viWaitOnEvent timeout?

I have a simple application (LV2009, VISA 4.6.2) to communicate with the devices using a GPIB-USB-HS.

When it is run in the development environment, that no error is generated, but in the exe that I can see spy a lot viWaitOnEvent timeout error. In Joint spy files, I perform the same task in the development environment and the executable.

1-launch application

2 - Set the Resource Name VISA

3 - Send the * IDN? order using VISA Write.

Note that errors don't appear that spy, no error is reported by the exe (I get a correct query ID answer). I also see that in the development environment, the function viWrite and viRead are used and that the exe is using viWriteAsync and viReadAsync, why?

OK I found the answer in this old thread from 2001: viWrite vs viWriteAsync

http://forums.NI.com/T5/LabVIEW/viWrite-vs-viWriteAsync/m-p/8873/thread-ID/6999

You can the VISA Write functions and Read VISA right-click and select synchronous IO-> synchronous Mode. This has removed the viWaitOnEvent timeout errors and now the viWrite and the viRead are used in the exe file.

I still wonder why in the development environment, that the viWrite function is used and the action of viWriteAsync exe has been used. Perhaps because of the OS (Windows XP Professional version 5.1) seiing an e/s series because the GPIB-USB-HS is connected to a USB port?

  • How to increase the speed of work and avoid the "Server timeouts" with VPN and?

    Hello!

I am faced with slow work and delays in Thunderbird to my Linux.

I have 4 accounts (3 are connected via IMAP) and two of them runs very slowly. Fear that every time I see annoying message at end of the period of the server and each message (same old) opens very slowly and sometimes doesn't open.

It maybe the problem in services postal themselves, or illustrated by the 4th account is Exchange (which work much faster in fact), but I need to manage that somehow. I think I had a fast enough internet connection.

I know that the server timeout could be increased, but I have not found this option in the settings. I have 31 TB, and all the settings, I found in Google seems to be linked to the old version with the old interfaces. I went to advanced settings, I'm not sure that it's settings and what value it must contain.

In addition, has something like 'caching 'mail TB? I mean, during the reception of the new letter - it is "cached" locally, so when I try to read - local version is used until "cache" is cleaned. But when I delete or move the letter to another folder - happening also at the level of the server. I think that if TB could sync all mails and store their values locally this will work much faster.

Thanks for any possible solution to this.

It seems to me that I found the root cause of the problem)

Problem is not in TB, but in these 2 mail services itself. They work poorly when vpn works.

Will address this issue for messaging services.

Using Internet Explorer I don't have this problem. How can I do this time-out to go

You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from Web sites that are causing problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

Now in version 29 he comes back with a message "connection timed out" after a few minutes.

    I adjusted

    Network.http.pipelining.Read - timeout

Try setting the http.response.timeout parameter. In the version 28, it had not been established. Version 29, it is located at 300 (5 minutes). Should help to move on to something much larger.

  • 39L4333DG will not connect to laptop WiDi - timeout

First of all: TV is updated to the latest version via autoupdate.
Laptop is 2nd generation than i7 2675 WiDi compatible with all the latest drivers.

I can detect the TV, I can try to connect. Laptop request PIN, the PIN is displayed on the TV.
TV says then connects, so it is portable. After a while (like 30 seconds) the TV said that there was a timeout. Laptop keeps trying to connect for a few seconds more and that's it.

Any idea what the problem might be?

First, please check if computer laptop supports WLan Intel WiDi appropriate card.
Where it is, you must update the Intel WiDi software.

Here, on this page from Intel, you will find the required software from Intel:

  • GSS108E firmware upgrade timeout - no solution using arp

    Hello

already dug through the community and has found some clues but neither worked.

After trying to update the firmware of 1.0.0.0 to 1.0.0.1 (after 30% a TFTP timeout occurred), the switch no longer responds. I tried to reboot several times but no way. I use the latest version of the utility 2.3.5 on Windows 10 x 64 and he finds the switch but now the update fails always after 30 seconds to prepare. I tried the arp suggested orders, but that no longer works. Also using the command netsh in Windows did not help.

Are there other solutions? I also tried to connect directly separate full network, but also without success. Any help would be welcome avoid sending the rear switch.

    Thanks and best rehards,

    Shotokan

I had the same problem. Finally solved.

    Open an administrator command prompt.

    Run:

netsh interface ipv4 add neighbors 'Ethernet' 192.168.0.3 a0-63-91-89-1f-da

Substitute the name of your connection to the network 10 'Ethernet' windows, 192.168.0.3 with the IP address of your GSS108E and a0-63-91-89-1f-da with the MAC address of your GSS108E.

    It will be useful.

    Best regards

  • Timeout/screen lock.

My screen doesn't timeout at least that I have to manually turn it off via the locking button or fingerprints. If my screen is locked, but I turn on the screen without unlocking, he'll sleep in no matter what time I specify.

