VMware vSphere: install, configure, manage [V4] still applies for VCP 4.1
Hello everyone
I took the VMware vSphere: install, configure, and manage 09/09...will the course of the class
to apply for the exam for VCP certification? If so how much time I have left with remaining
eligible with this class to take the test?
Thanks in advance...
Your course was based on 4.0 at the time, the current VCP4 exam is not 4.1 specific as such, if your course still qualifies you for certification. VCP4 is specifically "VCP on vSphere 4", not 4.0 or 4.1.
Get the review plan later, the study of literature 4.1 (in the case where VMware is updated the review of some elements specific to 4.1) and use the convenient software either 4.0 or 4.1.
Scott.

Dear all,
Here, I'm a bit confused so I need help to clarify which exam I have to take and what is the matter with this review. I took the course VMware vSphere: install, configure, manage [V5.1] and when I tried to register for the exam, he gave me the review "VCPD510: VMware Certified Professional-Desktop ' and when I tried to find some documents to study, I found two different materials, which relates to the VCP5-DT, which is all about VMware View: install, configure, manage [V5.x] and the other which is VCP - 510. While we should I study.
Help, please.
Hi mariusme,
The review, you have to take is VCP5-VTC. VCPD510 is for desktop, which is entirely different. Please go to the vmware certification page and select VCP5-DCV(vmware certified professional in datacenter virtualization) and you will find the action plan. You can follow it, and since you've followed the required courses, you will be eligible to take the certification. And also sign up for VTC - VCP on Vmware Portal before you book review on PearsonVUE.

Hi all
Doing some research, but has not been able to confirm. Also left message with our VMware training rep areas last week, but never heard back, so thought I would try here.
In 2011, I finished the VMware vSphere: install, configure, manage [4.0] courses. I never did get my VCP4, but now want to try for my VCP5. This class would qualify as a prereq so that I can just take the VMware vSphere: What's New (version 5.0) courses? The web site called specifically need to VMware vSphere: install, configure, manage [V4.1] class so I think not, but I wanted to check. I would take the shorter, which is the new class rather than a class 4 or 5 days on vSphere 5.0 so I can.
Can anyone confirm?
Thank you
Bob
No problem, this path has always been available for VCP5.
And Bob, the counties of 4.0 class, as well as class 4.1 - is only the class 4.1, which is referred to as the class 4.0 retired some time ago and has been removed from the page VCP5 when he retired.

can someone help me understand different between "VMware vSphere: install, configure, and manage "and"VMware vSphere: Fast Track ", first becuse is about $3,000 and another is about $5000. "
Thank you
can someone give me some information about the rules of absente, homework and laboratories, in these classes online.
You must participate in daily.
You need a good Internet connection and a fixed phone or a headeset.
Online courses are generally in central time... but in some cases may be different.
also should I take a test on these classes?
NO.
just be present on these days of class?
Yes
I mean those class just for learning or at the end of these classes, I have to pass an additional examination for them?
The VCP410 exam to be held in a centre VIEW (www.vue.com)... for the use of recording the same e-mail that your use of the course.

Hello
I'm looking for the laboratory "EDU-ICM-1301 - VMware education Services - SAMPLE - in class on request: vSphere install, configure, manage course 5.5" but trying to follow the instructions
LabFiles\vCenter GA Installer
- Double-click autorun.exe , click run.
- If the security warning dialog boxes appear, click run to continue.
the installation does not work with because the memory is not enough.
Have you ever tried this workshop?
You have a solution for this problem?
Thank you
Hello
Yes we have seen several times.
The simple solution is to install ONLY the Client vSphere and not all vCenter Server. Specified in the manual, but it is up to the user that installation of the client is the option left on the halfway point in the Setup user interface.
Thank you.

Yes, you must take an official course of the exam!

