Volume control icon has disappeared from the notification area and unable to change.
Original title: missing Volume control on the speaker/icon
My volume control icon disappeared from my office. On my notification area icons > system icons, the volume icon is set to 'off' and grayed out so I can't change it. I did NOT choose this option. It just happened when I turned on my computer this morning and had no sound and no "speaker" icon appearing in my bar tasks, like she normally does. In addition, my notifications area icons is set to DISPLAY the volume control on the taskbar, but it does not show. Restarting my computer did not help. What can I do to get this to redisplay the taskbar? Fortunately, I can always manually volume by going to control panel, sounds, speakers, level and make it work, but it's too long. I need to be able to turn the volume on and off quickly. I have Windows 7 Home Premium. Thanks for any help that can be given.
Thank you very much for your answer!
The answers to your three questions are No, Yes, and No. miraculously, when I turned on my computer this morning, the icon is back! I'm sorry that you have to spend so much time explaining what to do, but at least I'll have your answer to see if it never happens again, and maybe it can help someone else. I doubt I'm the only person never to happen. Once again, thank you!

The volume control icon has disappered from the taskbar.
A few days ago, I turned on my pc and found the volume control icon that is normally displayed on the taskbar background, had dissappeared? I explored all the options (icons hidden etc.), but the icon does not exist anywhere. Can you help me?
Click on the link below. Enter your number of product as that indicated on the Service tag on the bottom of the laptop (can be under the battery). You can also get the product number by pressing Fn + ESC key. After you enter the PN, click Next, then choose the software & Drivers. On the next page use the menu drop down to select your (probably Windows 7 64-bit) operating system. A list will fill with the drivers. Download & Intall the latest Audio driver. Reboot the laptop and check the results.

Volume control icon has disappeared from the quick launch task bar.
How can I add volume control to my quick launch task bar? I tried dragging the icon to the taskbar, which did not work.
Hello Hassan.
Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum
Start by making a right click on the taskbar, and then select Properties. Select the tab, Notification area and choose Volume under the icons in the system. That should put back your icon on the status bar at the bottom right of your screen. If she does not please repost here and let us know.
I hope this helps!

Volume shortcut icon has disappeared from the Vista tray
Volume shortcut icon has disappeared from my status bar at the bottom of the screen... How do I get it back?
Seems silly, but I can't find it!Hello
Have you checked the settings in the taskbar and Start Menu Properties?
There should be a tab named Notification area.In this tab, you find an option; Hide inactive icons.
You can turn off (disable) this device or you can customize it.
In addition, you can choose which icons should be available and shows even the Hide inactive icons option would be activated. In some cases, these options may be grayed out
In this case, you will need to find a registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \TrayNotifyand here you have to delete the keys: + IconStreams + and + PastIconStream +.

Calendar icon has disappeared from the menu display. I have synced with desktop calendar so transfer the log events are going to the device and reminders for events are appearing. without an icon I am unbale to make journal entries in my phone. How to restore the icon of the menu display calendar? Thank you. Robyn
Thanks for sharing everything you already tried... any information help so avoid redundant orientation.
Please, dig deeply and carefully on all the home screen panels, subfolders, etc... It is easy to accidentally move an icon to a different location. Also, you dig, please make sure that "Show all" is active, just in case you've hidden inadvertently to the icon.
Good luck and let us know!

Microsoft Security Essentials icon has disappeared from the bottom of my computer.
How can I put the Microsoft Security Essentials icon back on the bottom of my computer? The icon disappeared. Several times the "speaker" icon disappears also. I look at previous posts and solutions, but I do not see the guests that are mentioned. Thank you.
Hello
Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.
Sometimes the icon simply does not appear due to a start along with many other process resources and the part of MSE to load the icon to not load damage. If you can open MSE and it signals that all is good, it's probably what happened. Sometimes rebooting resolves it.
If you do not use a login ID and password for Windows, this can happen more frequently, especially on an old PC, but even a new. Windows Journal and journal of back and sometimes the icon will appear for you.
If the problem persists, you can consult the following discussions and see if it helps you to solve the problem.
