TS, everything seems ok.

But if I start my sequence, do not strike my breakpoints and step runs without me trace in my c# code.

The only workaround is to close TestStand, restart it, reopen the sequence and reinstall VS on it, then works again my breakpoint.

What's wrong? I wouldn't restart TestStand whenever I do change the dll and reattach. I tried to unload all modules also with no success.

I do something wrong or solutions to avoid restarting TestStand after changes to the c# code and you want to draw it.

    Thank you.

    Hi Matt,

First of all, I tried to replicate what you experience following your instructions, but I couldn't recompile the DLL after the stop debugging in Visual Studio, because the DLL was still in use in TestStand.  After I unloaded all the modules, I could recompile.  I then re-attached and saw what you were doing.  So, to get around him, I tied to the process in a slightly different way.  In Visual Studio, I went to tools' attach to process, and then chose the seqedit.exe process.  Before mounting, I pressed the Select button on the right side of the dialog box in the middle of changing the type of code we are debugging.  Select the radio button "Debug these code types" and verify that "Managed".  This will ensure that the debugger attaches only to managed code (c#).  After I did, I could run my sequence again without having to restart TestStand.

I would like to know if it works for you.

    Hello

I want to use the Labview/CVI following commando: PlotWaveform in Visual Studio 2008.

But I get a return-10 error when I try to use PlotWaveform.

    I use the following code:

    printf ("nNewCtrl: %d\n",nNewCtrl); ")

    DisplayPanel (panelHandle);

    printf ("PlotWaveform_RETURN_VALUE: %d\n",PlotWaveform_RETURN_VALUE); ")

    RefreshGraph (panelHandle, nNewCtrl);

When I run the program is the result:
    panelHandle: 1
    nNewCtrl: 2
    PlotWaveform_RETURN_VALUE:-10

I get a graphic image but no graphics. And the frame that displays is not working properly.

What is the problem with the function PlotWaveform, what is him Error-10 show ?

    BR
    Benjamin

    Benjamin,

This error means that you place an order for wrong type for the function in question. And that's because you create a control of type CTRL_NUMERIC instead of CTRL_GRAPH or CTRL_GRAPH_LS.

  • wink for IMAQdx Visual Studio 2008

I am using the sample of component project in Visual Studio 2008, c# snap.  This is the sample project that came with the installation of the software OR.  When I try to capture an image of the camera, I get a message error "interface passed or the session is invalid '.  I checked my name of the interface of the software NOR and that's okay.  I have a Basler A601f camera connected via firewire.

Any help would be great.  Thank you.

Ah, which is why you must use IMAQdx to work with Firewire.

I use mostly LabVIEW to program with IMAQdx, so I don't know what kind of examples are available. I recommend to install the latest version of the software for Acquisition of Vision to get the most recent examples shipped. You can check for errors in the forums or on ni.com.

I understand that msvcr.dll is part of Visual Studio 2008. My dll file is missing, so I plan to delete and reinstall VS2008.