VMWare vSphere install on a machine have an operating system already installed
Hi guys,.
I'm new on the VMWare products and I can't use VMWare specific terms when asking a question.
I wonder if it is possible to do the following:
Install vSphere to hardware that is already hosting a Windows 2003 server operating system. This Windows Server operating system would become the first VM for this platform. Then, we would add VM more to the system. We would like to avoid to remove the current operating system, and then install vSphere, followed by the installation and the configuration of the current Windows operating system as a machine virtual.
Best regards
Zoltan

We have two type network connection in my lab, one is internal net, all computers on this network type internet access themselves, but they could access the internet through a proxy server. one is external net, all computers on this network type internet access themselves.
If my connection to the computer's internal network, the client is responsible for the inventory for a long time when I use VMware sphere client to connect to the VMware Server and give a message "connection error". below two screenshots are for the description of the error. But if my connection to the computer is net externally, I can connect to vmware server successfully.
Here is the description of my VMware Server infrastructure:
My vmware server has two network adapters, vmnic1 and vmnic0. vmnic1 is used for the internal network, vmnic0 is used for external NET. I put a serval host in my vmware server, one of them is used for the proxy, all the computers in my lab can access internet through this proxy host via vmnic1.
Proxy host, I add two configurations for iptables as below:
iptables - table nat - append POSTROUTING - out-interface eth0-j MASQUERADE
iptables - append forward - interface eth1-j ACCEPT
Further, I have another server in vmware, I also can connect to vmware server successful if my connection to the computer's internal network. and this server network two are the same.
How can I debug this problem? Thank you very much!
Management is necessary for both networks separately?
Because if not, you can move the Group of management to the internal network on vmnic1 ports...
Create a vmkernel port and turn it on to management, assign an IP address and it should be possible to connect to the internal network.

VMware vSphere 4.0 certification (not 4.1)
Hello
I took the course in class for vmware vSphere 4 (install, configure, and manage) - ESX 4.0, ESX 4.0i, vCenter server 4.0 in 2010
Now, I intend to take the certification exam - VCP4
However the site of vmware mylearn, in the certification process, I could not find information of certification for vSphere 4.0. I can only see vSphere 4.1
Please can someone help me know if vSphere 4.0 certification is retired?
I still have to take a classroom course?
I can't write the vSphere 4.0 exam?
Thank you.
Don't worry, there are no different certification for 4.0 or 4.1. It's the same thing.
of http://mylearn.vmware.com/mgrReg/plan.cfm?plan=12457&ui=www_cert
The version 4 days this course VMware vSphere: install configure, manage [V4] taken before December 31, 2010 always meets the requirements.
Jon Hall explained in different missions, for example http://communities.vmware.com/message/1681431

Crash course or install, configure and manage?
I just spent the VCA - VTC
Then the top is the VCP course but I'm torn between one to take, through experience I was using VMware for about 2 years now. I have bunches vCenter configuration and administered a reasonably small environment on the grand scheme of things and put things in common ground... I'll take the VCP 6 dishes, so be it, but for comparison I've been watching the VMware 5.5 Fast track vs. ICM here: VMware vSphere training comparison 5.X
I wouldn't go as far as say I am an experienced administrator, but I wouldn't say that I am a beginner. Obviously the fast lane contains much more information if it would suite me best, but what is your point of view on the 2 different courses?
The first courses install configure manage short this week, although GA was only last Thursday! These are run on the laboratories using a beta version of the software, but that won't be for a few weeks.
Fast Track for vSphere 6 is not yet available, but you should not wait for a long time (in weeks rather than months)

* Time zone ORA-01882 region: not found *.

We use Oracle database 10G (10.2.0.1.0) for schema and jdk 1.6.0_14.. data_biappstx.
Please, help us to solve this problem...
Kind regards

Published by: dmaze on June 11, 2009 23:07Your database is running in a different time zone schedule as the machine running configuration manager?
Googling for error, found a potential solution: (please let us know if this solves your problem)
Check your Windows registry if DisableAutoDaylightTimeSet exists in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation. If it exists, set the value to 0 or delete it completely from the registry. There is a known issue with JRE and Windows for it.
(The above should be done on the oracle database machine, and database manager & configuration may need to restart).

Changes in the ownership of the products of EMP installed/configured
Hi team,
I use EMP 11.1.2.2 and I deployed websphere Linux applications approx. I have installed/configured products EMP and installed websphere and deployed in websphere by using a local account. Can you please let me know if it cause no problem if change the owner of all files of products EMP and websphere installed/configured LDAP account.
Thanks for your time on this.It is usually best to keep the same user who has installed, but it is possible to change the user if it should be done, many windows installs are on domain accounts and it doesn't have to be a local account just as long as it is part of the Administrators group.
See you soon