I played with change in the duration of the timer, which stands currently at 30 seconds. I also have attentive display and the display of notifcation of bike on.

None of the above items interfere with screen timeout? Is this everything works as it should and I need to adapt to manually turn it off on my screen? Is there something else I should try? Am I missing something really obvious (I feel that I dug through every possible setting on this thing)?

These thoughts struck me as well. I tried every permutation of the options associated with the screen on and stop that I could find.

However, I advanced and formatted the SD card and made the FDR. I don't know what caused the problem, but I know who took care of her.

  • Gateway Timeout problem

With the help of a MacBook Pro 13' (mid-2012) El Capitan (Version 10.11.1). running

Usually living abroad, came home last night and managed to connect my computer to the internet WiFi and my parents very well. Could access any Web site, ran perfectly. This morning I started having a problem where I can open only a small number of websites (Facebook, Youtube, Google, Apple, Wikipedia), another Web site gives me a ' Gateway Timeout: unable to connect to the remote host " message, even large reputable (NYT, etc.)."

    Here are the facts:

    • MacBook connects to the WiFi
    • MacBook restarted, the problem persisted
    • Reset the router (FRITZ!) 6360 Box cable, German provider is Unitymedia)-online everything has worked again for about 2 minutes, and then the problem comes back
    • All other computers/phones in the House has no problem, can access any Web site
    • Connected my MacBook to the Ether, has worked well. Yet once unplugged and tried WiFi problem returned. Ethernet plugged back in (with WiFi off), now, even the ethernet gives me the same problem
    • Software antiVirus Sophos's active and firewall settings and Web Protection were not yet activated (no idea why)
    • First time this question has occurred (connected to this dozens of times network and worked very well, but with the Mavericks) and has produced at night - everything worked fine yesterday and I am not aware of having made changes to anything.

Found a thread with a person having a similar problem on another forum of support, but in his case, all its devices had the question so that, in our House, everything works but my MacBook. So I doubt that it is a problem with the provider or router.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    AntiVirus software is Sophos.

Uninstall completely and evaluate the results.

Use the Remove Sophos Anti-virus program. It will be installed in the folder Applications on your Mac, unless you have moved or deleted. In this case, follow the instructions in uninstalling here: https://www.sophos.com/support/knowledgebase/122710.aspx. Beware that the effectiveness of the uninstall program is poor, a typical feature of garbage software.

  • -Measurement of the pulse width specifies the timeout?

I'm trying to set up a simple project of Signal Express that measure the pulse of two separate signal lines width.

My PCI6224 has two entrances of meter and then run each pulse in the entrance of a meter line, respectively.

The I set up the express project signal attached, which consists of two simultaneously runnings tasks DAQmxAcquire.  Each of them is set to measure the pulse for one of the pulse width.  I then connect the results for further analysis.

This configuration works very well from time to time.  The problem arises when the impulses do not arrive quickly enough and the acquisition of the timeout action.  Looks like that has a simple solution - just increase the time-out - but I can't find a single setting around the affects, the time-out!  The time-out period is always 10 seconds, regardless of what I do.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you.

    Hello rothloup,

Unfortunately, there is no option to change the time-out Signal Express for a task entry counter.  This has been brought to the attention of our developers.

Reading a DAQmx LabVIEW VI has a time-out node you can specify the time-out period, even in the tasks of meter.  I suggest you try to implement your system in LabVIEW (if you can).

Here is a tutorial on how to make PWM in LabVIEW.

  • How can I register for the timeout event dynamically

    Hello

    I found this example:

    http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361K-01/lvhowto/dynamic_modifying_reg/

I want to do the same thing, except that it is not the event of moving the mouse I want to toggle (register/unregister) but the timeout event.

The time-out period is in the drop-down list of the events, I can sign up for, but it is grayed out.

    How can I do this?

  • Prevention of timeout to trigger

Hi, I use the 1427 OR with a camera NIR Goodrich 640 x 512.  We use an external source to trigger the camera and the time between two pulses of trigger is sometimes longer than the time-out for the camera (I immediately the value 2000 ms).  I would fix rather a delay of 10 seconds for the camera and I was wondering if there was some funciton of that I could call before calling the imaqGrab function to see if the camera has actually aqcuired a picture and was ready to be "seized."  Thank you!

    @FeralPhys:

I think you can set the timeout much higher. In fact, we have several projects where the expiration time is set to infinity.

The question is, how do stop you grabbing, while he is indefinitely stuck waiting and you must stop the application. You can do this by making a loop of parallel execution, which close the session IMAQ if stop condition. After the closure of session IMAQ, IMAQ Grab stops with an error (which you can easily manage).

We use this approach generally with IMAQdx, but I think that it works with the same way IMAQ.
