Volume control applet has stopped working

Whenever I click on the Volume icon in the system tray, it gives me a message "volume control applet has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution to this problem. "

I have a Toshiba Satellite P105-S6167 computer.

Help, please!

Hey Prabzz,

Thank you for using answers Forum.

You can check that Toshiba is not any volume control software installed that may be in conflict with it. You can also run the System File Checker to locate missing or corrupt files that could cause this problem.

To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

1. click on Start

Collapse this includes this image and then type cmd in the Start Search box.

2 right-click cmd in the programs list and then click run as administrator.

3. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click continue

4. at the command prompt, the following line, and then press ENTER:

sfc/scannow

Give that a try and let us know how it works.

    Hello

You say "Control Panel has stopped working" or "Windows Explorer has stopped working"?

Follow the steps mentioned in the article below and check if that helps:

Start the computer in a clean boot state

Start your computer in a clean boot state, and check if your computer is able to read the CD. Start your computer in a clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

Last week, whenever I start my Studio 1737, I get the error messages "starter tray does not ' and instant write Control center has stopped working.  It seems to affect my ability to use my cd/dvd player, when I put in a disc, I get a blue screen and the computer stops and restarts automatically.  I am running Windows vista and Microsoft Office.

    Hello

The control of instant writing Center is part of Dell's proprietary software, you can try their support for further assistance: http://support.dell.com/

Meanwhile, the blue screen error details are essential to understanding what is happening. Open the event viewer (just type in the start/search line) and check the logs of the system for a recording of the event. Alternatively, go to the settings control panel/system/advanced/startup and recovery settings and uncheck automatically restart in the event of a system error. Next time the error occurs, the error message will remain on the screen where you can copy the details. You will need to manually reboot later. Please post back with these details, in particular the BCCode, text settings, and all of the modules listed. ===========================================

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods above
It is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

It is recommended that you do not install the 13.2 version or any version directly on the site of AMD. I suggest to uninstall this version completely and the installation of the version I linked to in my previous post.

The versions downloaded directly from the site Web of AMD into conflict with how works the material. It must be uninstalled before installing the 8.933.3.4000 version.

    Hello Cfm56pilot,

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I understand that your CCC does not, preventing you to set your graphics card. I'll do what I can to help you with this problem!

Normally, uninstall CCC, then your graphics driver is how to begin troubleshooting. Once they are gone, reinstall the graphics driver, then the CCC. I have seen this to solve this question several times. You can use HP Recovery Manager to reinstall the CCC and the appropriate driver. I'll give you a document containing the steps on how to do: use the Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers

I think the problem will be solved for these measures. Whatever it is, please provide your results. Thanks again for the display on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
