  No new features other than the camera doesn't support, but I think it is good to always run the latest version (sometimes there are bugs that have not been mentioned, and sometimes there are subtle performance improvements..).

  The problem: after the successful online update of ESXi 5.1 Update 2 Patch 5 (2000251) in ESXi 5.1 update 3 (2323236) the ESXi server cannot be crazy, or it can ping to the outside network, so she doesn't have to reconnect to the VCenter server.

  I want to update a stand-alone host to ESXi 4.1 Update 3. I don't have vCenter or VUM in the environment (yet). I downloaded the bundle "update - from - esxi4.1 - 4.1_update03.zip" and have the vSphere CLI installed on my workstation.

  I use vihostupdate.pl to check the server and the applicability of the patch before I go and install and he seems to think there is nothing there to install.

  From what I can tell, this is a cumulative update and I have not read anywhere that I need to install the update 1 or 2 update as a prerequisite, so why are they not those detected?

  The hotfix installation completed successfully. However, after that I restarted ESXi, I started getting this error PF Exception 14 with a bunch of numbers and codes.

  At this stage I don't know how I can fix. Any help will be grateful!

  In the meantime you can restore the previous version before upgrading. Press
  SHIFT + R when you get the hypervisor loading screen. You will be asked to OK rollback.

• Help! Cannot add role or Clone in VMware ESX 3.5 Update 3

  I just rebuilt our ESX server using the latest version of VMware ESXi 3.5 Update 3.

  After installation and configuration of the system, I went a head and tried to add a role on the Administration tab. From there, I noticed that when I clicked 'OK' the system wouldn't take the input and create a role. I also tried to clone and does not go beyond by clicking on 'OK '.

  Has anyone seen this issue or know a possible resolution? I checked the research and am still trying Googling for it.

  P.S. I restarted the machine several times as well and am using the administrator account.
